It was intended to keep the story together since i had already ran 4 seasons of it and just hadn't put anything into story form yet... but then i went away for a few weeks and haven't had chance to write anything till today. So yes, i agree, it became just spam but helped me plan the story. Just a shame this is the first comment i got lol.

I'll try to flesh out the rest asap so it doesn't look so bad Blue, i promise =)
Amazing success! (Also hope that you can write more for this story soon)

Thanks =)
Season 4 is now up, just the boards statement to do. Hoping to have the euro2016 write-up done early next week and then i can maybe get on with playing the game again lol... I'm still at the start of the 5th season, got some serious playing to do if i'm to keep this going.
England are European Champions 2016... let season 5 commence! Come on Halifax.
Keep going mate. UP THE HALIFAX!!!!
This is actually brilliant mate. Keep this up, because I am certainly going to be reading it :D
Woooow, just read through all this. I didn't even know it was possible to be this good on Football Manager.
Thanks, but i'm not good, just thorough. With preparation and the right tactic almost any match is winnable with any squad. While i will admit to a few cheeky reloads for the sake of the story (the aim of which is to see just what could be achieved with a starting budget of nothing but success breeding success) there is absolutely no editing to the database in this story (face packs and logo packs don't count right?).

Now that the story is up to date, as i enter the fifth season, i'll endeavour to provide more updates with more details than the previous 4 seasons overviews.
just caught up on this, why havent i read this before :O and as for blues spam comment thats just nonsense lol, it made sense to keep all the stuff together so you can get caught up with season 5 now :) cant wait for this mate :D good luck in season 5
Thanks Mark, good luck with the Rangers story!

In blues defence he didn't know i had already played the first 4 seasons and then i left the country for nearly 3 weeks after writing up only season 1 lol.
Great story here. This is one of the best reads in FMScout mate! Keep it, because I'll read it!

In a busy transfer window FC Halifax again stood out as the busiest team in the league. With fourteen new faces and £3,400,000 spent, it looked as though the Shaymen were planning to make a big impact on their newest division.

However, with a larger squad comes a larger wage bill so it was inevitable that some familiar faces would be shown the exit. Amongst these would be recent hero Adam Davies who headed to Peterborough on a free transfer. Welsh superstar Josh Dawkin was also released on a free after three seasons of excellent service. He would later join past-rivals Notts County.

In total twelve players left the Shay for good and several more found themselves sent out on loan to gather vital first match experience.

The most high profile new player heading to Halifax was, as per usual for manager Alex T, a Goal Keeper. Celtic stalwart Fraser Forster found himself heading south for a FC Halifax record fee of £1,400,000 much to the dismay of the Celtic fans who felt he should have commanded a much higher fee than that.

FC Halifax announced, this morning, the arrival of new Assistant Manager Nigel Gibbs. Nigel has put in many fine years of service with Watford and we feel his experiences at this level can really help us to reach our potential this season. We would like to thank Terry Harris for his fine work at the club and wish him all the best for his future at Swansea.

We are also proud to announce the sale of 3,485 season tickets so far. This will assure us of a half filled stadium for most games in a season when we are expecting a bigger turnout than ever before.

As we enter our second season on the European scene there is a great optimism here in the boardroom that this club will continue to grow beyonds our wildest dreams. Never before has the appointment of a manager led to the levels of glory bestowed upon us in such a short space of time.

Pre-Season

In a dismal start to the new season FC Halifax found themselves unable to score in four straight defeats. Celtic and Feyenoord proved to be too strong as did more equal opposition Torquay and Nottingham Forest. With four games lost, ten goals conceded and none scored it was looking like there would be no light at the end of this seasons tunnel.

In the final two friendlies there was a hint of change, a 1-0 win over Lincoln was still considered a poor result by the expectant fans but this was followed up by an impressive 2-0 victory over twenty-four times Spanish Cup winning side Athletic Club Bilbao.

By the end of the pre-season run the new squad seemed to be starting to work together as a unit, the coming matches would test this new found camaraderie to its fullest. First FC Halifax would face Chelsea in the Community Shield and then after three games in their new league they would meet the might of Paris St Germain in the European Super Cup.

This Seasons Squad

Chelsea and P$G will be crushed by the might of Halifax.

A full turnout came to Wembley to see Premier League giants Chelsea take on the recent lower league up-starts FC Halifax as they fought it out to for the Community Shield today.

It took the underdogs only 22 minutes to show why they are dominating on the national stage currently. Chelsea simply couldn't keep Haris Vuckic from making a darting run through their supposedly solid defence to slide the ball past the blues Keeper.

The Shaymen fans erupted into joyous raptures as the Chelsea Keeper raged against his defence. With one trophy already in the bag the Halifax manager must already turn his sights on the upcoming European Super Cup at the end of this month.

Almost as if it was fate, league newcomers FC Halifax would face their greatest rivals for dominance in the area, Leeds United. In what many fans were heralding as the most important game of the season one thing was for certain, it wouldn't be a quiet game.
The atmosphere at the Shay was electric as the referee blew the whistle for the start of the match and Leeds United got the ball rolling. It was obvious that they wanted to make short work of the upstart Halifax side and came out of the traps at full speed.

It was to be their undoing, however, to underestimate a team that have in recent years won almost everything available to them. In a swift counter-attack Haris Vuckic once more proved his worth with a goal in the 5th minute. A feat he would repeat early in the second half. Leeds managed to bring the score back level not long afterwards after a demoralising penalty appeal was given and converted. Still reeling from the shocking decision, Halifax were caught on the back foot again for the equaliser in the 60th minute.

This was shaping up to be a classic as everyone had predicted.

While trying to push their advantage and take the lead for the first time in the match, the Leeds side once again found themselves being punished by a counter-attack which gave Michael West the perfect opportunity to place a shot into the bottom corner. The match then descended into a midfield frenzy as both sides attempted to prevent any more action in their respective goal areas. Ryan Dickson put the game to bed in the 87th minute, rising majestically above the Leeds defence to head home a corner.

The 4-2 win on the first day of the season was just what the Shaymen needed to kickstart their season. Set to face Watford and QPR in the next two games, both hotly tipped for promotion, it was critical for Halifax to maintain their current amazing form.

Watford fell before the mighty Halifax 2-0 with hardly an attempt on goal while QPR would prove to be slightly trickier, Cisse giving the visitors the lead early on. It would take Vuckic, already becoming a fan favourite, to draw the sides level just before half time and Victor Anichebe, up until now heralded as a donkey, to fire home the winner in the 79th minute.

On a fine summers day at the GelreDome, home ground of Vitesse, FC Halifax would face their greatest challenge to date. Paris St Germain, European Champions, have recently received massive investment which has allowed the club to grow to amazing success.

The match remained a tense and nervy draw at the half way point. The lion's share of efforts having gone the French clubs way, it was essential that the Shaymen find that little bit extra that had brought them this far already.

On the side line, Alex T was animated, urging his players on and shouting tactical changes at almost every pause in play. Refusing to back down his players responded superbly with Haris Vuckic placing his shot low and to the right of the outstretched PSG Keeper after a period of superb passing football.

Halifax found their rhythm after the first goal and started to dominate the fixture. The increasingly desperate Parisian players left bigger and bigger holes for their opposition to exploit but the Keeper prevented the lead from being extended admirably. In the 80th minute a beautifully crafted set piece saw Scott Wootton rise above his markers to head home the second goal of the game.

It was all but over now and the Shaymen seemed to visibly relax on the field. A dangerous thing to do against such experience and able opposition, Pastore slid a beautiful ball through to Costa who put it in the back of the net with little effort. But it would prove too little, too late as shortly afterwards the referee blew the whistle on a game that had become yet another piece of history for the West Yorkshire side hotly contesting to be the best side in the region.

End of August Review

With two trophies already in the cabinet so far this season and a flying start to the league the horrors of the pre-season friendlies is already put to rest.

Off To A Flier

FC Halifax, under the watchful eye of manager Alex T have started their season in fine form. It is looking like another season of amazing achievements for the Shaymen this season but the Championship is a harsh mistress. Could a drop in league form interrupt the cup momentum which has so far fuelled the FC Halifax engine.

With financial forecasts for this season being dire without the supporting revenue of success, could this prove to be the undoing of FC Halifax. The old adage that sometimes it is best to not run before you can walk, we'll soon know for sure if the Shaymen should have slowed down in their relentless march to the top.
