DanteHeaven : I use tugs training and its top class. One problem I have though is that one of my strikers thinks the training is too hard, the others have no problem with this. I moved him ti a different one and reduced it slightly but he still thinks its too hard. Hes only 21, shuld I just keep him on Tugs and hope he gets used to it, or lower it even further?

sell him, no player should think its too hard, if he thinks its too hard then he should try harder. even though its a game you should sell him.
RedArmy20 :
ArxaioS : If someone can introduce me coaches assistant manager good enough like arsenal's couse my friend has arsenal all time suberb and 100% fitness .... pfff

http://fmscout.com/i-501-New-Coach-Formula-updated-for-Patch-930.html

that might help.

and if your looking for your team to have good fitness most of the time, make sure you give them a rest for 1 day or 2 time to time.
and make sure you don't have too tough training schedule.

and have good fitness coaches.

But hes my best striker, is there nothing I can do?
Is this actually causing a problem? most of my players think the training is too hard but they just get on with it no problems.

Well hes not progressing according to genie, hes got worse, even though his overall training level is quite high compared to the normal training that is default, if you get me
hi, i'm using barcelona. kind of confuse, coz all the (under19) youth players always join the training for 1st team. if i create a training under youth team, no youth player available to join the training. Is there any bug or something wrong?
I use downloaded training for 1st team and it also covers to all the youth players.
is there any training method for Barca B? i couldn't find it in the squad menu.

cheers..

you can't do anything about your barca team b..its not on your hands to controle it or change anything, cause its managed by your b team coach..its like a afiliated club from your 1st team. about yoyr youth team, you can go player to player and set on the rest, , go to.. or training options and chosse them all by selecting each player the training you want..player by player..
@Turok...Thanks man...will try your advice.
this is the tactic i play:
-------ST-----
AML---------AMR
---MC-MC-MC---
-------DM------
DL-----DC----DR

Play tactics as:(i use the pre-set tactic in the set to menu) ST=target man AM's=Wingers
Outside MC's=attacking mid Middle MC= Mid DM= Mid Wide Backs=wing backs DC=sweeper
hope that helps.

Matt
Regarding training, set the sliders all the way to the left.

*7 clicks right maintains levels in a training area.
*13 clicks begins improving levels in training area.
*19 clicks stops improvement size - anything beyond 19 only increases improvement speed.

That said, I have my sliders set to 0, 7, 13, or 19 with nothing in between. I lump training into the following categories - GK, DC, FB, MC, MR/L, ST. Now that I think of it, when I get home I'm going to break things down even further and have an MCa/MCd training schedule instead of a generic MC schedule and a Target Man/Forward Center training schedule isntead of a generic ST schedule. I'll post my personal schedules in my Man City blog.
I need to tweak my formation .... I have a great 4-5-1 system that works wonders (solid defense, excellent attack) I manage Napoli and have won the Serie A and Coppa Italia (after 3 seasons) and now working towards my Champions League.

As I said I have a good tactic but having a problem with my MCA and ST.

----------ST--------
AML--------------AMR
------MCS----MCA----
WBL-------DMC----WBR
------DC-----DC-----
----------GK-------

The DC stays back and the DMC protects them, while instructed to hold up ball and take longs shots when he gets the ball. The DMC, DC, and GK have low mentality settings, sits back and have direct passing.

The WB's are support players and run in behind the AM's and cross the ball often.

The AM's are the attacking players, they run up and with ball, have high creative freedom and free role they are instructed to attack the byline.

The MCS is a support player and instructed to always perform a through ball and long shot.

The MCA is another attacking player and with high creative freedom, free role, mixed long shots, always through ball, always running up and mixed run with ball.

The ST has rarely run with ball and forward runs, always through ball and long shots, mixed creativity and free role. He distributes the ball.

My problem is that although the ST can score 10+ goals on average, the MCA performs about 5-10.... and this is where the problem starts.

I want the MCA to overlap the ST (so I tell the ST to drop back and have 14-15 mentality) The MCA runs forward and has 16-17 mentality (at par with the AM's)

The issue is that the MCA does not overlap the ST all the time, I tried giving him run with ball always, but since the center of the field is packed with players then he hardly pulls this off. And I find that he overlaps the ST more if he has mixed runs with ball..... so lets say 50% of the time he overlaps, I want to raise this to 70 - 80 % .... the second issue is this.... when he does overlap, he misses the shots or takes an extra step (and it is not a matter of player quality, I have messi, mata, diego and wijnaldum in this position, with wijnaldum scoring goals from outside the box and missing inside the box)

The third and final issue (well not an issue... more of an improvement that I am looking for) is my ST, he scores lots of goals from outside the box, but then since I have gotten ST who are at least 6ft (Hulk, Cardozo, Prog) they don't take the headers that the wingbacks place in the box, even if I tell them to have mixed forward runs (interestingly they score more headed goals if I tell them to rarely run in the box)

So any ideas guys ? I still want to retain the shape of the team, but improve the MCA and ST performance (more often they disappear in my games... and this really annoys me.... but then sometimes they can win the game for me.... but SOMETIMES is the key word!)

Rather than play with the advanced settings, I've played around with the different player roles to see what combinations do what. Here are some of my findings in regards to your situation.

My tactics have a MC set to Advanced Playmaker. This gets the player very much involved in attacking moves. If he's not the one initiating the attack by dribbling in the ball, he's almost always drifting in and around the 6 yard box helping push attacks or restart them if things bog down. I don't expect him to always run in with the ball, however. Often times it will be someone on the wings that crosses the ball into him, or if the cross goes into one of my strikers and they can't get off a shot or header, the ball usually heads back out to the MC.

As for your striker, my biggest success has come from my tall ST set to Target Man. I don't have the team play with him as the target man, however. The results have been devastating, with Adebayor having notched 40+ goals across all competitions in my current game. A lot of goals come as expected - a cross comes in from the wing and he bangs home a header. I don't know if this will work as well for your formation, however, since you're using a lone striker. I'd be willing to bet it will, however. My other ST is set as a trequartista, so he's drifting around and usually leaves my target man alone in the box.
Thanks a bunch!

ok so if i get this right then I will allow the MCA to also run with ball together with other advanced playmaker instructions and give the ST target man instructions (player instructions) without setting him as a target man in team instructions right?

will try out your suggestions :)

Hopefully they work out for you! I did a lot of customized settings in FM09, but with the addition of specific roles in FM10 I started using them almost exclusively. After playing around with different combinations I've found the player roles to be even more effective than my old settings. :)

Regarding the MCa - yes, having him play an advanced playmaker role tends to have him get forward a lot.

Regarding the target man - yes. Give him a target man role but don't set a target man in your team instructions.

I have tried your suggestions and it worked like a charm :) (oh i forgot to mention that I am playing FM09 so I looked up the instructions on the TT&F wizard)

my ST scored 1 goal in 4 matches, while my MCA scored 3 goals in 4 matches (with 2 of those goals coming in 1 match)

my ST has become more of a poacher in the box, I don't think he will score lots of goals like what Adebayor does for you, but I think my MCA will perform in that capacity.

and thanks to your suggestions I have been inspired to adapt a more creative instructions in other positions, employed my DM as a deep-lying playmaker (I have Veloso.... why not take advantage) in 2 matches he scored a goal and created an assist.... I also made my wingers have free role.... so they are acting as goal-scoring wingers, getting into space and adding some threat.

who says that a tactic is perfect???? every little tweaking helps :)

currently in Serie A I lie in first place, with 62 goals scored and 11 goals conceded. :D

I have a question, what training do you use? I often find my players losing some skills even if their training is intensive and my younger players stats are not increasing in enough quantity.... any suggestions?
