THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE READ AND COMMENTED!!! :)
STEFANO GAGLIARDO’S DIARY - JANUARY 12, 2014
”What the hell is happening here?!?” Chiara said when my mobile rang at 4:30 a.m. ”I don’t really know honey. Let me check… Yes?” I asked in the phone, with the strange voice who has been just waken up… ”Mr. Gagliardo? Here is Dardo Rimoldi, Lucas Romero’s agent…” What the hell he wanted at 4:30 a.m.? I walked out of my room to let my wife fall asleep again and I said: ”Hello Mr. Rimoldi! I’m sorry for my voice, but it’s 4:30 a.m. here…” “Oh f**k! I didn’t realize! I am so sorry…” Maybe he had to think about that a little before… ”Tell me Mr. Rimoldi, what is the reason of your call?” “I wanted to tell you that Lucas has decided to accept your offer! As soon as you send the contract, he will be ready to sign it…” “Great Mr. Rimoldi! This is a great news! It deserved to be wake up so early! You will receive the contract in few hours, as soon as I will be in my office! Thank you very much and welcome to Real Oviedo together with Lucas!” What?!? Lucas Romero has accepted to join our side next year?!? What a news! I was so excited that I could not fall asleep again, so that at 7a.m. I was in my office. The contract was not ready yet, I didn’t believe that a player like him could accept to join a second division team… I started to prepare it and, when the chair arrived, I gave him the great news and let him sign the contract before sending it to Argentina.

The last days have been full of satisfactions! Before Lucas, also other important players like Bruno Zuculini and Leonardo Sigali have decided to join us next year! I am really excited!

From left to right: Lucas Romero, Leonardo Sigali and Bruno Zuculini.

They will come together with some young guys we have decided to sign, such as Amedeo Benedetti, Quique Lara and José Maria.

I hope they will be the future, as well as the other ones we have signed in the previous months and that will arrive next years, like Cesar Luis Payer and Ignacio Nunez, who are going to join us in 2015, and Matija Botica and Joao Daniel, who are going to arrive in 2016. I am really excited from then talent of some of them, especially the last one, the Brazilian, who seems to have the abilities to become a world champion! I am looking forward to have him in my team!

Well, now I have to go on the pitch… It would be better to think about the incoming match against Ponferradina before dreaming on the next seasons…
Those are some great signings there and congrats on the views! Well written keep it up

Thanks Krupesh! Most of all for being one of my best followers :P

JANUARY 2014 - MONTHLY REPORT

January has just ended and after the lively beginning of the market, the pitch became protagonist with a good start, and a bad end with two defeats, the last one putting an end to our Coppa Italia’s seasonal adventure…

SERIE A RESULTS

Serie A Day 18 - Marcantonio Bentegodi, Verona, 01/08/2014
Chievo - MILAN 0 - 3

A solid win on a difficult pitch, with the usual great performance by Falcao, who scored a double, but also by Tarek Trabelsi, who scored one and did a great job for all the match.

Serie A Day 19 - San Siro, Milano, 01/12/2014
MILAN - Udinese 1 - 0

A really tough match, opened very soon by the goal by Stevan Jovetic and then become really hard for Rossoneri, so much that MVP of the match was elected Lisandro Lopez… This match put an end to the first leg of the Serie A season, with us being at the first place with 20 points more than Lazio.

Serie A Day 20 - San Siro, Milano, 01/19/2014
MILAN - Ternana 2 - 1

An ugly match played by Milan, won only thanks to an own goal by the opponents’ goalie, Gaston Pezzuti.

Serie A Day 21 - Ennio Tardini, Parma, 01/25/2014
Parma - MILAN 3 - 1

The first defeat of the year is a very bad one, having been dominated by Parma for the whole match: a great performance Gialloblu, a very bad Rossoneri’s one...

The last defeat did not affect too much the Serie A table, clearly dominated by A.C. Milan who finished the month with a 17 points lead over Lazio, 18 over Juventus, with 17 matches still to be played.

COPPA ITALIA RESULTS

Coppa Italia 1st Round - San Siro, Milano, 01/15/2014
MILAN - Spezia 3 - 1

A solid win and a solid performance by the team, with the team scoring one goal per each player of the offensive trio in the first 29 mins of the match and controlling till the final whistle.

Mbaye Niang scored the third A.C. Milan goal.

Coppa Italia Quarter Finals - Renzo Barbera, Palermo, 01/29/2014
Palermo - MILAN 1 - 0

A very tough match, played not very well by Rossoneri and solved by a goal by Carlos Fierro 18 minutes before the end of the match. Just the A.C. Milan striker on loan to Palermo, who is doing great with Rosanero, put an end to Rossoneri’s adventure in Coppa Italia for this season.

MAN OF THE MONTH

Tarek Trabelsi

The special mention of this month goes to Tarek Trabelsi : the 20yo Tunisian wing did great when he went to the pitch, scoring 2 goals and arriving at 5 seasonal goals.

NEXT MONTH

Next month UCL come back to be protagonist, with A.C. Milan being drawn to face PSV Eindhoven. Dealing with Serie A matches, very important will be the one against Lazio, the 2nd team in the league.

STEFANO GAGLIARDO - JANUARY 2014

A new year has just begun and the temperature is really low: my thermometer outside reports 2° C. Fortunately, my team contributes to warm me: we had a solid month and I can be nothing than happy for what we did!

LIGA ADELANTE RESULTS

El Toralin, Ponferradina, 01/12/2014 - Day 19
Ponferradina - OVIEDO 2 - 2

Our first match was in Ponferradina and it was a very tough one: we came out with a draw scoring two goals in the very last minutes! Not a match for weak-hearted people! The goal of Urko Vera at the 91’ minute almost give me a stroke! We ended the first leg of the league in the 2nd place of the table together with Celta, with 36 points, 4 less than Las Palmas… A stunning result for us!

Nuevo Carlos Tartiere, Oviedo, 01/19/2014 - Day 20
OVIEDO - Hercules 2 - 1

Another match whose result have been decided in the last minutes: a goal by Issa Yameogo gave us a great victory against a difficult team such as Hercules is, in a match where we were down after the goal of Raul, that made it very difficult. But the guys played a wonderful second half and made my proud of them!

Coliseum Alfonso Perez, Getafe, 01/24/2014 - Day 21
Alcorcon - OVIEDO 3 - 5

A match that neutral supporter could enjoy very much: 8 goals and a great performance by my side, especially in the first hour of the game. The triple of Issa Yameogo was obviously the mark of the match, but I want to mention the stunning performance of our Captain: Diego Cervero didn’t score any, but provided 4 assists to their mates, being the key player of the match.

To look at the table is wonderful! We are 3rd, with the same points of Celta that is the 2nd in the league, and only 4 points down the leading side, Las Palmas. Looking at our real objective, relegation avoidance, we are 22 points over Elche: maybe we can start to look at something more than that…

MAN OF THE MONTH

Issa Yameogo

Without any doubt, the man of the month is Issa Yameogo: he is only 17, but he plays like a veteran! He scored 4 times this month, arriving at 13 goals in the season. Fortunately, Liverpool did not try to buy him despite their interest on this amazing young striker…

NEXT MONTH

February looks as a tough month! In the first 4 matches (up to 5) we are going to face 4 of the first 10 teams of the league, and in particular we are going to play against the leading team. I am looking forward to it…
Wow great results with both AC and Oviedo. The brothers are flying high!! That Issa Yameogo is a beast!!! What great stats for a player in Liga Adelente! Keep hold of him if you get promoted! Awesome update as usual :D
Kr1ups: thanks mate! Unfortunately, things are going a little bit worse for Oviedo (as you will see later on), but for Milan are going great thanks to that monster of El Tigre Falcao! :)
Yameogo is great, and he is only 17! But he is only one of the youth that is doing great... ;)

ANDREA GAGLIARDO - MARCH 2014 SUMMARY

The draw against Torino has been the only thing that partially ruined our perfect month! We played 8 matches and we won 7: we are doing better every month passes! And I am near to win my second consecutive Scudetto in two years on Milan’s bench… It’s a dream coming true!

SERIE A RESULTS

San Siro, Milano, 02/02/2014 - Match Day 22
MILAN - Catania 2 - 1

The month began with a difficult match: Catania is always a tough team to face. We needed almost an hour to find the first goal thanks to Maxime Gonalons, then the goal by Mbaye Niang gave us the two-goal lead. We had to suffer a little bit as we took a goal 5 mins before the end of the match, but we could take home an important win.

Stadio Olimpico, Roma, 02/05/2014 - Match Day 23
Lazio - MILAN 0 - 2

The match against the 2nd in the league! Ok, they were 17 points behind us, but the importance of the match was still great! The guys knew that and gave a solid performance on the pitch, obtaining a solid 2-0 win that took us up to 18 points over Juventus, which became 2nd.

San Siro, Milano, 02/09/2014 - Match Day 24
MILAN - Sampdoria 2 - 0

A dominated match against the Blucerchiati, even if the score does not seem to say that: we needed a penalty (scored by Falcao) to obtain the lead in the match, and we could close it only during the injury time thanks to a goal by Antonio Nocerino, but we really deserved the win attacking the whole match and giving no goal chances to our opponents.

Stadio Olimpico, Torino, 02/14/2014 - Match Day 25
Torino - MILAN 0 - 0

With no doubts the worst match of the month! Torino controlled us till the 41st minute, when Christian Trasch decided to take the second yellow card in less than 20 mins! I was furious against him! The guys could avoid taking goals, but we ended with a 0-0 draw that did not completely satisfy me: for sure the deep turnover I applied due to the incoming UCL match was an important factor, but the guys had to to better…

Artemio Franchi, Firenze, 02/22/2014 - Match Day 26
Fiorentina - MILAN 0 - 3

A really amazing performance by the guys! We scored three times in the first hour, taking a three goals lead that, helped by the red card given by the ref to Gonzalo Rodriguez, we could hold on till the end of the match.

San Siro, Milano, 03/01/2014 - Match Day 27
MILAN - Empoli 1 - 0

A surprising match, because even if Empoli is fighting for avoiding relegation, they played wonderfully and we could only managed to obtain a strict 1-0 victory thanks to the goal by Stevan Jovetic.

This great month let us fly up to a 22 points lead over Lazio with 11 matches still to play: we are really close to be the champions, we have to stay focused!

UCL RESULTS

Philips Stadion, Eindhoven, 02/18/2014 - 1st Knockout Round, Leg 1
PSV - MILAN 2 - 3

An incredible match, really great for us and our supporters! We ended with a close 3-2 victory against a team that realizes to be very difficult to be faced, with some interesting individualities. But the guys played wonderfully and even if the unlucky own goal by Lisandro Lopez made us suffer till the final whistle, we put ourselves in a good position to fly to the next round!

MAN OF THE MONTH

Stevan Jovetic

I would like to award Stevan this month: this is an award that arises not only from the solid performances with 2 goals scored this month, but from the whole important season he is playing for us this year.

NEXT MONTH

The most important fixture of the next month will be for sure the second leg against PSV, while in the league we have to be aware of the difficulty of the match against Napoli, that is a really solid side, especially in San Paolo.

STEFANO GAGLIARDO - FEBRUARY 2014 SUMMARY

Well, we finally came back to Earth… A very bad month for us: I knew it could have been, but not so hard… 2 losses and then 3 draws, most of them in the last minutes… Maybe an eye for an eye from the fate…
LIGA ADELANTE RESULTS

Nueva Condomina, Murcia, 02/02/2014 - Day 22
Murcia - OVIEDO 2 - 0

The first defeat in Murcia did not warn me too much: I knew they were a solid side and to lose against them can happen. I was a little bit disappointed because we took the two goals in two minutes, but the guys had been focused till that point, and a bad moment can happen in a so hard season…

Nuevo Carlos Tartiere, Oviedo, 02/09/2014 - Day 23
OVIEDO - Las Palmas 1 - 2

Sometimes a manager has to be proud even when their men lose, and I was at the end of the match against Las Palmas! They were (and are) the leading team of the league, but despite this we fought till the last minutes of the matches and we lost only at the last breath, cause of a great shot by Macaulay Chrisantus, their best scorer. Despite this, my guys played a solid match and we were unlucky to end with no points…

Nuevo Carlos Tartiere, Oviedo, 02/16/2014 - Day 24
OVIEDO - Malaga 0 - 0

Another hard match against a team that do not deserve to be relegated in Liga Adelante. We played good and we managed to obtain a 0-0 draw that was good with respect to the quality of the opponent.

Nuevo Colombino, Huelva, 02/21/2014 - Day 25
Recreativo - OVIEDO 1 - 1

A disappointing result! The quality of the opponent was another time high, so it would have been optimal to manage a draw, but we were leading till the end and only during the injury time they could find the goal that leveled the match! Another two points lost in the final moments after the one against Las Palmas…

Montilivi, Girona, 02/28/2014 - Day 26
Girona - OVIEDO 0 - 0

This was maybe the worst result of the month. We were almost dominated by a team that is lying in the second half of the table! But, maybe, I should remember sometimes that our objective was to avoid relegation…

Despite the bad results, we could somehow end the month in the 4th position, 22 points over the relegation zone and 6 over Racing, the first team out of the playoff zone. Mmm… Maybe I am starting to think about the playoffs… But why not?!?

MAN OF THE MONTH

Dzikamai André Sadomba

In a month where the offensive men had some difficulties, I want to award a young defender that is doing great this season, confirming what he showed the previous one: Dzikamai André Sadomba.

NEXT MONTH

Next month is going to start hardly: Almeria and Levante are good sides that were foreseen as fighting for the promotion. The other three matches should be a little bit easier, but we have to find our focus again and to face them as we did in the first half of the season!
Sadomba looks like he could be pretty good. Might want a bit more composure.
Toon: Yeah, I agree! Phisically and technically he is good for the league, but mentally he has to grow up... But well, he is still young and I am going to train him to be great! Thanks for commenting! :)
I noticed your +8 G.D. compared to some of the other promotion contenders. It’s brutal having to sit thru tight one goal wins every game.

Despite last months results you are doing fine and I am sure you will make the playoffs.

Surprised to see Malaga doing so poor in this safe.
You are doing well keep it up :)
So close to being champions with Milan! Great stuff mate and still in the hunt for promotion with Oviedo that would be epic!
