Youth comes to Milano: the first transfer day for A.C. Milan

Market has started in Italy and the work of our manager, Andrea Gagliardo, has started as well. Today, a lot of players arrived in via Turati to meet the manager and have a chat with him. The first to arrive has been Maxime Gonalons: the French midfielder came just to say hello to thanks the manager for having bought him after the last good season: “I am very glad Mr. Gagliardo decided to confirm me in his squad. Last season I came to love Milan and I want to be a player of the side for many years!” were his words before meeting the manager.

Maxime Gonalons (24) already played with A.C. Milan shirt last season, on loan.

Later on arrived the real newcomers and here we give you a presentation of each one of them.

Villareal for some reasons let Milan steal them this Spanish striker that has already shown in Liga Adelante his pace, dribbling and finalizing great skills. He will be probably sent away on loan to gain other experience for the future.

This Croatian midfielder comes from the youth sector of Dinamo Zagabria, famous for his talents. He has stunning quality skills for a youth and will be probably sent away on loan to gain experience in first team matches.

Very young, this French striker coming from Le Mans has already very good heading and finalizing skills. He can become a great scorer in 3-4 years.

This Mexican striker that Gagliardo signed past July is the more experienced of the group. He is probably going to join the first team and grow up with good guides like Pazzini and Balotelli. Fast and determined, can be very useful to Milan during the long upcoming season.

Grown up in the wonderful Ajax’s youth sector, this Dutch center back has great physical skills and wonderful header ability.

Another very young guy, center back too, this German has grown up in Monaco 1860 youth teams. Younger than his new mate, his determination and aggressiveness will make him a difficult barrier for opponents.

The unique Italian of the group is this striker, who comes from the youth teams of Atalanta. Fast and charismatic, with good technical skills.

Gagliardo is still looking for some men to add to the first team, with Chelsea having already been contacted for having information on the possibility of having him on loan for the next season: a possible experienced reinforcement for the midfield of Milan.

On the other side, many contacts have started for selling players who are not in the plans of the Italian manager, such as Bakaye Traoré, Taye Taiwo and Urby Emanuelson among the others. Gagliardo wants to reduce his team to those players who may really have a future in the side and his program seem to be just started.
Awesome story mate and those signings are fantastic! I can see all of them in the first team in 3 seasons if they develop right great work
Very good signings for the future.
Why don't you loan players to your other team? Anyways, great story!

I hope that! I am building the Milan of the future! ;) Thanks for commenting mates! :)

Well, my strategy is to have them on my youth team in the first year, when possible, then to loan them for 1-2 years to let them grow. When not possible (as it happens for some Oviedo's players) I try to loan them somewhere else as my B team is non-professional by now...
P.S. Thanks for commenting! :)

The first two weeks of market

The first two weeks of market has ended both in Milano and Oviedo and pre-season is starting for both Gagliardo’s teams, A.C. Milan and Real Oviedo. Let’s take a look to what happened in this first 15 days.

A.C. Milan: kicking out useless players!
After the first day, when many players joined the side, Andrea Gagliardo focused mainly on reducing the number of players of the team. Considering loans and final transfers, players left Milan in the first two weeks of the month, confirming Gagliardo’s trend of concluding in/out transfers before pre-seasons begins. On the other side, only one player enter the squad: the international player Michael Essien (30) joined Milan on loan till the end of the season to add experience to the side. Rossoneri are going to pay to Real Madrid a month fee of 55k€ and has also the possibility to definitively purchase the player for 3.9M€. Gagliardo commented on the transfer “I could not throw out the possibility of having Michael in my team. I am sure he will help us during the season with his international experience.”, while the former Chelsea and Real Madrid player seemed to be very happy about working with the Italian manager.

The most important Milan’s sell of these two weeks has for sure been the selling of Urby Emanuelson (27) to Catania, that paid 13M€ for the player, followed by the ones of Taye Taiwo (28) to West Ham and Bakaye Traoré to Dusseldorf, paid 6M€ and 5M€, respectively. Globally, Gagliardo obtained 30M€ from the 10 final sells Milan was involved in.

Urby Emanuelson left A.C. Milan after two years and a half with the side’s shirt.

Among the loans, the most important to be underlined is the one that involves Adrian (19), who came back to his country to join Rayo Vallecano. Globally, more than 15 young players left Milan to join other teams till the end of the season.

Yesterday, Gagliardo said to our mics that “you will not see too many movements from now on. The team is almost done and only small changes will come regarding youth loans. Regarding the 1st team, no one is going to arrive if a bargain similar to the one involving Essien comes out, and only in this case someone will leave us.” Among those who are going to leave the team on loan seem to appear also Leon Goretzka (18): after a good first season with Rossoneri’s shirt, the young German midfielder seem to be closed at his side and may be loaned to have some continuity on the pitch.

Leon Goretzka when playing with Germany youth team: he is rumored to be loaned.

Real Oviedo: revolution goes on!
It seems that everything can happen in Oviedo in these days and, after the very busy first market day, also the words that the manager, Stefano Gagliardo, pronounced the 2nd day of the month do confirm that: “The Liga Adelante is going to be a really tough challenge and I don’t consider some of the players of the team ready to face it. This means that they are going to leave for joining clubs more suitable to their abilities and that we are going to replace them with more skilled players.” In the first 15 days the transfer market was intense, with Gagliardo contacting many players’ agents. This results in 5 players leaving Oviedo and 4 joining the side.

Among those who left, in the first days Pepe Diaz (33) was transferred for free to Mirandes, while Lucien Owona (22) and Alvaro (24) went to Lleda Esportiu and Ferrol, respectively, with a global fee of about 65k€.Then, after some days, the time comes for Iker Alegre (27) to join his mate Alvaro at Mirandes for a 22k€ fee, and Galder Cerrajeria (24), who joined the German second league team Ingolstadt for 350k€.

Galder Cerrajeria during medical controls before signing with Ingolstadt.

In order to fix the problems in some positions, Gagliardo explored the list of unemployed players and tracked down the Spanish goalkeeper Manu (27), the Italian left full back Simone Sini (21) and the experienced Brazilian (with Italian passport) midfielder Marcinho Guerreiro (32). Moreover, he added to his group of youths the American (with English passport) striker Juan Pablo Villalobos (18), who is going to support Nyron Blaze in Oviedo U19 team’s attack.

Looking at the future, Gagliardo is said to be looking for another element in the attacking positions, with Brazilian striker Leo Aro (29) really favorite for filling it. On the other side, Gagliardo seems intentioned to loan some young players, such as Mauro Castellanos (18), Almamy Diallo (16) and Heinz Urban (19) to let them play some first team caps, while rumors say that Racing Santander got interested in Oviedo’s left full back Javi Cantero (25), that Gagliardo already put on the transfer list.

Leo Aro is on the top of Gagliardo’s strikers list for joining Oviedo.

Market slowly goes on…

Market goes on in Italy and Spain and the two Gagliardo’s brothers seem to have a little rest after the very intense first two weeks of work.

A.C. Milan: small movements…
As its manager Andrea Gagliardo said few days ago, the Rossoneri devoted to some small movements during these 15 days, with some young players such as Mirsad Bakovic (18), Dario Marcuzzi (20) and Leon Goretzka (18) leaving the team on loan till the end of the season (to Sochaux, Verona and Wolfsburg, respectively). Gagliardo seems to be happy about his team and completely focused on pre-season trainings.

Real Oviedo: here comes Leo Aro!
The main news of the last two weeks at Oviedo’s home has been the arrival, few days ago, of the Brazilian striker Leo Aro (29), who is going to fight with Issa Yameogo for the position next to the captain, Diego Cervero.

Gagliardo commented on his last man saying: ”I watched some videos about Leo and I got impressed. I think he can really help us fighting for staying in Liga Adelante.”

On the other hand, Gagliardo ended a transaction with Malaga for sending Mauro Castellanos (18) on loan till the end of the season to its B team for having some first team caps.

Random news from the market…

The 15th of August has just come and in this really hot day we are here to sum up the very few movements that animated the Gagliardo brothers’ market in this last days. While Andrea did nothing important concerning A.C. Milan, Stefano send on loan two of his Real Oviedo’s youths: Heinz Urban (19) moved to Eibar to have the possibility to show with continuity the good goalkeeping skills he showed off in his 8 caps last season, while Almamy Diallo moved to the second team of Deportivo la Coruna as Real Oviedo seems to be full enough in his position both in the first and in the U19 teams. Finally, the interests of Real Sociedad on Javi Cantero realized in an offer of 350k€ that Gagliardo accepted, so that after only one season with Oviedo’s shirt the left back left for a new adventure for a really satisfactory for his former side.

Javi Cantero left Real Oviedo after only one season.

A.C. Milan Pre-Season

It’s the 18th of August and yesterday night we played our last pre-season match against Carpi. I think I can be happy about what we did in this month of trainings and matches, except from the bad German travel where we obtained a bad draw against Friburgo and we showed our limits against one of the best teams in Europe, Bayern Munich. Even if the other matches were not so difficult, I could study the improving adaptation of the team to our 4-3-3 tactics and I got impressed by the skills of Carlos Fierro: this Mexican guy can become a real crack if he keeps his head on his neck! I think he will deserve some caps during the season to grow up properly.

Now, 4 days separate us from the first Serie A match against in Terni: Ternana has just come back to the first league after years and they will try to impress their fans, so we have a difficult match to face. I have to stay really focus on the preparation of this match, but I have also to think about next Sunday and the Supercoppa Italiana match against Inter: even if this trophy is not the most important one, it will be a derby and our fans want a win, and we cannot betray them!

Real Oviedo Pre-Season

How the hell is hot the air here in Oviedo?!? I didn’t remember that training the 14th of August could be so hard… Well, but we have to prepare the first match of the new season and we cannot think of the weather…

Sunday we finished our good pre-season with a wonderful result: a home draw against Atletico Madrid! Ok, I know, we are the side that last season could win against Malaga in Copa del Rey, but Atletico is one of the most important Spanish team and even if it was only a friendly match, this has been a wonderful result for me and for my players! We showed even against Seville that we could somehow fight against a first division team, but in that case we lose 0-2, while this time we obtained a stunning 2-2. Well, for the rest the matches were not so hard, but they have been a good training for the next season. We are a completely restyled team and we needed some shakedown to make the newcomers adapt to our 4-4-2 tactics. But due to the difficulty of what we are going to face, I had to slightly change our way of moving and playing on the pitch, as this season we will be hardly able to control the game as we did last year and we will need to play in a different way, using counterattacks and moving the ball fast to the strikers, so also those who were year last season need some matches to get used to our new way of playing.

I think now we are ready for the new year and on friday Alcorcon is going to test if I am right…

LIVE - Falcao in via Turati!

Leo Di Bello (Sky Sport 24 Studio)

Radamel Falcao

“Wait! Gianluca Di Marzio is calling us from outside A.C. Milan HQ! Go on Gianluca…”

“Yeah Leo, I am here in via Turati, outside Milan HQ, where Rossoneri’s manager, Andrea Gagliardo, entered almost 30 mins ago: it is rumored that Atletico Madrid’s striker, Radamel Falcao, is also inside to sign a contract with A.C. Milan! We already told you in the last days about the interest of Milan’s board on the player and of a possible offer of about 50M€ for El Tigre, but we did not know that the transaction was so advanced…”

“Gianluca, you said that Falcao is supposed to be inside…”

“Yeah, he is supposed to have entered from a secondary entrance to avoid journalists… But… Wait! Falcao is exiting now! Radamel, can you say to the viewers that you are a new Milan player?”

“I am proud to say that I have just put a sign on my new 4-year contract for A.C. Milan! I needed only a brief speak with Mr. Gagliardo to be convinced on joining this wonderful and ambitious team. I am here to help Milan to win everything!”

“Radamel! Radamel! Wait! … Well, Leo, Falcao is now running away, but he told us what we would like to know: Falcao is a new A.C. Milan player!”

El Tigre, Radamel Falcao (27), new A.C. Milan player.

A.C. Milan: A Stunning End to the Market!

With an incredible move in the last day of the transfer window, Gagliardo stunned all the people all over Europe! El Tigre Falcao was incredibly signed by Rossoneri from Atletico Madrid for the incredible amount of 48M€ plus some bonus linked to caps and goals of the former Colchoneros player. After the first words said by Falcao to Sky Sports journalists (see here), Gagliardo expressed his happiness saying: ”I am really excited! Radamel is a wonderful player! When I heard that he was listed by Atletico Madrid, I did not think twice and called the side’s board to know the price. We start the transaction that ended up well! I want to thank Milan’s board for the sacrifice they did for this transfer, but I ensure them, as well as the supporters, that Radamel will be the star of our season!”

Falcao’s coming has been followed by the decision to loan Carlos Fierro to Palermo to let him play some first team matches. Here it is the table of all the most important moves of Milan’s market:

Real Oviedo: The Market’s End

The market ended few our ago in Spain and Oviedo’s manager, Stefano Gagliardo, had a busy last day. The first news of the day has been the signing of the Spanish striker Urko Vera: the former Alcorcon player signed a 4-year contract and cost 120k€.

Some hours later, a satisfied Xavi Moré finally left Oviedo to join Cartagena, with Los Carbayones obtaining a fee of 75k€. In the meantime, the young midfielder Pau was loaned to third division team Cultural Leonesa till the end of the season. Here it is the table that sums up the most important moves of Oviedo’s market:

A.C. Milan: An Analysis of the Team

Tactics
The main tactics will remain the 4-3-3 that characterized last season, but thanks to the flexibility of the players in the squad, we could sometime see also the 4-2-3-1 and an asymmetric 3-5-2 that Gagliardo tried sometimes during his trainings.

Goalies
First Team: Fraser Forster, Christian Abbiati
Others: Gabriel (loan), Andrea Baricco (U20)

Forster will be the regular, he showed his skills last season being one of the best in the squad that won Serie A. Abbiati is getting old, but he could still be a good backup for less important matches. Gagliardo should be worried about the future: Gabriel and Baricco can become nothing more than good second league team goalies, nothing useful to Milan.

Defenders
First Team: Ignazio Abate, Raul Albiol, Luca Antonini, Mattia De Sciglio, Lisandro Lopez, Philippe Mexes, Nicolas Nkoulou, Ahmed Traoré, Cristian Zaccardo
Others: Dario Marcuzzi (loan), Tonny Hendriks (U20), Markus Muller (U20)

Center backwards is well-equipped and has great future. The regulars should be Nkoulou and one among Albiol and Lopez, with Traoré and Mexes as backups. Mexes is more than 30, but the other 4 are still young and Hendriks and Muller are hot perspective. The sides are a little worse: the two regulars, Abate and De Sciglio, are good and young players, in particular the latter who can become a world player. The backups are not so good: both Zaccardo and Antonini are not bad, but they are getting old and Milan needs something more than them. Marcuzzi can be the future if he grows up well.

Midfielders
First Team: Massimo Ambrosini, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Nigel de Jong, Michael Essien, Maxime Gonalons, Riccardo Montolivo, Antonio Nocerino
Others: Mirsad Bakovic (loan), Leon Goretzka (loan).

The midfield is the zone with more experienced men. The regulars should be de Jong, Montolivo and one among Essien and Boateng, with Gonalons and Nocerino ready when needed. Ambrosini is getting old, but his experience could be important in some matches. Maybe quality lacks a bit and Gagliardo should focus on that. Bakovic and Goretzka are hot perspectives, possible regulars in 2-3 years.

Attackers
First Team: Mario Balotelli, Stephan El Shaarawy, Falcao, Stevan Jovetic, Mbaye Niang, Giampaolo Pazzini, Tarek Trabelsi
Others: Adrian (loan), Carlos Fierro (loan), Donatello Martinelli (loan), Lyes Chiha (U20), Carlo Malizia (U20), Valiant Virgili (U20).

For sure, the best sector of the team. Falcao is the star of a young and really talented attack. The regular wings will probably be El Shaarawy and Jovetic. Balotelli and Pazzini will be the backups for the role of central striker, the really young Trabelsi and Niang the ones for the wing positions. The future is shining: except from Falcao and Pazzini, all the first team attackers are U23. To them, we may add all the youth that Milan has, in particular Carlos Fierro, Lyes Chiha and Carlo Malizia, that may be ready to be first team in 2-3 seasons.

Real Oviedo: An Analysis of the Team

Tactics
The team has been built for the 4-4-2 that we have already seen last season. Sometimes it could happen to see a 4-2-3-1, but it won’t happen often.

Goalies
First Team: Manu, Albi Ahmetaj
Others: Heinz Urban (loan)

Manu will be the regular due to his experience, but Ahmetaj is going to be a fighting backup: he proved his skills last season and for sure does not want to be relegated as a second choice. Urban is young and talented and may be promising as a backup, or maybe even a regular, for the future.

Defenders
First Team: Elvedin Dzinic, Anis Meziani, Francesco Renzetti, Dzikamai André Sadomba, Simone Sini, Wellington
Others: Andres Ferreira (U20), Lorenzo (U20), Robert Papp (U20), Wei Xu (U20)

The regular line should be composed of Meziani-Wellington-Sadomba-Renzetti, but Dzinic and Sini will fight for some space. The youth are very promising, especially Papp who can be ready for some caps yet.

Midfielders
First Team: Fabio Henrique, Alejandro Gagliardi, Marlon Ganchozo, Stefano Guberti, Marcinho Guerreiro, Lucas Mendes, Wilfred Osuji, Aitor Sanz
Others: Mauro Castellanos (loan), Almamy Diallo (loan), Pau (loan), Jorge Alvarez (U20), German Llerena (U20), Borja Goni (U20)

A well-equipped midfield sector for Los Carbayones. The starting lineup should be composed of Gagliardi-Marcinho-Osuji-Guberti, but especially the South-American trio Fabio-Ganchozo-Mendes will fight for being regulars, while sanz is a good backup. The future is good, with some interesting youth such as Alvarez, Goni and Diallo.

Attackers
First Team: Diego Cervero, Leo Aro, Manu Busto, Urko Vera, Issa Yameogo
Others: Nyron Blaze (U20), Juan Carlos Villalobos (U20).

With the arrival of Vera the attack has been completed. Cervero will be the only one to be sure of a place in the attack, with Leo, Yameogo and Vera himself fighting for a place at his side. Manu Busto will be probably used few times during the season despite he has been fundamental last year. Blaze and Villalobos are very promising and can become first team in 1-2 seasons.
