Málaga CF: April

Real Sociedad 1-2 Málaga

We started of well against an in-form Sociedad side who were creeping into the European places at the time.. Toulalan picked up a red card during the game, taking his tally of cards to 15 yellow cards and 2 red cards: and he's not the worst.

Málaga 1-1 Atletico Madrid

A good result in the end, picking up a goal late on to seal a draw and keep us cemented in the middle of the table.

Valencia 2-1 Málaga

We played fairly well against the team in 4th at the time, we did give away a penalty after we took the lead and they went on to capitalise on their goal.

Málaga 0-1 Getafe

We played quite badly against a team preparing for relegation to the Liga Adelante. It was a poor performance and we could not keep the ball for very long at all.

Málaga CF: Copa del Rey Final

Málaga CF came into the final at the Santiago Bernabeu from a heavy defeat to Real Madrid at the same ground. The Anchovies had picked up 4 defeats in the last 5 games, and only one win against Sevilla. It was to be Málaga's first ever visit into the Copa del Rey final.

Málaga's opponents, Atletic Bilbao, had picked up 4 wins in the last 5 games, including a 2-0 win over league leaders Barcelona. Fernando Llorente was setting records all over the place, with 45 goals in 47 games in all competitions. On contrast to Málaga, it was the Basque club's 37th attempt at winning the trophy, winning it on 23 occasions.

0 minutes: The final kicked off, with Bilbao going from right to left in Black, and Málaga going from left to right their traditional blue and white stripes.

2 minutes: When Iker Muniain headed over Martin Demichelis, Fernando Llorente had the chance to tap in for 10 yards, doing so duly. 1-0 to Bilbao!

7 minutes: After a fantastic run from Salvio, he crossed it to the waiting Julio Baptista, who smashed the ball into the top corner at the near post. 1-1!

15 minutes: When Gamez's cross was headed clear, the ball dropped to Jeremy Toulalan who half-volleyed the ball, where it deflected of a defender and past the keeper. 2-1 to Málaga!

33 minutes: When a goal kick was taken long by Fernandez, club captain Duda led into a header with Toquero with an elbow, and was given a straight red card for violent conduct. Málaga down to 10 men!

38 minutes: Weligton played a ball over the top to Salvio, who rounded the keeper and powered it in at the near post. 3-1 to Málaga!

56 minutes: A deep free-kick from left-back Antunes, set Julio Baptista up to score his second of the match. 4-1 to Málaga!

60 minutes: When Weligton slid in hard on Gaizka Toquero, the referee awarded Bilbao a penalty. Andoni Iraola stepped up and slammed the ball home from the penalty spot. 4-2 to Málaga!

87 minutes: Iraola played Llorente through, and he placed it in the top corner from the edge of the area. 4-3 to Málaga!

92 minutes: A foul from Jeremy Toulalan meant that he would pick up his second yellow card and he was sent off. Málaga down to 9 men!

95 minutes: The referee blew for full-time: Málaga had won the Copa del Rey for the 1st time in their history!
I'm really sorry guys, but my final against Bilbao and my game against Deportivo (which I won 1-0) have disappeared because my save crashed without me saving. Really annoyed at the moment. I will holiday through to the next game, but remember in the next update I won 4-3 in the final. Sorry guys

Málaga CF: May

Photoshop tekkers on the Copa del Rey results

Granada 2-0 Málaga

A poor performance, which led to us dropping a couple of places in the league. We just could not string anything together during the game.

Málaga 4-2 Sevilla

A very good performance to come back on our last game. Sevilla were in the Champions League places at the time so we did very well to improve.

Real Madrid 10-0 Málaga

Wow. It's pretty obvious how this game went. I gave away 6 penalties, Ronaldo scoring them all. My lowest rating was 2.10, for Sergio Sanchez and Isco.

Málaga 4-3 Atletic Bilbao

Read my full match report here.

Málaga 3-2 Deportivo

A good result, nicking a winner late on. (I was on holiday for this match and did not really see much of it)

Barcelona 2-1 Málaga

We levelled early on against a strong Barcelona side who had already lost the league title to rivals Real Madrid. We played well but they scored late on to win it.

La Liga

End of Season report coming up soon!

Málaga CF: End of Season Report

La Liga

We picked up 10th position and a Europa League place from our Copa del Rey final. We were predicted to finish mid-table, and we said to the board that I would aim for mid-table. I am happy that we managed to get this place in the league.

Copa del Rey

Málaga CF 4-3 Atletic Bilbao

We did excellent to appear in the club's first ever final ever. We played well throughout the tournament, and we won in a fantastic final.

Europa League

Pretty poor performance overall, and we will be hoping to improve on this year's performance next season. Hopefully, though, we will play thoroughly better during the tournament.

Málaga CF: The Players

Goalkeeper

Nobody else to choose from here, but Caballero did excellently despite the goal's he conceded all season. Some of the saves that he made were excellent, but he did concede quite a few unfortunately.

Defender

Weligton, the club's vice captain, played very well in defence throughout the season. He was rock solid, and I may move him to be captain.

Midfielder

Despite his shocking discipline this season, Jeremy Toulalan was the pick of my midfielders this season, scoring what turned out to be the winning goal in the Copa del Rey final. I may have to move him on this season as he is the highest valued player at the club, but i WILL PROBABLY KEEP HIM.

Striker

Javier Saviola, even though he could have easily doubled his goal tally this season, played well and fought closely with Libor Kozak for my best striker, but Kozak was at the club for less time, and scored inevitably.

Pre-Season

Good job re-qualifying for some form of European football - a team under financial hardship such as Malaga do need to be there! Hope you get higher this season though!

Thanks mate, it's just raising funds is what I need to do :P
Great stuff. I lost 5-0 to Real Madrid myself. How did you concede 6 penalties :/?
Nice job so far!!! Really sucks that they are so in debt. I really like Malaga!

I honestly have no idea, just given away so many that season :P

Málaga CF: Pre-season, Transfers and August

Málaga 0-4 A.C. Milan

The Italian giants came to La Rosaleda and beat us comprehensively. We didn't play great but had the majority of the possession.

Málaga 1-2 Club America

The Mexicans also beat us in a closely fought game. Demichelis was strong at the back all game, and also picked up a goal.

Málaga 0-3 Barcelona

Sort of expected to be beaten, with our new loanee Rafinha scoring a hat-trick against us that day.

Málaga 0-1 Dortmund

A better performance from the team, as we finally started to gel as a team and familiarise ourselves with the tactic.

Teplice 1-1 Málaga

We could not really capitalise on any of our chances during this game, and succumbed to a draw.

Málaga 2-0 PSV

A better game, with new loanee Rafinha bagging a goal during this exciting game.

Grosetto 0-4 Málaga

An improvement on last years friendly where we lost 1-0, with mainly defenders picking up the goals during this game.

Málaga 2-4 Manchester United

A fantastic game in which we dominated on every stat apart from goals. It took a Van Persie hat-trick to save United in this thriller.

Qarabag Agdam 0-6 Málaga

A great performance all round, with a big win picked up easily thanks mainly to Eliseu and our new signings.

Oliveirense 0-1 Málaga

A fairly boring game with the only goal scored straight from kick-off by our tall Czech Libor Kozak, who was returning from injury.

Málaga 4-0 Qarabag Agdam (Agg. 10-0)

A comprehensive victory, with Gervinho and Isco starring in particular. We enjoyed total domination over the poorly set up Azerbaijani side.

Rupel Boom 0-2 Málaga

A nice easy victory to end our pre-season, going from low to high throughout the period of 6 weeks.

Málaga CF: The Transfers

I am silently very pleased with the signings I managed to make with such a low budget. Hopefully, I will be able to start with these players to earn money. My sales, where I was sad to see Caballero and Saviola leave the club. Fernandez also left as there was just not enough space in the squad for him. I wasn't impressed by former captain Duda last season, and Weligton steps up as new captain. Olinga left to Real Madrid for a nice chunk of money, but I was hoping for slightly more for him.

Málaga CF: August

Málaga 1-2 Atletico Madrid

For the 2nd year running, we got of to a very unlucky start to the season. We took the lead, before a last minute mistake led to them scoring a winner after they had equalised quickly. We had over 70% possession during the game however.

Málaga 3-1 Brøndby IF

A good result picked up here, conceding only to a penalty to secure a 3-1 lead in the Europa League.

Athletic Bilbao 4-0 Málaga

Despite the result, the players played fantastically, with only Bilbao improving heavily after we had a great, dominant first-half. Again 70% possession in the game.

Brøndby IF 1-1 Málaga (Agg. 2-4)

A late away goal from Macheda made sure we drew and secured our place in the group stages of the Europa League.

Málaga 1-2 Granada

Again extremely unlucky, after coming from behind, as they scored a 92nd minute winner from a corner. Disappointing to lose but dominant on possession.

Pretty good free transfers buddy!
Great signings mate, Rahfina, gervinho, Machedo, and Gomes are brilliant. Poor results so far, bit I'm confident you can turn it around. Good Luck and I'm loving this story! :D
