Joe Dowley's first signing of the new season, came in the form of Italian goalkeeper Vito Mannone. Dowley was, at the time, looking for a new goalkeeper, and Mannone was chosen to be the back-up keeper. He joined on a free after his contract had expired.
Dowley's next signing of the indow, was young starlet Mahommed Hassani, who joined on a free from Havre AC of France. The 17 year old Morrocan has already picked up 2 international caps for his country. He has since been loaned out to Barcelona, and will be set to start some matches.
A third keeper of the window, Heurelho Gomes was signed on a free transfer. He had previously been on loan at Málaga, and impressed British manager Joe Dowley.
Finally, another keeper joined the club, looking set to start as first-choice keeper. Victor Valdes left Barcelona, and Málaga poached him before anybody else could sign him. Hopefully, Málaga will now definitely have their goalkeeper spot covered.
Dowley then decided that cover at right-back was required, signing Brazilian right-back Wallace on a loan from Chelsea until the end of the season.
Next, a fantastic French youngster, who signed a professional contract with the Anchovies. He joined from AS Saint-Ettiene.
He was joining on loan again, Federico Macheda. After a fantastic season with the club last year, scoring 29 goals in all competitions, the Italian has again joined for another season.
Joining from Manchester City, Matthias Bossaerts, the Belgium youngster will be hoping to develop at the club, with the club looking to sell him for profit in the future.
Erdal Yildrim joined on a free transfer after his Dortmund contract expired. The central midfielder will now start to develop and give the club a chance to strengthen their ageing team.
Erick Alvarez signed on a free from Honduran club Motagua. The young striker has already left for a loan spell at Barcelona.
When Málaga enquired about the availability of the Dutch attacking midfielder, they received the reply that Barcelona would accept £0 for him to leave. Dowley immediately snapped him up, after being a long-time admirer of the player.
Dmitriy Savitskiy, the Belarussian right-back, joined on a free, before being loaned out to Girona. It remains to be seen whether this will be a good move for the club.
