Málaga CF: League Table

We bring you reports this evening that Málaga CF have officially sacked manager Joe Dowley. The events have occurred after the 5-1 loss at the hands of Levante, where after the game, a disagreement between Dowley and club chairman Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani.

In a statement released by the club, Al-Thani had this to say: 'So far this season we have been extremely disappointed with Dowley's management of the club in the league. There were some positives for sure, with the team's performance in the Champions League.

'After the match this afternoon, I spoke to Joe Dowley, and asked him to explain why we had lost in such a poor fashion. He blamed it on the fact that 3 red cards were given to his players, and the amount of injuries in the squad. We told him that it was not acceptable, and I told him immediately that he would be relieved of his duties.'

Dowley had this to say on the matter, in his message to the club's fans and players: 'I am very sad to reveal that my time with Málaga CF is now up. It has been a fantastic ride, and I love all of the fans. I can only thank all of my staff and the chairman Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani for entrusting me with the role in the last couple of years. The club and I had come to a mutual agreement for my contract to be terminated wit immediate effect after the performances in the league and a slight disagreement. Last of all I would like to thank all of the fantastically talented players I had working under me during my team here at La Rosaleda. It was a fantastic journey.'

Fans of the Anchovies are now said to be in uproar over the managerial situation, with many venting their frustrations during riots outside the club;s ground.

Dowley has reportedly already applied for many jobs, with many pundits and people alike saying that he could be in line to take over at Italian side Pescara, or even English team Manchester United. It still remains to be seen, though, what and where Dowley will do and go next.

Apply for anything I see, Mourinho is precarious at United :P

My Diary: First month out of the job

Well it had been a very tough month, first being sacked and secondly, I didn't really like any of the jobs that had come up. Only the next day after my sacking, I applied for the Inter and Pescara jobs. Pescara offered me a job, but I turned it down after delaying for three weeks. Inter secured somebody else as manager.

Then, around 10 days later, I applied for Argentinian side Estudiantes (LP), who were sitting very low in their league. They eventually chose somebody else to manage there. Osasuna, back in Spain, was also applied for by me, but I turned it down: I now wanted to go somewhere else in the world.

I still applied for all the jobs I could, and Real Sociedad (Spain) and Lanus (Argentina) both received my CV. I have now also applied for 4 more clubs, with Levante, Udinese, Brescia and Atletico Madrid being the next 4. The only offer I am taking seriously is Atletico Madrid. A tasty budget, and nice wage bill along with a strong squad should help me.

And now it's time to wait.

In a shock u-turn on his managerial activity, ex-Málaga CF boss Joe Dowley has taken over the reigns in England: at West Midlands side Aston Villa. The news comes one and a half months after Dowley was sacked in unfortunate circumstances at Málaga. He will take over from Paul Lambert, who left the club after a poor first half of the season.

We will bring you more news as it arrives.
Unlucky to get fired, but I'm looking forward to another class Aston Villa story :D
Thanks mate :( ...I was sad being fired, but now I have a nice budget to work with at Villa :)
