A nice start to the story, although not to the league season. There is still plenty more to play for, go and do us proud! :)
Thank you Sonalexwild. I am hoping that the team can get some wins before too soon or else it will be a depressing season. Thanks for reading.
It is difficult to talk as if the first season hasn’t already happened but I think it will improve the flow of the story if I do.

You seem to be losing your touch at posting first after my updates. I think it is already clear that this is one of the toughest leagues to do well in as you come up against so many ex-premiership teams. I had no complaints about the Sunderland result as we put up a good fight but we just tired towards the end. Thanks for reading Pauker.

The team does have some quality players and we are fortunate to have experience from the likes of James Vaughan and Jermaine Beckford which I think will be vital as the season progresses. I hope it can become a successful story and your comments will help towards that. Thanks for reading.

I have to agree 100% in regards to Huddersfield Town’s lack of consistency. The club went on one of the longest unbeaten runs in footballing history that had us start in League One and it ended in League One; one of the most pointless unbeaten runs in footballing history too.
We have a lot of potential in the squad and it is just unlocking that potential which is the key to a successful season. Thanks for reading.

Why thank you. I can’t complain too much about the start to the season as it is going to be a long, arduous season where we will suffer many defeats I feel. Thanks for reading as always.

September

This month got off to a cracking start with a win against local rivals Barnsley and it looked like a bit of consistency was coming into the team once we dismissed Burnley. The match against Charlton Athletic was a frustrating one as I was desperate for us to be going into the tough final two games of the month with three wins under the belt. We were desperately unlucky against Crystal Palace and if it wasn’t for the brilliance of Wilfred Zaha we would have won that game.

We are doing very well at dominating possession as the tactics allow for that (tactic choice two). However, with just one striker up front the goals are lacking. The team are settling into the passing style I want them to be playing with but we are going to need to be getting more goals as the season progresses.

Player of the Month – Jermaine Beckford

Not too bad a month there mate, unlucky about the Palace and Derby games. I'm sure that you will be up in the prem in no time :P .

They were quite frustrating results as we seemed to want to win a lot more than they did. I think it is just going to take us a while to settle into the Championship level of football. Thanks for reading.

This was an extremely pleasing month. I was honestly, very worried about going into the local derby against Leeds United after not making the most confident of starts to the Championship season. It was absolutely vital that we at least put in a good performance, even if we didn’t come out with the three vital points. You can imagine my surprise when we came away with a 1-0 win from Elland Road. It was even more surprising when we then managed to dismiss Peterborough and Middlesbrough by taking the unconventional defensive approach. It was a shame we lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers but overall a very successful month which has seen us move up to the league places.

Player of the Month – Anthony Gerrard

Talking about him, how is Anthony Gerrard? :P

To be honest I'm only interested because he's related to Stevie...

Anthony Gerrard is our best centre back and he actually, isn't all that bad. He did have a very good first season for us and put in some good performances. He isn't a patch on ol' Stevie G though. Thanks for reading.

What a fantastic month which saw us defeat promotion contenders. The best moment came with beating Blackburn Rovers 3-0 which saw us put in our most confident performance of the season so far. It was a great match to watch from start to finish. The team appear to be becoming more confident with the tactics I have introduced, however, tactics choice two has now been ditched. The reasoning behind this is that the players are not blessed with pace and tactics choice one relies on the wingers to be able to bomb up and down the wings. This wasn’t happening. Therefore, tactics choice one and three are the only ones that remain and they suit the abilities of my playing squad much better. Lets hope that we continue this great run of form, which has seen us enter the playoff spots, into the next busy month.

Transfer Rumours

This Huddersfield Town squad, over time, will need to be redeveloped from top to bottom. However I have made it clear in previous posts that this is going to have to involve a lot time and effort. The team are performing very well as you can see from recent results, however, if a quality player, who I feel can improve the squad, becomes available then I am going to grab this opportunity. Rumours have been going round that Danny Simpson, the Newcastle United right back wants out of the club. The Newcastle United chairman seems to be willing to allow this to happen for a reasonable price.

I have made a bid for Danny Simpson which has been accepted so we are now entering contract negotiations.
Some pretty good results mate, great win against Blackburn! :D Keep up the good work and you'll be in the Prem soon! :D

It was a very pleasing month and to be honest we were very unlucky against Millwall. I am really hoping that the we can continue this good run of form into next month and months after that. Thanks for reading.

All in all this has to be seen as a very positive month, especially seen as it has been just as long as the previous month. The game against Ipswich Town was, in one word, dramatic. James Vaughan had been on a baron spell which had lasted close to 500 minutes without scoring a goal. In this game...he got a hat-trick. It was an amazing performance which appears to have given him the confident boost he has needed and his average rating is slowly creeping up. The rest of the month was pretty plain sailing with the disappointment of the result against Nottingham Forest thrown in.

I am extremely pleased with how the season has gone so far. The board of directors had set me the target of consolidation; simply they wanted me to retain Championship status for a second season. If things carry on the way they are they can consider that goal achieved. I do think it is going to be extremely difficult to catch Wolverhampton Wanderers as they are in sensational form. The difficulty is that if you even draw one match, or even worse, lose one, it can mean you fall up to 5 places at times. This is surely why the Championship is considered as one of the most difficult leagues to be in. However, it is a challenge I am relishing and with two new signings on the way I am confident we can maintain this good run of form which will hopefully see us stay in a playoff spot.

Player of the Month – James Vaughan

Excellent first half of the season, continue at this rate and promotion is definitely on the cards :D

I have been quite impressed with the team's start to what was expected to be a very difficult season for us. Thanks for reading.

One More Signing

I have taken the decision that the club could do with an experienced midfielder, who won’t expect a lot of game time, on a low wage and who can help the club see out matches when in winning positions. I had scouted a few players but to no avail. I had during pre-season given Papa Boupa Diop a trial and he had impressed me. After searching for him again I found that he still had no club and when I enquired about his contract demands I was pleasantly surprised. I have decided he is the man that can help the club for the remainder of the season. He is only going to be given a one year contract, which will not be being renewed, at £1.5k a week. If he manages to make 30 appearances for the club then this will increase. There aren’t 30 games of the Championship season remaining which means his contract will not be increased.

Overall I see this as a great signing for Huddersfield Town and shows that we can attract some former “big” name players.
