Great win James, unbelievable!

I would definitely describe it as unbelievable. It was such an impressive start to the game that we simply deserved the win. It was nerve racking towards the end though. Thanks for reading.

March

The result against Manchester United will go down in folklore around the Huddersfield Town stadium. It was a tremendous effort that saw us progress to the semi final of the competition when we were only expected to reach the third round. We have made great progress in the Championship with the team now being involved in a great league title battle with Wolverhampton Wanderers, who we were lucky to get a draw against. The month finished on a very big high which will stand us in good stead for the next month which will be the start of the winding down period to the end of the season.

Unfortunately for us, James Vaughan, who has ended up being one of the players of the season after a very poor start, has now been ruled out for the remainder of the season. I am really hoping that this does not have a knock on effect on the team’s moral and performances. It is more of a worry as it Sean Scannell had gone a lot of football without scoring until the Millwall. Jermaine Beckford has also been very inconsistent so it is looking like Lee Novak will have to lead us to league title glory.
Also on a side note the club have been able to secure a playoff position which is a tremendous achievement as nobody had even given us a chance. This is good security in case we slip up towards the end of the season.

Unlucky with the injury to Vaughan, but your results are still excellent!

I was gutted when I read the inbox message saying he was so badly injured. I am not going to take it as face value though as my physio's judgements aren't of the highest ability. Thanks for reading.

Thanks to everyone who has read the story so far. I am amazed that it has already surpassed (just about) the 1000 reads mark. I hope you continue to enjoy this story as it is great fun to write.

FA Cup Semi Final Draw

Match Review

Prior to this game three key players in my squad were injured with at least two of them being ruled out until the end of the season. James Vaughan has been in scintillating form recently and he was ruled out for up to three months with a torn hamstring. Joel Lynch was next with him being ruled out for at least 2 months. Adam Clayton closely followed with him being ruled out for the next three weeks; by the time he comes back it will be hard for him to settle back into the teams.

Going into this important game on the back of these injuries was not the ideal preparation; however, I was confident we could come away with a win that would see Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup final against yet another Premiership opposition. Despite the negative preparation the team fought and battled until the very end and the replacements for the injured three performed admirably. Jermaine Beckford has hit good form just when we need him to and his brace helped us progress to the final. The team have shown everyone what we are capable of in this competition and that you should never write off the “lesser” teams. I am very proud of this achievement as nobody would give us a chance against any of the teams were came up against in this cup run. I am so excited for the FA Cup final and I am really hoping that I can win some silverware with my hometown.
Excellent win over Cardiff, FA Cup final is a magnificent achievement! Some top division silverware could be yours soon!
OMG! EL in the season perhaps?!
Well done mate, great work...gone a long way since I last read and you have done brilliantly! Hala Huddersfield!
It was such a good feeling to beat them in the FA Cup, especially as we have found it hard against them in the league this season. It will rank high amongst my Football Manager achievements if I manage to win the cup with Huddersfield Town. Thanks for reading.

I don’t understand that question! Haha. Thanks for reading though Pauker.

The season is moving along nicely at the moment. I really hope we can continue the good form we have shown in the cup in the league. We should push for a playoff spot but it would be great to achieve automatic promotion. Thanks for reading.

April

This was a rather mixed month and you can clearly see fatigue starting to settle in. The players are absolutely shattered after having to perform to such a high level in not just the Championship but also in the FA Cup run. I am confident however that we will finish on a high that will see us win our remaining Championship games and also perform well in the FA Cup final. It was also clear to see that we missed Adam Clayton and James Vaughan in this month as we just weren’t as confident going forward; Clayton should be returning for the last two games of the season which great news for us.

Wow this story is unbelievable – you truly are a talented Football Manager! If the results in my save where as half as good as yours I’d be a happy man. :P
You'll get a EL place if you win the FA Cup I believe! Anyways, keep it up!

Ah well thank you for those kind and positive words about my story. I wouldn't say I am talented at the game but thank you for suggesting so. The results are getting better and better and I am really hoping we continue in this same fashion for a long time to come. Thanks for reading.

I hadn't actually thought of that Pauker. It would simply be amazing if Huddersfield Town ended up competing in the Europa League. Thanks for reading as always.

May

May just consists of the Championship match with the last game of the season being the FA Cup final against Queens Park Rangers which will be a nervous affair. This match against Bristol City was simply used as a match to rest key players and give the likes of Clayton and Scannell, who have returned from injury, a run out to gain match fitness again. It was great to see the team finish the Championship season on a high and some of the players in this match have given me something to think about when it comes to my team selection for the cup final.
