Many reports have confirmed that Inter Milan manager Giuseppe Bergomi has about €40M or more to spend on new players during the upcoming January transfer window, and considering this newfound financial strength and Inter's high-flying status in the league and in Europe, new signings are inevitable.

Many fans of the Nerazzurri are eagerly awaiting the window, with big names such as Jan Kirchoff, Antoine Greizmann, Rogerio, and Andreas Stage being heavily linked with the Italian champions. While each player would bring new talent to the Giuseppe Meazza, Bergomi has taken up an "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" mentality.

"We have a very strong first team squad of 23 players and 4, 5, 6 young players in the U20's that are fighting for first team action," he said in a press conference. "On top of that, the team is playing very good football, and we look like a very strong team with good chemistry. Because of this, we will not spend for spending's sake and will only enter the market for the right player."

The only major rumor that seems to carry a grain of truth surrounds the future of €17.75M right winger Diego Fabbrini. The Italian arrived among much fanfare due to a very strong season with Genoa two years ago, before making only making 3 EPL appearances for Man City. The expert dribbler has found it tough to get an extended run in the team due to Raheem Sterling's good form, and may be shown the door.


Another Manchester City flop, Eduardo Salvio, and Gremio winger Peruibe are apparently top of Bergomi's list as a potential replacement for Fabbrini. However, the fiery Italian said this on Fabbrini's future: "He is a player that we are very happy with at this time. Diego [Fabbrini] has been doing well for us and we have no plans on selling him after just 6 months at the club."

It is widely expected that the Nerazzurri will make a move for Werder Bremen starlet Andreas Stage. The Danish attacking midfielder, who has scored 11 goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances so far this season at just the ripe age of 19, has a great relationship with Giuseppe Bergomi, who he worked with while the Italian was still part of the Denmark setup.


"Andy [Stage] is a very good young player, and players like that are always welcomed at Inter. He would be a good fit, but for now he is contracted to Bremen and so I will not comment further."

It's bound to be an interesting January window for Inter Milan. Who will they sign? Who will they sell? We'll have to wait and find out!

Inter Milan has dipped its toes into the transfer market for the first time this January by signing Jan Kirchhoff on a free transfer from Mainz. The physical center back will join the Nerazzurri at the start of the summer window.

"I'm very happy to have completed this move," said Kirchhoff. "I am excited to have the chance to play at the highest level next season with Inter. I want to thank Mainz and all the fans here for everything they've done for me."

The 26 year old German, who can also play in defensive midfield, had come up through Mainz's youth system and properly broken into the first team in 2010-2011 season, going on to make 183 Bundesliga appearances for the senior side, finding the net 3 times.

Some fans are wondering why Kirchhoff has been signed as Inter already have promising young players such as Emerson Luiz and Simone Pierguidi eagerly waiting for more first team action. Most Nerazzurri diehards would rather see the youth be bled through than a new German defender.

Giuseppe Bergomi has swiftly attempted to silence the early critics of the signing, saying, "Jan is an excellent footballer. He will not only provide depth in the defensive positions but also provide excellent competition to M'Vila in the defensive midfield role. I am delighted to be able to bring him to the club."

Just no mate. Just no. Luiz and Pierguidi should be ahead of him. Just no.

Having not made a single first-team league appearance in his entire career, Vid Belec was the definition of an unlucky back-up goalkeeper. Working hard in training every day, only to know that world-class shot-stoppers like Samir Handanovic, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Fernando Muslera would always be ahead in the pecking order.

One fateful day during the 2014-2015, Handanovic went down injured mid-match, and with Bardi injured already, it was Belec's day at last. He went on to make 9 appearances that season as well as 6 the next until finally again this season not making a single one. In those 15 appearances, Belec became a cult hero, making a number of crucial saves, especially in 2015 against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

At last, the Slovenian has decided he will be moving on, at age 26, to seek more football. Belec signed a pre-contract agreement with Cagliari, who he will join this coming summer. He said to the press, "It's been a long, very difficult, often disappointing, but in the end very interesting time of my life here at Inter. I want to thank Giuseppe [Bergomi] for finally giving me a chance in the first team and believing in me, and the fans for supporting me those few times I managed to play."

Bergomi had this to say on the sale: "Vid was a hard worker through and through, and we wish him the best of luck next season with Cagliari. We'll take this opportunity to bring up Silviano Casella, a 'keeper who has impressed me for the U20's, and get him more chances with the first team."
