March Results

Catania 1-2 Inter

Serie A
Raheem Sterling (26, 31)
Kim Ojo (53)
Giuseppe Bellusci (87)
Raheem Sterling

This was a match I fully expected us to win, but Catania really put up a good fight. Raheem Sterling's pace and dribbling skill down the right have been vital to our success this season, as he proved with his two goal haul. Bellusci managed to pick up 2 yellow cards in 4 minutes and get sent off, threatening our late lead, but we held on.

Inter 2-0 Verona

Serie A
Emerson Luiz (49)
Adam Maher (pen 63)
Emerson Luiz

We didn't play very well in the first half, even against such lowly opposition, but we stepped up big time in the second half. Emerson Luiz has been playing such good football this season and put in a great performance this match, scoring a striker's snap header. I have a difficult decision on who to start at center back alongside Ranocchia now.

Lazio 0-1 Inter

Serie A
Raheem Sterling (8)
Adam Maher (48)
Emerson Luiz

Traveling to the Stadio Olimpico to take on Lazio is always a touch match, but it was that man Raheem Sterling again popping up with a huge goal to get us the win. Emerson Luiz turned in another top performance at the back containing a rather potent Biancocelesti attack. Maher missed a penalty, which could've made the game a lot safer, but in the end we held on to the win very well.

SERIE A

We are the champions of Serie A, and for the 5th time in a row, Inter Milan bring home the Scudetto! What an achievement, to win the league with 8 games in hand, a new record. Juventus are no longer a true challenge to me without their precious Conte, who left two seasons ago.

REVIEW

What a great feeling, to be champions of Serie A yet again! In the remaining eight matches I will give many of my very promising youth players some games to give them experience at the highest level, and we must now focus all of our attention on retaining our Champions League crown. A famous sextuple is on the horizon...

Meh. By this time, I've been expecting 5-0 wins but nothing. Classy Inter.
Pauker: That's just how I roll ;)

INTER LIFT FIFTH STRAIGHT SCUDETTO

When Giuseppe Bergomi took charge of Inter Milan in the summer of 2012, there was a definite optimism about the Nerazzurri faithful, but nobody expected such a quick and glorious return to an era reminiscent of the Golden Days of the 2000's.

Then, under managerial greats Roberto Mancini and Jose Mourinho, Inter Milan swept aside all competition, winning five straight Serie A championships, two Coppa Italia, four Supercoppa Italiana, and, of course, the crowning jewel, the UEFA Champions League trophy in 2010 that capped off the first ever treble in Italian football history.

A period of instability and financial woe followed those glorious days, until at last club legend Giuseppe Bergomi was handed the reigns, and from there the club never looked back.

Fast forward five years, and look back over the outstanding success Inter has enjoyed; yet another five consecutive Scudetti, five consecutive Coppa Italia, three Supercoppa Italiana, a Europa League triumph, and, of course, another UEFA Champions League crown in 2016.

This year's Serie A triumph, however, is different, in that Bergomi has shattered yet another record during his impressive reign over his beloved Nerazzurri. This year, it took only 30 matches to mathematically guarantee the title with 88 points, with second placed Juventus a full 25 points back on 63. This is the earliest ever Scudetto win, done before even April had begun.

Philippe Coutinho led the way to the title with 14 goals and 8 assists in 25 matches, picking up some of the goalscoring that was left empty without the help of Mattia Destro and Ademilson who suffered injury-strewn seasons. Defensively the Nerazzurri also looked strong with Gino Peruzzi and young Brazilian Emerson Luiz rated as the two best performing players in the league.

Inter secured the title at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio thanks to an early Raheem Sterling goal that gave Giuseppe Bergomi's side a 1-0 win that ended in raucous celebrations from the rather large traveling contingent of fans.

"I am absolutely ecstatic. This has been a delightful season, and to win the Scudetto five times in a row is a downright historic achievement. Inter, as a club, have won ten of the last twelve, and if that doesn't make us the greatest club in Italian history, nothing will," said Giuseppe Bergomi.

The fiery Italian boss wasn't satisfied with his season just yet, though. "We've won four trophies already this season, but we can't rest on our laurels. We want to win the Coppa Italia, but the most important prize lays ahead; defending our Champions League crown. If we can do that, talk to me again then, and we'll crack open a bottle of wine."
Meh.
Only 1-0? expected more from Inter, poor result :P
Pauker: :/

Shanked: Oh, how disappointing :P
Another season, another title win. :)
The Madridista: That's just how we roll ;)

UCL QUARTERFINAL AND SEMIFINAL DRAW

Today the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matches were drawn as well as placed in a bracket to determine semifinal matches, and we have a number of tantalizing fixtures to enjoy. Arsenal will take on North London rivals Tottenham, defending champions Inter Milan will face Bayern Munich, Manchester City will play Galatasaray, and cross-town rivals Manchester United will play Valencia.

Arsenal will be looking for vengeance after last season's Champions League final loss against Inter and will hope to reach that stage once again, but must first beat high-flying rivals Tottenham. The Gunners have the advantage in the EPL as they fight Manchester United for tht title, but Spurs, however, will be looking to make club history by reaching the semifinals for the first time ever.

The winner of that two-legged tie will take on the winner of Manchester City vs. Galatasaray. The Turkish giants are perhaps huge underdogs to the 2014 Champions League winners, but are known for their infamous giant slayings in Europe and will look for another scalp against Vitor Pereira's struggling side that sit 7th in the EPL.

Manchester United will take on Valencia, and again the Enlgish side will be the heavy favorite. Valencia are enduring a difficult season in La Liga and are floundering in 6th and may not qualify for the UCL next season while the Red Devils sit atop the EPL, looking to regain the title from Arsenal after two years.

Whoever emerges victorious from that fixture will take on the winner of the 2010 Champions League final rematch between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. On that occasion, the Nerazzurri triumphed, and again last season in this same stage it was the Italian side who came out on top after a thrilling 4-4 draw in Germany. Inter have already won the Serie A and so can now focus all of their attention on this competition.

There are two extremely tantalizing options for the final itself. One option is that we will see the Manchester Derby in the final in what would be an absolutely outstanding encounter in the magical Camp Nou to see who really is the best side in the city. The other is that we could see a rematch of last season's final between Inter and Arsenal; never before in history have the same two teams played in consecutive finals of the European Cup.
Tough Tough Challenge against Bayern, but I think you'll manage to win it and in the end, win the Champions League again. :D
Great stuff mate, and I'm very proud of what you accomplished yesterday, on her.. BEEEEEEWWWWWBBS!
Good read as always-

That is a lot of English teams left in the CL and not a lot from Spain.
Of course Neal wins the title and the CL and the cup :P haha I mean Bergomi! Tough luck with Denmark but a big change moving to Italy...will he be able to bring home the European cup or World Cup? I look forward to finding out :P Great progress mate fantastic to see the story going so strong still
