Danny Welbeck Leaves On Loan
In an unexpected move, striker Danny Welbeck has left Manchester United for the season, in order to join Newcastle United for the rest of the season. Welbeck will return to Old Trafford at the end of the season, but Newcastle will pay £275k per week in order to keep Welbeck at the club for the last few months. The move has shocked many, as Newcastle are sitting in third place, just behind United, and will try to push for the space of either Manchester club.
Danny Welbeck has faced some tough times so far in Manchester, with Robert Lewandowski, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez and Carlos Fierro all battling with the English striker to start for the Red Devils. Welbeck managed just 3 games all season for the club, not scoring but setting up one goal. Moyes favoured the other strikers, causing an upset for Welbeck.
It is suggested that David Moyes may have tried to actually sell Welbeck, but either offers were off a value to low to the liking of the Scot, or no offers were received. However, Milan made suggestions to an offer of around £10 million spread over 48 months, which was immediately rejected.
With Newcastle, Danny has been given a role as a first team member, and is expected to play in most, if not all games the Toon play, in order to push for a place in the top two. This already seems to be one of their best seasons, but will what to go even better. Welbeck may even face Manchester United, with his team due to travel to Old Trafford in early league.
Danny Welbeck is carried valued at £12 million and is earning £50k per week.
