REAL MADRID SAVES DRAMATIC THREE POINTS AT PACKED POLJUD
HAJDUK 3-3 REAL MADRID R. VARANE O.G., T. KIŠ, M. LJUBI?I? - C. RONALDO, PEPE, K. BENZEMA
A magnificent Poljud cheered it's hometown hero's on, but it almost looked like it would be in vain, as Steven Luštica conceded a weak penalty for Hajduk to go down 1-0 early on in the first half. It was devastating, as it looked like Hajduk were closing Real Madrid down very well. But it wasn't long before Tomi Kiš forced an own goal by Raphael Varane. An otherwise very good Iker Casillas just barely missed a cross before Varane got on the end of it, bumbling the ball over goal. He attempted to save it, but only succeeded in blasting into the top of the net.

Hajduk (somehow) managed to hold onto the result until the end of the first half, and came out excited to play more. Pepe was having other ideas though, and after Goran Blaževi? managed to tip out a corner kick, the defender was waiting on the other side, and hit a fantastic header into the other side of the box, which Goran Jozinovi? just missed the clearance of. 2-1.

Tomi Kiš, again, wasn't having it. The 20 year old dashed up the pitch, and shot, before Iker Casillas pulled a massive save out of his hat. It rebounded to Pepe, who didn't manage to hold onto the ball for long enough, because Kiš snuck around and got to the ball, this time putting it far out of reach from Casillas. This, however, injured him a bit, and the striker went off in the 70th minute to be replaced by 17 year old wonderkid, Mario Ljubi?i?, the man who scores in every game.

Mijo ?aktaš, also nursing a knock, ran up the left before cutting inside, then cutting outside again in the 87th minute, looking for all three points. Hajduk was playing on Real's level now, but they wanted it more... oh they wanted it so much more. And, with that, ?aktaš finally tricked Varane right, before making it left, and floated a beautiful cross into the path of the 17 year old Mario Ljubi?i?, who, calmed it down on his chest before ricocheting the ball into the top right corner. Mario Ljubi?i?, in three games (all as a sub) has not failed to score for Hajduk since his arrival from Slaven Belupo, and this one, his latest and greatest, prompted Bendiš to run down the touchline, screaming from excitement. Hajduk lead 3-2.

It was a simple mistake from Hajduk's back line that brought Bendiš back to earth, as Karim Benzema got a lucky shot in, but at the press conference Mourinho conceded that Hajduk had been the better team, and Bendiš, who had been going through a bit of a tough time, couldn't stop smiling.

And after the match Bendiš was at his café... and, well... it didn't even close last night...

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP H AFTER 3 MATCHES:
1.) REAL MADRID: 7, GD: +5
2.) HAJDUK SPLIT: 4, GD: -2
---------------------------
3.) FC BASEL: 3, GD: -2
4.) AJAX AMSTERDAM: 3, GD: -1
Great draw there, considering it was against the reigning European champions, even though you were in the lead in the last few minutes.
It's always a great day when you can get points against Real Madrid. Seems like it would have been a hell of a game to watch, too!
Great result VS Real, I will continue following :)
Brilliant result, and a cracking game! Fantastic not only to draw but to put 3
goals past Casillas!

BENDIŠ FORCES AJAX PLAYOFF FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE KNOCKOUTS
REAL MADRID 1-1 HAJDUK - ATTD. 78 960 - F. ANDRIJAŠEVI?
Bendiš took Mourinho's words to heart. If you don't concede, you can't lose.

Unfortunately, Hajduk conceded in the 17th minute, but they managed to fight back. Marcelo conceded a rare penalty in the 40th minute, and, with all of Madrid cheering against him, managed to place the ball into the top corner. Casillas didn't stand a chance. 1-1.

The second half was frightfully boring, while Ajax were thrashing Basel (3-0 final score), but Bendiš can be supremely satisfied with his team's defensive efforts. The closest Real got to the lead was a Ronaldo free kick that clipped the post on its way out in the 70th (although, the freekick was from such close range that Bendiš's heart nearly stopped...

Looking at the results though, Real is nearly through. They have two matches, once against Ajax and one against Basel, and, statistically, their loss isn't happening.

Bendiš plays his next game against Basel away. Unless Ajax somehow beat Real, Bendiš honestly doesn't care how that result goes. A win would be ideal, because it would then mean a draw is enough against Ajax to go through, but nothing rules the qualification out.

We can't wait until the last game of the Groups happen, because if Bendiš keeps these upsetting shenanigan's up... well, Hajduk may very well make it to the knockouts...

GROUP H AFTER 4
1.) REAL MADRID: 8
2.) AJAX AMSTERDAM: 6
3.) HAJDUK SPLIT: 5
4.) BASEL: 3

MEANWHILE... AT A CAFÉ IN SPLIT
"Who is doing the graphics for the newspapers these days? They're magnificent! Look at Bernabeau in the background, looking all intimidating."

MAGICAL SUPER-SUBS SMASH RIJEKA
RIJEKA 2-5 HAJDUK - T. KIŠ, I. MILI?EVI? M. ?AKTAŠ, P. BAŠI?, M. LJUBI?I?
5 different people scored in Hajduk's win over Rijeka. But the result was not as clear cut as it seemed until the last few minutes.
Tomislav Kiš opened, yet again, with a magnificent effort. Andrijaševi? lofted a ball to the 20 year old, who lifted the ball over Samuel before dancing past Luka Mari?, and smashing a magnificent shot from just outside the box past Croatia U21s goalkeeper, Simon Sluga. A shoe in for the goal of the month award. Not 10 minutes later, Ivan Mili?evi? dashed up the flank for his 4th goal in 8 appearances this season and 2-0.

Rijeka came back, with last year's top goalscorer (24), Danijel Cesarec placing a shot just past Blaževi? before Mijo ?aktaš smashed another fine effort past Sluga from the corner of the box just before the half.

Cesarec went to score again, infuriating Bendiš who responded by throwing Baši? and Ljubi?i? on. Baši? opened his account for Hajduk in the 70th minute, receiving a brilliant pass from Kiš, staying onside before shooting excellently into the corner, before Kiš assisted once more to Mario Ljubi?i?, now famous for being the youngest player to score in the Champions League (! and against Real Madrid too (!)) for his 4th goal in 7 league appearances.

All this before Hajduk travel to Basel to, hopefully, put themselves in pole position to go one step further in the Champions League. The furthest they've gotten in nearly 3 decades.
Another fantastic result against RMA :D
Soooo close in the CL mate, great stuff. A good final couple of games now that you have the two RM draws out of the way and you should be through, i'll keep em crossed for you just to be safe :)

BENDIŠ BARELY WINS BATTLE OF BASEL
BASEL 1-2 HAJDUK - ATTD. 38 026 - D. MAGANI?, Y. SOMMER O.G.
Yes, we agree... there were altogether too many "B"s in that title... An overexpectant Asian father would be displeased...

Anyway... Onwards:

Danijel Magani?, making an unexpected début scored the opener while Yann Sommer scored an own goal just before the end of the first half to give Hajduk all the chance in the world to go through. Especially since Ajax was thrashed by Real Madrid in Amsterdam. ("Ajax Atrocious at Amsterdam Arena"). Magani? was rushing up the right flank, and, after a double pass with Mili?evi?, the full back inexplicably managed to cut inside to get an open shot on goal, which he took.

Goran Milovi? nearly got a 2nd goal, but Yann Sommer caught it, only to blast it past the keeper for 0-2 at Sankt Jakobs Park. Matias Mier was too late in the 83rd.

With the result, Bendiš needs to hold a draw at home against Ajax, and he makes it through his group alive. Unless Tomi Kiš scores 9 goals, and RM lose against Basel at home though, he's going to be stuck with 2nd place.
Barely won is still won! F*** you Ajax, Hajduk coming through. Great result mate.

PS. the graphics are awesome
Graphics= Great. Result=Great. Story=Great

FASTEST GOAL IN CROATIAN HISTORY
DINAMO 0-2 HAJDUK - I. DŽONI, M. ?AKTAŠ
13 seconds into the Eternal Derby in Zagreb, Ivan Džoni scored for the first time in 15 hours, breaking his duck and the record at the same time. The young striker hasn't scored in ages, but, fortunately, has had Tomi Kiš doing most of the work, as the two kids have been linking up together fantastically.

The pre-match talk was less than peachy for Hajduk though, which might be why Džoni scored so fast,

"I WILL NOT LOSE TO THAT FAT BASTARD MANAGING THAT STUPID CAPITAL CLUB.

"We are paid less, granted, but look at that team. Here's the team list:

I. KELAVA (GK), Š. VRSALJKO, M. MUSA, L SAMATEH, V GÃMAN, H JÓNASSON, D ?EHI?, O. K. SALNAES, A. AQUINO, M. KOVA?I?, B ALEMAN.

"Now, would anyone care to count the amount of Croatians on that list? Don't even get me started on the amount of people from Zagreb, or even trained at Dinamo. Just the amount of Croatians. 4.
FOUR FROM FUCKING ELEVEN. Those people don't even know what it MEANS to play for a club you love. FOUR!!!! If I showed them a dollar, they'd probably flip right there on the spot.

"Sure they're paid a bit more, but let me let you in on a secret. They're not playing in the Champions League. They didn't play last year, they're not playing this year, and they're DEFINITELY NOT playing next year. So those overpaid foreigners over there... they leave. They leave in one year or two, and stagnate for the rest of their careers as Mami? (Dinamo's owner) counts money in his office. I'll let you in on another secret: Do you know what I do in my office?

mumbling "No..."

"I go through letters from kids all over the area who would kill to be in your shoes. The kids that would play for free. I write them back, I give them a shot. You know who was writing me not two years ago... Topi?. He wanted a chance, and I gave it to him. I gave each and every one of you guys a chance. And YOU took it. I don't have money to count, but what I do have is a town that loves you, and a city of kids, teenagers, hell, adults even, who want to be in your shoes

"SO GO OUT THERE AND SHOW ME YOU DESERVE THEM!"

A handshake, a whistle, and 13 seconds later, the score was 0-1 for the visitors, as most of the population of Split was just settling down. If you blinked, you missed it...

MEANWHILE... IN A CAFÉ IN SPLIT
"I don't know what to do..."

"-What?"

"We've never been this close. Last year, we were just trying to keep results respectable when we somehow managed to get third place by the grace of God."

"-And?"

"Well, you know, this year, I took Real. I took two points from the defending European Champions, and I ran away with them. Now I need to face the same team that throttled me and hope to pull something from it."

"-You're playing at home, right?"

"Yeah?"

"-Well then, don't worry... it's 30 000 to 11... what could possibly go wrong..."

Love it! Simply love it. Your writing style is brilliant mate, i've been following this a while but only recently found time to comment (on almost every update lol) but each update has so far made me laugh, made me invest real emotion in your save and, the main thing, has made me want more! Keep it up.
Cool story bro :P
