Bendiš was the first to storm the pitch, as the charismatic manager dashed from his seat into a massive celebration with his team, who threw him into the air. The rest of the backroom staff followed shortly after, and then the fans. Oh the fans.

Ivan Džoni continued his fine form since breaking his scoring duck against Dinamo Zagreb. Always the quick one, he opened the account in the 2nd minute, before Mario Malo?a headed one in the 6th. This was enough to send Bendiš into some sort of a frenzy, as he had expected the Dutch to completely smash him (hence the slightly more conservative formation). Sigporrson pulled one back in the 11th, but Džoni wasn't having it, scoring his 2nd in the 22nd, and finishing off his hattrick in just the 30th minute. 4-1.

After the half, Ajax got one back, but it wasn't enough, as Mirko Oremuš, on his return, managed to score, closing the game off in the 85th, and, somehow, giving the club which no one gave a glance at, the chance of a lifetime. The pitch didn't empty out for half an hour, and Josip Radoševi?, who expected his return to Split to be one of glory, finished it off with a sad look at Bendiš, as if to say "I'm sorry... bring me home".

BENDIŠ SIGNS MARIN LJUBI?I? - "WE'RE BRINGING THEM BACK"
As the transfer season opened up, Bendiš declared that he wouldn't be signing any of Split's players, referring to the current leader in MotM awards, a defender, and a former target of Hajduk, who are all running out on their contract. "They are not good enough for the first team, and the Ante Rebi? (the striker) will not break into our first team. He might have had he joined when we wanted him, but now... no."

He also went into his regular rant about how he wouldn't be spending a lot of money, but hinted that there was, in fact, a transfer on the cards, which we would know the details about in a few days

Former Hajduk player, Marin Ljubi?i?, who moved to Tavria in Ukraine back in 2011 is set to rejoin HNK Hajduk at the end of his contract in Split. The defensive midfielder will likely provide backup for Antonio Mili?, just in case the youngster gets injured. But Ljubi?i? (26) is miles ahead of Steven Luštica in terms of quality, and will replace one of the few non-home-grown players at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, it looks like Bendiš may attempt to bring Josip Radoševi? in on loan, as he has had a torrid time adapting to life in Amsterdam. Quite simply, he feels he has been alienated by the club, and despite holding Ajax's #6 and a first eleven berth, the player would like to go on loan.

The question is... can Bendiš make it happen...

MEANWHILE... HAJDUK VS. ARSENAL, BUT THAT'S HARDLY THE HIGHEST PROFILE TIE OF THE ROUND

HAJDUK HOSTING ARSENAL AT HOME
It is argued, more often than not, that if Hajduk play like they did against Madrid, they should be able to take out Arsenal.

The problem is that Hajduk never beat Madrid. In fact, the closest they got was that "just nearly" 3-3 draw in Split, where Benzema scored at the death.

This is different. Arsene wants this. Arsenal haven't had a trophy for a long time, and yet, there club is only getting better. André Schurrle joined Arsenal in the fall, where the Londoners topped their group, along with the free transfer, Keisuke Honda from CSKA. Not only that, but Olivier Giroud has also been pulling off some fantastic performances recently, and is currently the Premier League top goalscorer, with 14.

Meanwhile, Hajduk are in 2nd place, 4 points off the pace than Zadar. Although, Zadar don't have Tomi Kiš, who from 18 appearances in the Croatian first division, has 12 goals.

His record in Europe though, is much better. Kiš has 29 goals in 34 appearances overall, and that is what might save Hajduk. Because, while Croatia and England are hardly comparable, Giroud only has 15 from 33... and that's hardly acceptable.

And, last of all, perhaps Arsenal has the far superior team, you always have to consider who wants it more. With Arsenal, Alberto Calvo (regen), Gibbs, Walcott and Wilshre are the only ones who owe something to the team. With Hajduk, only Janža hasn't grown up with the club, and even he knows what the clubs means.

You never know. Hajduk may come up with something here...

Welcome to Poljud. The stadium, where even Real Madrid can't get out unscathed. You Mr. Wenger, are in for quite the treat.

Earlier in the week, Arséne Wenger had said that his club had the easiest draw in the entire first round, and he looked forward to the warm-up before next week. In fact, he was so confident as to predict by what scoreline he would come out of Split with. The Frenchman predicted a mild return of 3-4 goals, while Mannone was supposed to concede 0.

What Arséne forgot was that this was Poljud. Small it may be, but its fans rival those of Dortmund's, and you're not going to get that easy a time against bloody Borussia Dortmund fans, are you? No. You're not. In fact, Wenger was lucky to get out of Poljud with his dick in his hands, because the way Hajduk played against Arsenal... well, that was gorgeous.

Ivan Džoni opened it all up just after the half hour, sending the stadium into an even larger frenzy. Since Oremuš's return from injury, the entire front line has been doing better, showcasing that, while Mili?evi? is good, only Mirko Oremuš will be able to set up 5 goals against Ajax Amsterdam. Against all odds, Hajduk walked back into the dressing room with the lead 1-0.

But then Wenger started getting lucky. Kieran Gibbs scored a freak goal against Goran Blaževi? in the 54th, before Olivier Giroud somehow ended up in front of the goal all alone. It happened, and Keisuke Honda found him. But, it happened. Arsenal had the lead. 1-2.

And Hajduk fought, and they fought. But they weren't doing what Arsenal was pulling, which was essentially like playing against Stoke. Arsene had picked up 5 yellow cards, and, in the 89th, the Japanese Keisuke Honda picked up his second. Just. Outside. The. Box.

Kiš wasted absoluely no time at all (in the 89th minute) shooting and smashing a shot off the bottom of the bar. Vito Mannone though, missed it, and a certain Mirko Oremuš popped up again, and showed the world why Hajduk is still in this.
