HAJDUK START PART TWO OF THE SEASON WITH A WIN
HAJDUK 2-0 SPLIT - ATTD. 17 147
?aktaš and Andrijaševi? scored within two minutes of each other in the first 20 minutes to let Hajduk get started at the second part of the season. As the Croatian league has only 12 teams, each team plays each other 3 times, and, after one set of matches Hajduk has posted a rather convincing lead, with 9 more points than Dinamo, who is in second.

The scoring was opened as Filippo Carobbio found Mijo ?aktaš alone on the left flank. The 20 year old's first shot bounced right off Hrvoje Sunara but the rebound, luckily, came right back to him, and this time, he made no mistake. Ozobi?, filling in for Oremuš (suspended, 3 yellows) assisted the second goal a mere 70 seconds later, as he cut a ball back to the waiting Andrijaševi? who pummeled the ball into the top corner.

Goran Blaževi? had to save a penalty, and make a fantastic 1 on 1 save in the second half, but for the most part, it was Hajduk's game.

MEANWHILE... IN THE BOARDROOM
Bendiš is trying to make plans on how to keep winning after January with a tiny percentage of his players. It seems almost certain that his star striker, Ivan Vukovi? will be gone, as his wage alone is crippling the club, while Goran Milovi? (defender) could also be sold. Bendiš has been told by the board that, while they are ecstatic by the top notch performances, they are looking forward to the money that Bendiš will raise by selling players. The problem is, several are in their second to last year of their contracts. If they are not sold now (December) then their prices will be severely cut in August, but their prices might be higher if Hajduk win the league. Although, without the money from the transfers, Hajduk might not make it at all to August...

Ah the dilemma

OSIJEK STRIKE LUCKY
OSIJEK 1-0 HAJDUK - ATTD. 3 789
Dinamo lost to Davor Vugrinec led Slaven Belupo while Osijek defeated the league leaders, Hajduk Split at home, to sort of solidify the league rankings. Now, Hajduk is a convincing 1st, while Slaven Belupo is finally breaking away at 2nd, 7 points off the pace. Dinamo and Osijek are fighting it out for 3rd and 4th, but without the Croatian Cup, those positions are just a matter of a few cents...

It was 21 year old "across the back of the park" defender/defensive midfielder Marko Leškovi? who scored the winner, and to be honest, it was a fairly decent one. Leškovi? let a shot from outside the box fly... the shot bounced off an unlucky Malo?a and into the net of an even unluckier Goran Blaževi? right after half-time, for Osijek to get a simple 1-0 victory in front of their deserted home stand

MEANWHILE... IN THE MANAGER'S OFFICE
Bendiš is looking through desperate measure to cut down the financial crisis at Hajduk. Ivan Vukovi?, now valued at over 450 000 € is looking like he's definitely leaving, as his 200 K € /annum wage will also alleviate the corporate coffers. Bendiš is also heavily looking into playing Anton Maglica, simply so that he can sell him come six months from now. As a league champion, the going rate will be slightly higher, and if Maglica can make a good campaign, a high sell price could be on the cards. Vukovi? is currently playing as a left winger during Mijo ?aktaš's injury, with Maglica playing as a poacher in the middle.

TOMI KIŠ NEARLY WINS IT FOR HAJDUK
HAJDUK 1-1 RIJEKA - ATTD. 19 839
Hajduk's finances may be completely rubbish, but the team sure can draw a crowd...

Rijeka looked to win after Mato Neretljak scored a weak penalty, but Mirko Oremuš had other things to say, as he dashed up the wing to smash home an equalizer in the dying minutes. It was a vital point, as Rijeka is said to be the next big thing, while Hajduk is barely treading water to stay relevant, but it was nearly three points for the home crowd, as an 18 year old Tomislav Kiš was all alone in his only attack. Kiš, only brought on for Maglica in the 70th minute was faster than the entire Rijeka defense and nearly outdid the keeper. But it was not meant to be, as the ball deflected off the keeper and into an unsuccessful corner.

Still with Slaven unable to find the win at Zadar, Hajduk hold on to the 7 point lead.

MAGLICA, KIŠ NET HAJDUK GOALS AGAINST DINAMO
HAJDUK 2-2 DINAMO - ATTD. 29 239
Kiš may have missed out last time (and for that matter, so did Maglica) but in the Eternal Derby, neither of Bendiš's youngsters disappointed.

Anton Maglica continued with his start against Rijeka to make the starting line-up against Dinamo, and, for a while, it looked to be a masterstroke. Carobbio floated a corner in for the first goal, and, while it looked like Vukovi? would get to it and score his 8th campaign goal (bit of a dry spell), he was barged in the back and sandwiched by two Dinamo defenders. Maglica, however, reacted quickly, and netted the opener in the 41st minute. It was a short lead though, as Domagoj Vida managed to get a head onto a corner just before halftime.

The match turned again though, as Vida scored from another corner, this time, Ibañez taking it, leaving Hajduk to struggle in front of its 30 000 dedicated fans. Bendiš wasn't having it though, and with a few changes, notably, Kiš for Maglica, he went after at least a draw. And he got it. Krešo Ljubi?i?, on for Vukovi? at halftime hit an excellent through ball to the 18 year old striker who rounded Domagoj Vida to score from just outside the box on the far post. The perfect end for the 18 year old's first derby.

Slaven Belupo, 2nd, lost to Inter Zapreši? (9th) away 3-2, as Hajduk amass a 8 point lead on the half-way point plus one game of the season. It is November 3rd

SLAVEN BELUPO THRASHES HAJDUK TO THROW TITLE RACE INTO THE AIR
SLAVEN BELUPO 5-2 HAJDUK - ATTD. 2 424
Slaven Belupo could very well overtake Hajduk in the First Division in the coming weeks after completely ravaging the side from Dalmatia. Bendiš's team has run into terrible fortunes as of late, and without a win in several appearances, it looks bad.

Martin Saban won the man of the match award with two goals, but the main problem is that Hajduk have not won in the league in more than a month. It is a desperate time for the club, and Bendiš quickly needs to get the team out of the slump, before he is overtaken by the very good Slaven Belupo. Because, let's face it, if someone needs the money from the League win, it is Hajduk

Hajduk have one more match before the transfer window. Against Cibalia at Poljud (home)

HAJDUK FINALLY WIN
HAJDUK 2-0 CIBALIA - ATTD. 13 824
In the penultimate game before the winter break, Hajduk finally grinded out a win, with Mirko Oremuš to thank against one of the worst defenses in the league. Cibalia dropped out really early, as the winger went through two challenges on the flank before cutting inside and dancing on the out line. He then cut into the 6 yard box and blasted the ball into the net to give Hajduk the lead for the first time since they were winning the Dinamo match way back when. Then, at the half hour mark, Oremuš did largely the same thing, except this time, he crossed the ball and found the waiting Tomi Kiš in the middle, who slid in to poke the ball past the keeper for 2-0.

Ivan Džoni and Krešo Ljubi?i? came on later to relieve the tired Hajduk front line, but there was nothing there for Cibalia, as Hajduk held on to the lead. Hajduk's last game of the fall part of the season is against Istra at home. If they win, they are guaranteed to be the winners of the first two thirds of the season, and, with only 11 games to play after that, perhaps the league, for the first time in 7 years.

Dinamo, meanwhile, are languishing in 5th, almost 6th place, as another loss against Osijek drops them ever further away from even the Europa League spaces. Will ?a?i? get the sack for Christmas? Or will the infamous Mami? brothers keep him in charge.
At last, a victory :)
Some tough results but you got the win at the end of a hard run!

HAJDUK HUMILIATED AT HOME
HAJDUK 0-3 ISTRA - ATTD. 13 955
Bendiš was absolutely furious, as Hajduk capitulated against Istra, conceding three goals at their fortress. Hajduk's defense was simply cut open time and time again, as Mario Malo?a was forced to play on the right wing, and Goran Milovi? simply wasn't fast enough. Mirko Oremuš got his fair share of chances, but with Ahmad Sharbini, formerly of Hajduk, on his game, it was impossible for the Dalmatians to get the win. Sharbini scored one goal and assisted two more, while Osijek scored a 93rd minute winner to grab 1st place for the Fall season.

It is vitally important for Hajduk to get their act together in the final part of the season, otherwise all of Bendiš's work will have been wasted. With Ivan Vukovi? set to leave to help with finances, the loss of the title would spell disaster for the club.

A pretty bad run of form there, so to be still sitting in 2nd with only a point in it is impressive. Love these types of stories, can't wait to see how it progresses.

TRANSFER WINDOW OPENS
HAJDUK MAKE HUGE STRIDES FOR NEXT SEASON. THIS SEASON QUESTIONABLE.

Hajduk have sold Ivan Vukovi?, the club's target man for 500 000 € to Häkan in Sweden. The striker had 200 000 € a year wages, and with Hajduk's financial crisis streaming through all layers of the club, it was only a matter of time. Hajduk however do have replacements for the leading man, as Timmy Bendiš had been preparing for months, starting Tomislav Kiš and Ivan Džoni, along with Anton Maglica up front to get them used to the first team. Kiš looks to be the new front-man for the team.

Meanwhile though, Bendiš has been busy, securing the transfer of Ivan Mili?evi? on a free at the end of his Osijek contract.

http://i40.tinypic.com/zx1n5v.jpg

The Osijek fast winger is one of the best players in the Croatian league, and for Bendiš to secure him on a 4 year contract is quite spectacular.

Unfortunately, Hajduk is in such dire straits that Bendiš has had to let go both the U19's assistant manager and his current assistant manager, Duje Špalj and Ivo Šeparovi? respectively. Whether or not they will be replaced is a matter of time, but, as of this moment, it looks like it's going to be an internal promotion.

Hajduk will, ideally, make 500 000 € in the transfer session. Whether Bendiš can pull that off along with the title remains to be seen

TRANSFER WINDOW OPENS
KREŠO LJUBI?I? and AVDIJA VRSAJEVI? HEAD TO MLS. STOJANOVI? GONE. Thank God.

Real Salt Lake signed Krešo Ljubi?i? for 120 000 €, while Vrsajevi? was signed by the Seattle Sounders for 35 000 €, leaving Hajduk without two of their bit-part players, but without a huge load on their wage budget.

Danijel Stojanovi? moved to Almeria for 220 000 €, as a wing-back for a team almost certain to move into the Liga BBVA. It's rumoured he slashed his wage demands from 150 000 € to 100 000 €.
