The Boss Wants A Word

Today, the day had started off well. My wife made some french toast with eggs and I took the children to their school. I was on time in the training facilities at Juventus and I was never as happy at Turin, not even when I was a player at Juventus. I parked the Audi Q6, when my Samsung Galaxy S4 rings. I grab it from my pocket and pick it up without knowing who it is. It was the chairman, Andrea Agnelli, who wanted to speak with me with urgency. What had I done wrong now? I had not recorded a loss yet and I just had beat rivals AC Milan and German giants, Bayern München. That didn't matter, and to be honest I was nervous. Would it be my departure of the club? I continued into Andrea Agnelli's office and took a deep sigh before entering. Pavel, the board have made a decision behind your back. I was about to yell on Andrea, but I let him continue. We have decided to give you an extra funding of £29 million. However, this will incorporate the departures of Fabio Quagliarella and Alessandro Matri. I sighed, but I said,"Thanks for the extra money, but we might need to buy at least a new striker with these two departures." I sat more easier and we started speaking about the facilities, where I suggested to improve the club's current facilities and he assured me that something will be done soon to improve the club's training facilities.

Juventus complete trio signing

With the recent affirmations of Fabio Quagliarella and Alessandro Matri, Juventus's manager, Pavel Nedved, has acted quickly even before the transfer market has open. However, with the impending arrival of Fernando Llorente, it seems that the club will have too many forwards. Already having the likes of Cavani, Vucinic, Giovinco and the three new January arrivals, it will certainly open some new doors to Giovinco or Vucinic. However, let's move forward into the signings.

The first January signing, is Victor Andrade, a talented youngster that comes from Brazil, but more specifically, Santos. Constantly named the 'New Neymar', Nedved flew in the past month to Brazil two times, and he was spotted watching the U18 matches where Victor Andrade. This, made him send his finest scouts to file reports on the player.



This proceeded to the manager bidding for the player, for less than 1 million pounds, in which he had success and Victor Andrade flew to Turin to have talks with the manager and have his medical. Officially, when Victor Andrade moves to Turin, he will become a Juventus player.

Next on the list, is a player who excelled last season at Serie B, Ciro Immobile. Coming in from the youth ranks of Juventus, the player was never given a chance under the reign of various manager. Last season, he scored a massive 28 goals in 37 appearances for the Serie B champions Pescara. However, this summer he moved in a co-ownership deal to Genoa and following the recent departures of strikers, Nedved decided to pay 2.4 million pounds for the full rights of the striker.



Pundits believe that the striker will play second string to Mirko Vucinic, who is sitting out some matches after some fixture congestion. If he could impress during those matches, he will definitely displace the Montegrin forward.


Saving the best for last, Mirko Vucinic's compatriot, Stevan Jovetic has inked a 73,000 pound p/w deal. After being linked to sign for Juventus since the whole summer, Jovetic got his dream move, according to his Twitter. He tweeted,

" Having Vucinic in my new team will be great! #Juventus4UnbeatenSeason!"

The highly coveted forward has not come to Juventus for the cheap, but people believe it's the bargain of the season. His transfer fee will be almost the 12 million pounds mark, after Fiorentina reduced the initial 20 million pounds that was tagged at the end of the transfer window. Now, he will complete his dreamed move to Juventus, who are bidding a Champions League trophy and are currently on their way to another unbeaten run.

A team like Siena, who are are at the bottom of the table should be the easiest match of the whole year, especially at home. With a strong line-up, we thrashed the Sicilians and managed to score 5 goals, in which 1 was ruled outside. However, it was strange to concede to a club like this, after we still haven't picked up the ball from the back of the net in the Champions League, which we did have a hard group.

With playing the German giants away, it was frightening. The Bayern fans were more than our loyal fans and to be honest, I thought that our unbeaten run would come to an end. Fielding my strongest side available, we started out decently, with Pirlo constantly having to correct Vucinic's mistakes. However, we managed to take a point without conceding or scoring and with another point in the next two matches, we would qualify for the First Knockout Round of the UEFA Champions League.

This match was another easy one, and to be honest, we could bag a high scoring win at home to please the fans before we would depart to Braga. Starting out well by two quick fire goals by Cavani, the match slowly faded away, and the only high profile thing that happened in the second half was the dismissal of Carlos Carmona of Atalanta.

With our recent hammering of Braga in the first fixture of the group stages at home, the players wanted more. Of course, I would've expected the same scoreline, but unfortunately for Braga, my players wanted more.. Especially Sakho. Mamadou Sakho played a pivotal role in this match, earning himself the Man of the Match and scoring 4 goals, which all came from corners. To add to that, Bertolacci and Lichsteiner scored some great goals, one that included passing the ball until Bertolacci had to tap the ball in. Then, when everything seemed calm for us, both Vucinic and Sakho hit them with a double barrel to confirm our continuance in this years edition of the UEFA Champions League stages.

One of the last matches of the month was against the ‘Zebrette’, who fortunately had Di Natale injured for our match. With Gigi not conceding in 240 minutes and with a youngster up instead, I didn’t have any doubts we were going to win the match.

A team that was falling short of expectations, being at 15th place, they needed a win, but they couldn't against the mighty Juve. They did break Buffon's clean sheet and gave us a harder match, but they do possess one of the best squad of the league. Whether their manager, Petkovic, uses his team well, is clearly not working.

Player of the Month

The player of the month is none other than our defensive player, Mamadou Sakho, who scored 4 goals 5 appearances. He saved us from dropping an extra point against Lazio, who were one of the hardest team to beat.

Player of a Worthy Mention

Our captain, Gigi Buffon, had completed over 240 minutes of not conceding, even against a strong Bayern side away. He made marvelous saves and saved two penalties this month. FORZA JUVE!
