2013-06-10 02:53#110595 edu1878 : wow, great start. will be following and hopefully you can take the wolves back to the bright lights of the premier league.

Thanks, that's the plan.

2013-06-10 04:15#110608 Gurdit : You've obviously got the formula right for your league campaign. I think you can start to experiment a bit with squad rotation in the league now against some of the bottom sides to avoid fatigue. You're 4 points ahead with 2 games in hand.

Anything short of winning the league would be unacceptable for you. Maybe as a bonus, you should consider trying to win some other trophy as well, like the Johnstone's Trophy, since you won't be eligible for that once you're back in the Championship, I think.

Yeah!, didn't expect them to react that well to the tactic.

Winning the league should be cake-easy! Good luck in the cup competitions though. A good run would give you a nice bit of cash.
The chairman is pretty generous actually, I asked for a wage budget increase and he gave it to me. Shame it didn't do anything at all.

2013-06-10 10:23#110685 CrazyNinja : Good start and a good read and as a wolves fan i hope to see them back up to the premier league soon
Thanks :)

2013-06-10 11:35#110700 Kane : A great read regen, loving it. I have a soft spot for Wolves so I hope you can do well with them.
Thanks, I've had a soft spot for them since FM12' too.

2013-06-10 11:38#110704 Glenn T : Maybe you can achieve more with Wolves on this save than you did in FM12! Brilliant start to life in League One!
No Glenn, Just no.

Chapter 4: Goals Galore

The Club’s newest addition.

From October till the beginning of November

Another month gone in the journey to the premier league and things are looking awfully good for us, still undefeated in the league and still in both cups (JPT and the FA Cup) which is good because it bring cash rewards to the club, a thing that we need desperately because the clubs seems to be losing an average of 1.5m every month and according to the board it will continue to be this way and maybe become even worse.

There’s good news though, we managed to complete a signing to help with the squad’s injury crisis. Manchester City’s young Belgian center back, Dedryck Boyata, who’ll be joining us on a 3-month loan deal for only 30% of his 7.5k wage, that’s 2.25k per week, a bit expensive but totally worth it.

The player didn’t have any problem at all blending into the squad. In fact, his performances were crucial to us in the past month.

Easiest way to describe the first 3 months at Wolves.
You're awesome in the league, so time to de-prioritise it and rotate heavily and keep up fitness for the cups!

Chapter 5 – Reality Check

November

Another consistent month, top of the league and still in both cup competitions.
There was one obstacle though in a month that seemed almost perfect, a defeat that ended our twenty games unbeaten run. The performance in that game was disgraceful, worst performance of the season so far. The players were making mistakes left and right, dropping the lead twice! Even though we lost the chance of achieving what could’ve been an undefeated season, the team morale is high and we’ve extended the gap even bigger after the defeat.

Transfer wise, I’ve been keeping my eyes on some players in League 2 and the Championship. After all, that’s my scouting range. I can’t afford to scout players further than that because of the same old reason, money issues..

I’m also looking at Boyata’s loan contract which will end in January. Whether to let him go back to his club or renew his loan till the end of the season. After all, he has been a vital part of my side in the past couple of month.
The club is still bleeding money at monthly bases. Swindon though, got took over by a rich investor that cleared all their debts and made the club rich.. *Sigh*

I guess I have to be grateful for that.
Talk about taking the league by storm, you're taking it by an absolute land slide!

Chapter Six – “Will manage for Transfer money “

December

With the transfer window approaching us and the financial situation being awful. I decided to take matter into my own hands by releasing twenty players. Yes, twenty players from the club’s reserves and U18 team. I only released the ones that looked like they weren’t going to have any future at the club. Sadly, those players were on very small wages so I only got an extra 2k from all those releases which increased my wage budget from -23k to -21k. Maybe, I could land a couple of loan signings in the Jan window.

The budget was also going to increase because Boyata will be leaving at the end of the month which will clear up some of the wage budget. But will it be enough?

This month’s fixture couldn’t have been better. Unstoppable in the league, still in both cups and most of the players are in good form, fitness and no injuries.
