Lewandowski Signs For Arsenal

Arsenal have smashed their transfer record after completing the signing of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski for £28M. The star striker joins as Tony Adams first signing as Arsenal manager and this signing clearly shows intent from the new boss.

“Robert is highly talented”, said Adams. “He can become a club legend and at only 23 he has his whole career ahead of him. I want him to become a world class striker and lead the line for the club for many years to come. I want to welcome him to the club and wish him a long and great career at the Gooners”.

The new Gooner later headed to the press room to announce his reasons on why he joined Arsenal and rejected teams like Barcelona and Chelsea,

“This is a great club with great traditions. I know a lot about the club and I want to be a success here in London. It is an honour to sing for such a well-supported club who play Champions League football”.

Many fans were also delighted at the signing with some going as far to say that Lewandowski is the new Robin Van Persie at the Emirates stadium.

Adams to Reshape the Youth System

After a meeting with the board Tony Adams has announced that he will be reshaping the youth system at Arsenal. The academy at Arsenal has a good reputation but out of a team of 18 only 2 on average make it to the first team.

“I want to develop my own squad”, said Adams. “I want a La Masia style type of set up. I want the players I manage to come through the ranks at this club and have the tradition of Arsenal in their veins. We have produced some good players in the past but it is time for a change. I want the u18s and downwards to be involved with the first team more so they can develop further. I want to rely on youth and I want this to be an idea for Arsenal for generations to come. I feel that the club will operate in a more self-sustainable way without having to buy lots of players. At the end of this season many of the youth players will be let go and new players will join the club. I may also shuffle the staff around as I feel some are better at working with younger players than older ones”.

Duo To Leave Arsenal

Arsenal have announced that Arshavin and Squillaci have left the club with immediate effect. Arshavin joins CSKA Moskow for £3M and Squillaci joins Fullham for £1M. The duo were seen as deadwood in the Arsenal squad so fans are delighted that the club have saved money on wages and received good transfer fees for the pair. Tony Adams said that he wanted to wish them well in the future but unfortunately their time at Arsenal was coming to an end.

Adams will want to get rid of more deadwood next summer when players on loan return to the club so Tony Adams will want to sell them on as soon as possible.
Getting rid of the dead wood, you'd be mad to keep Squillaci.

HAHA Ino he is the future of the club
It was a shame that Arshavin never came good for Arsenal...he had such good potential. I will never forgive him for the four goals he scored against Liverpool. Great start to the story. Keep it up.

HAHA Remember that day well only that and Arshavinnnnnnnn against Barcelona showed his true talent.

Gaitan signs for Arsenal

Arsenal have confirmed that winger Nicolas Gaitan has signed for the club on a four year deal. The Argentine joins from Benfica for a reported fee of £15M. The highly rated winger had been linked with Man United but Arsenal beat their rivals to the signature of Gaitan.

“The lad has great talent”, said Tony Adams. “He is just what we need. He can dribble and cross the ball well and we lack that in this team. He should link up well with Cazorla and Lewandowski so we know this transfer will be a success. The fee is right and I feel he is worth it. He will be in the first team a lot and hopefully he will have a big part to play this season.”

Later on the press got to meet the new signing and he had this to say about his new club,

“To play in the Premier League is a dream but to play for Arsenal is an even bigger dream. I grew up watching the invincible’s and I hope I can have a big part to play in Arsenal’s future as a club”.

Also fans have acknowledged that this signing was a good move for Tony Adams who is preparing for his first pre-season as manager of Arsenal.

Pre-Season Results

We have had some good performances and I am very proud of the team and the results we gained before the season starts.

We won all of our games except from two draws. The game against Burnley was the only disappointment but overall the results were good. We won the Emirates Cup so we have a winning mentality set into the team. I mixed and matched the teams as much as possible so youth team players played with first team stars. The new signings also got time on the pitch so it helped them integrate into the team.

Player of the month

Per Mertersacker has been great at the back but he has tough competition if he wants to nail down a starting place in the team.

Next Month

We only have two games but they are both tough. We start with Stoke away on Monday night which will be tough so we want to get a good result. We then follow that up with Swansea at home.

Arsenal sign Papadopoulos

Greek international Kyriakos Papadopoulos has signed for Arsenal for £15M. The highly rated defender has signed a 5 year deal at the Emirates stadium and will join up with his new teammates on Monday.

“It’s great to be here”, said Kyriakos. “It’s an honour to play for such a great club and I want to be a part of a great team. There are great facilities here and I want to further my career at Arsenal and become a key player. I accept that I can’t start every game this season but hopefully I will be able to prove myself and have a first team place”.

The fee was seen by fans as a steel as the defender is seen as one of the most highly talented young defenders of his generation.
Great signing in Papadopoulos, Absolute rock at the back!
