Today with us on Sky Sports News we have Chelsea boss Joe Dowley, who will be talking to us for the first time live. Joe will now be giving us his views on the previous season.

So Joe, how would you describe your season?

I think that we had a very good season, although summed us out of the FA Cup in a disappointing match. I think that we only lost 3 times in the league which is pretty good.

And your Champions League campaign? A great way to win it after last year? And of course that semi-final!

Well yes it was brilliant to win the way that we did, beating a strong Dortmund side in the final. But the semi against Juve, I am still shocked at my players. It was not ideal being 4 goals down, all being away goals. But to win 11-0 away in Italy was just unbelievable!

And what about your transfers throughout the season?

Well, we bought in Rafael, um, Perez for a fair amount, and he was brilliant. Most of the other signings have impressed out on loan at some of our feeder clubs.

Going out though, it was sad to say goodbye to Dani, Dede, Thiago, Erik Lamela, Maximillian Meyer and Kevin Volland, as these players have all become icons at the club. I moved most on for the money and to bring through the next generation of players.

What might you be planning for the future?

I don't have anything planned other than winning!

Well thank you today Joe Dowley, for coming in and summing up your season with us. More breaking news now just in…

In-depth view

Rafael Carrasco

Rafa is a very skilful Spanish attacking-midfielder who is very good at dribbling and at passing. Hopefully he will become my creative force of the future.

Mario Gotze

I bought Mario in to help out just behind the striker, where he could cover all three of those positions. He is a very talented dribbler of the ball, and like Rafa, can pass very well.

Once again, this year we have the honour of speaking to Chelsea and England manager Joe Dowley. Chelsea almost everything this year, while England continued an encouraging build-up towards this month's World Cup in Russia.

So how was your season Joe?

I thought it was near perfect, with two rather shocking results away on the south coast at Southampton, who dominated us and dumped us out of the Capital One Cup, and in the Club World Cup against Bizerte of Tunisia. Other than these it was an excellent season.

And how did your transfers go?

Well, apart from Mario joining us, all the transfers were for the youth teams to boost our pool of youngsters.

Out the exit door, we said goodbye to many players: Alberto Grassi, who I first bought in when I arrived, Siyanda Xulu, Carlos Fierro, Leon, Marc-Andre, Leandro Paredes and Mattia De Sciglio.

And, what we all want to hear, how do you rate our countries chances going into the World Cup this summer?

Well I believe that we can go all the way. We have a very strong squad and I think that we can do it. It may well be the last World Cup's of Wayne's or Ryan Shawcross' careers, so hopefully we can do the nation proud!

Thank you Joe for coming in today, and we hope to see you next year!

In-depth view

Sergiy Yakovlev

Sergiy is definitely the pick of the players here, he is an amazing keeper, better than ter-Stegen who we let go of last season.

Stanislav Maslovskiy

Stan is a clinical finisher, as well as being able to deliver the ball on a plate to many of his teammates. He is brilliant physically, mentally and technically.

Phil Jones

I have been a long time admirer of Phil, and having worked closely together at England, I have splashed the cash on buying him.

This year we are delighted to welcome Chelsea and England manager onto the show for the first time here on ESPN. Joe's rise to fame has come with many trophies since he took over as a relatively unknown youngster in 2012. Welcome Joe Dowley!

So Joe, welcome to the show. How do you think your season went?

I think we had a fantastic season again, winning everything apart from the Capital Once Up, which seems to keep eluding us. Other than that I thought we did fantastic in the Champions League.

And what about your results for England?

Well, I think that we have been brilliant as a team, and I was especially pleased with Connor Wickham, who scored five goals in his first two games for the country.

And what are your views on transfers?

I thought again that we did good business during the windows, and built strong team to challenge for all the trophies.

Well thank you Joe Dowley for coming in to speak to us today about the past season.

Well later on this evening we will be speaking to England Rugby manager…
