Al Ahly are a team that are strong, but you are stronger than them! Good luck in the final!
African Champions League Final!(First leg)

This was the chance. It was the final of the African Champions League. All the young players I had brought in and had groomed for this moment were ready. I was ready. Ready to win and ready to get out of this shithole called Africa. Maybe next I could go somewhere tropical or somewhere modern. All I know is it was better than what I had here.

I knew how my team would play. It was better than what I played in England. It was attractive, fluid passing football which no one in England knew I played because they just though 'Oh Steve Kean, what a shite manager'. Well look at me now. In the final of the African Champions League final with two of the hottest young properties in Dicko and Mahmoud.

Almost every game we had won this season. So far this season we have not only easily strolled through the groups but played beautiful football as well. I had faith in my boys that they would not choke in such a big match, I mean, after all, we had beaten Sampdoria in a friendly tournament.

To get this far we have beaten some tough teams. Former winners in TP Mazembe, Al-Ahly and others, so I knew that we were the favourites, and that we could be champions of Africa, and I would be one step closer to shaking off that tag of the laughing stock. Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. (Thanks to Walter for the post so far, I was busy so he gave me a hand^.^)

So, it was time for the 1st leg...

Not much happened in the game until the 43rd minute. And it wasn't for the team I had hoped for.The goal was scored by Abdelhakim Bouhna, Wysab Casablanca Striker. Bouhna scored a deftly executed finish to round off a great team move. And we went into the break 1-0 down. This was disastrous. At this rate I wouldn't be leaving after all, and there was nothing more that I wanted to do. I had to give the boys a kick up the arse! Motivate them, for all I've done for them! They'de still be a bunch of failures if it wasn't for me.

Oi! What the fuck was that? My pet goldfish can play better than that! I din't think you realise how important this is. This isn't some shitty friendly that you can just throw away and it not matter, we are not against a bunch of sissys. You all seriously need a reality check ok. You're not doing this for me, It's for yourself, have some self achievement, and most importantly for the fans. Now get out their, and play like the team I know you can be!

It seems to have worked! 57th minute, 1-1. My main man Michael Eneramo! I love that man. And it was a good goal from Eneramo, as he rounded off a mazy run to score an incisive finish. So, full time, 1-1...

Bring on the 2nd leg...
A good result to take, good luck in the second leg!
Go on Steve, you can win it. Good steady result in the first leg, I'm sure you will win it in the second leg though :D

After the first leg's draw, we had to finish it off here. I got into the changing rooms and up to the whiteboard and stuck the usual team up on it. I made sure I put Mahmoud on there. He is the one that I think will guide us there, to the top of the tournament, to the top of Africa. Just one more leg and I can get out of here.

I could here the fans from the changing room. The noise was so loud, and amazing at the same time. I think they were really starting to appreciate what I had done for them, all I had done for them. Because hopefully it was over soon, and I could go somewhere exotic.. like Brazil or Venezuela.. or maybe to Asia? Who knows.

The boys looked pumped and so was I. They knew how much this meant for me, and how much I wanted to show the world that I really good manage a team, albeit in Africa. But after I had completed this challenge, they will recognised my talent, and maybe appreciate me?

The game

I sat in the dugout on the touchline, adjusted my eyes to the African sun and then started watching the biggest game of my career. And then I heard cheering and celebration. Yes, we were already one-nil up against Wysab Casablanca, through Jose Leudo! What a start we had made, and it changed the game completely!

They had a man injured but they still dominated possesion. Luckily, we were better counter attacking and made the most of our chances. In first half stoppage time, El Shayeb was injured which was concerning.

But nearly fifteen minutes after the restart approaching the hour mark, and we had sealed it! Gonzalo Escalante scored what is undoubtedly the most important goal in my career! He might have just rescued me from this shithole (no offence). What a goal, too!

We couldn't get complacent, though. We twindled down the clock until the 86th minute, when finally they took one of their chances. Younes Mankari made it 1-2, a nervy finish to the end. We fought on though, and when the final whistle went I fell on my knees. The team urged me to celebrate and I did.

I proudly lifted the trophy up above my head and took in the cheers and cries of the Ittihad crowd! We were champions of Africa!

(This was again another great update from Walter. I'm very busy atm with Law work, so I haven't had time to play fm or update my story. Anyway, I'm trying to make some time, maybe the new challenges will help)
