We struggled getting the ball upfield often because Verdonck lost out on many of Peersman's deep balls, but Lamonaca and Yde created something out of nothing. It took extra time, but we did it!

This match might have been different if Bornem wasn't awarded a bogus penalty, but we were poor in general and deserved to lose.

Finally, a return to our preseason form! It's nice to get our first league win, and playing well in all phases of the game. Jo Vermast is the standout, with a goal and an assist. Also on focus, a rare goal from the run of play by fullback Thomas Depoorter, scoring when his marker missed an interception and allowed him to shoot.

We got our first wins of the season, but suffered some embarrassing losses, too. We need to figure out something at left back.

Eek, just outside that relegation zone. Seeing as though that is the last playable division on the game (I think), what happens if you do get relegated? Anyway, some good wins in there, hopefully you can pick up the form!

I was called into Mr. Willem's office, and he was not pleased.

"What is this I'm hearing about you applying in the Dinamo Bucharest job, Serge?! What's wrong with Torhout?" Willem asked.

"I just feel like I can't accomplish my ambitions here. We have a wonderful squad here, and I've brought a wonderful system here, but it seems like something isn't jelling. In addition, we're having a serious rash of injuries. The pitch is, excuse my bluntness here, shit. You'll gladly pay for players, but you won't pay to have a proper pitch?"

"I would, but you spent all our budget buying those players, half of which you don't even use," Willem rebutted.

"That's because I have to cover my own ass when players can't play because of twisted knees and ankles. I'm already having to cover for Niels De Loof's torn calf, our left back position is very shaky, even with my new signing."

Willem looked flustered. "Whatever the case, I'm demanding that you apologize to us, and then apologize publicly to the fans at a press conference I've had setup today, or you're FIRED!"

"Fine, fine..." I sighed.
