A Letter

Mr. Laurent,

Although we appreciate you sending in your CV and strongly considered you for the job here at KuPS, regrettably we could not offer you the job, because we can't afford to offer you sufficient compensation. Hopefully you'll understand, and we wish you best of luck in your future endeavors.

Ari Lahti,
Chairman, KuPS
Haha, there's been at least one memorable story with KuPS making an appearance.
This is a blessing in disguise because Nick didn't want any other KuPS stories. :P

For those who haven't read this masterpiece, enjoy! :)

The problem is, now I've used up all of my job-hunting capital, since the board didn't ride my ass like they did when I went after the Dinamo Bucharest job, but I'm probably not long for Torhout anyway...we'll see!

A New Chapter

"You know what? I can't take it here anymore. This culture of losing, and I certainly can't take you anymore. Here's my resignation papers. I'm out of here."
Yeah, f*ck you Torhout, I never liked you anyway! :P

CD Naval Names Laurent New Manager

After about a month of job searching, Serge Laurent has finally found a new position, as second-division Chilean side CD Naval has announced Laurent as their new manager. Laurent's first job was an unsuccessful few months with Torhout in his home country of Belgium. Laurent said he wanted to go as far away from Belgium as he could for now, and Chile is definitely very far away from Belgium. Laurent stated in his first press conference that he was excited to get a change of scenery and learn more about South American football, with the ultimate goal of managing the club in the Copa Libertadores. He also spoke through a translator, since he didn't know Spanish that well, but vowed to learn for the sake of the club and his development as a manager and person.
Nice move. I love South American football and I have managed in second division Colombia (pretty much the same :P ) and I loved it! Good luck on the new journey :D
Liking it so far. Good luck at Naval.

2013 Preseason

CD Naval 0 - 1 Huachipato
It was always going to be a tough match, but Felipe Abarca's confident performance in goal staved off the inevitable until the very end.
Player of the Match: Daniel Gonzalez (Huachipato)

CD Naval 1 - 2 Universidad de Concepcion
Despite losing, we did come up with a goal, and we did keep the scoreline close.
Player of the Match: Pedro Munoz (Universidad de Concepcion)

CD Naval 0 - 1 San Marcos de Arica
Another game where we kept it close against a tough opponent.
Player of the Match: Diego Opazo (San Marcos de Arica)

CD Naval 0 - 2 Fernandez Vial
Finally, a loss by two goals. We had quite a few chances but couldn't make them count.
Player of the Match: Edgardo Abdala (Fernandez Vial)

Ok preseason, you were coming up against some difficult teams. Hopefully it changes in the real season.

Btw, it is the Torhout logo up the top not the CD Naval one :P
