The winner of Liga ZON Sagres season 2013-2014

Season 2001-2002 was the last season when Sporting lifted up the trophy of Liga ZON Sagres. Today, after more than a decade a new great team rises from Portugal! With an average age of 23 years, a very young team which can dominate the Portuguese football years from now!

The game agains Olhanense was the big one. If we win this game, we will be champions. I guess this motivated our players very much because they played perfectly. Capel, Rubio and Labyad brought us the title! A grea honor for us!
Against Braga, the team went in the game relaxed and won with a very good performance.
Now, the only thing we have to do for a perfect season, is to win the Taça de Portugal final, against Academica.

Other things happened in May

Also our youth team became Champions! Great moment for them!

After winning the league title I also got in the Portugal Hall of Fame!

What a great performance!We destroyed Academica! Andre Martins with a double and Viola scored for us in a game we dominated! As you can see, we are makeing history!

Other things happened in June

Thanks to very good european performances by us, Benfica and Porto, Liga ZON Sagres got in fron of Ligue 1 in the Europe Competiton Standings.

This month, also the supporters Player oh The Year was voted and the winner was maybe suprisingly, Diego Rubio!

Of course that I couldn't miss a game like this, so I wend to Brasil to enjoy a great final. No surprise that Brazil won it, they dominated the entire game. I just hope that one day I will be here as a manager, not as a lover of football.

If someone was still in doubt about Diego Rubio, now he has the proof that Rubio is a brilliant player.

According to our reporter from Estádio José Alvalade, Sporting CP's manager, Luís Figo, is going to resign ,or already has done it!
The reason is that his relations with the president of the club, Bruno de Carvalho, has broken because mister president selled a key player without asking Luís if he agrees.
It looks like Figo's last words as a manager were: "You stupid old prick, you only think about money!"
But, there is nothing sure until we have an official information!

Well that would be a shock....are you going to look for another job or are you ending the story here?

Supertaça de Portugal 2014 winner: Sporting

I quit!

I saw the rumours in the media too, and yes, it were true! But this were my last words: "I am not a slave!" not what the media invented.
Around 14 day untill Supertaça and mister presidents calls me. I answer and he says:
"- Luís, I just signed the conract! Cedric is going to play for Granada! We have recieved 10 mln euros for him!"
"- We? Maybe you sir. But why did you sell him without asking me first?"
"- Luís, you said at the begining of the preseason that you want to sell him, so I tried to find a club for him, and selled him!"
"- Ok, I remeber saying that, but you still shoulded ask me mister!Have a nice day!"

Ok, I accepted this, but 4 days before the Supercup and I am at training with the team, but there is no Rui Patricio. He is the captain, he was never late, this is something strange. The president appears on the pitch and says:
"- Luís, we have recieved a big offer for Rui, 25 mln euros from Atl.Madrid. You are ok if we sell him, aren't you?"
"- No, I am not! I can't afford to lose a player so important to us!"
"- But we need money!"
"- Mister, you need money! I brought to this club over 40 mln euros in this 2 season, we don't need any more money! Do you know where Rui is?"
"- Luís, I am sorry to tell you, but Rui is at Madrid, negotiating his contract!"
"- No!! I won't accept this, you only think about money! I quit!! I am not a slave!!!"

I remained at the team for one last game, winning the trophy and I am out! I want a short break of a couple of months and after this, I will be back in business!
Next day after I resigned, Sporting anounced the new manager, he is Rafa Benitez. I wish him the best!

I HATE it when the board sell players you don't want to sell, I feel your pain. Hopefully you can find a new job soon and lead them to success!

Enjoying the break

Just a week passed since I resigned as a manager from Sporting CP and already I recieved an offer. It's from a small club with big ambitions, but I refused...I feel I need a break!


Meanwhile, during my break, Manchester United has a new president! There are rumours that the price Adrian Henry paid is around 1 billion punds!


Then, in November the offers start flowing, in 1 week I recieved 4 offers, now I have one week to choose where should I go!

Bilbao

Athl.Bilbao were the first to offer me a job,they are 15th place in Primera Division and they felt that they need a change.
Pro:
- Good finances
- A very young team hungry for performances
Against:
- I don't know if I like their pollicy of buying only Basque players.

Lazio Roma

Lazio is a team from Rome, Italy, playing in Serie A. They are 11th place and the former manager have been sacked because the lack of performances.
Pro:
- Good Finances
- Only 11th place, they are not that down
Against:
- Old team
- The supporters of the club will hate me because I played for Inter.

At. Madrid

At.Madrid are 12th place in Liga BBVA, having a bunch of great players but some financial problems.
Pro:
- Very good players
- Very good youth prospects
Against:
- Poor finances
- I played for Real, so I don't know how the supporters will react!

Hannover

15th place in German Bundesliga, but rich finances.
Pro:
- Rich finances
- Always wanted to play in Germany, now I can manage there
Against:
- Weak players
- 15th place is very low
