Jupp Hynckes to Retire at The End of The Season
He announced the decision to the players today and it has been reported that many of the players were crying due to their close relationship with Hynckes and they were all sad to see him leave. He then spoke to press later on and told them the reason behind his decision.
“Look I am 67. I am old now and I feel it is the right time to step down. I feel it is best for the club if I leave and that they also have a younger manager that can lead a revolution here and make this club great once again. I love it here, it was not an easy decision. I want to wish the club and the players all the best in the future and I know that this club will have great success.
Jupp was later questioned of he knew anything about the new manager but denied claims he had anything to do with the appointment of a new manager.
“I have no idea who will take charge”, added Hynckes. “I am not in charge of the club the Chairman is and it is his job to hire a new manager. All I ask is that the fans get behind the new boss and support him all the way”.
Reports suggest that Jose Mourinho might be on his way to the Alianz Arena but names like Rafa Benitez, Pep Guardiola and also Arsene Wenger are being linked with the hottest job in world football at the moment.
