September review
Hibs started poor in September and Butcher's 100% start was gone in the first match of the month as he saw his side fall to a 1-0 defeat at Motherwell. Hibs then made the long trip North to Dingwall to take on Ross County but Hibs left empty handed again with another 1-0 away loss. Hibs bounced back brilliantly in the next match in the league with a 5-2 home hammering of Dundee United and were looking for revenge against Ross County in the League Cup but were put out on their own patch by Ross County after falling to a late goal and a 3-2 defeat.

All in all a poor month for Butcher and Hibernian as they fall from top to 4th in the league and out of the League Cup. They will be looking to bounce back in October immediately with the fans favourite Edinburgh derby away at Tynecastle before travelling again North to Aberdeen. Hibs then finish the month with three home games against Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Celtic.
