Dortmund approached Ross and he could hardly turn it down! They are the German Champions and this is different to what Ross has taken on before, they are a successful club and Ross has dealt with clubs that were struggling before.

This two year deal may be all that Dortmund get from Ross as he is reported to be eyeing up a move to the Dutch league after.
German Super Cup Success

Ross' first game in charge and he wins the super cup on penalities vs. Gladbach!! 3rd piece of silverware for him.

That match signalled the end of pre-season for Dortmund so Ross did not have long after this to prepare for league fixtures or to sign people he wanted. It turns out however that Dortmund have a very strong squad with the likes of Subotic, Schmelzer, Hummels, Bender, Reus, Kagawa, Gotze, Lewandowski all there plus additions like Fellaini, Chris Brunt and I'deye the Nigerian Striker.

Ross was soon to snap up Carlos Tevez on a free transfer and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a loan deal to strengthen his options out wide. After selling a few people Ross was able to bring in highly rated Dutch youngster Stefan De Vrij who can play CB or RB.

Ross' first 5 games in charge
1 - 1 vs. Gladbach (won on pens)
2 - 2 vs. Mainz League
10 - 0 vs. Oberneuland German Cup
7 - 0 vs. Stuttgart League
4 - 1 vs. 1860 Munchen League

Lewandowski has been the standout player with 3 hat-tricks in these 5 games.

The league standings after Ross' 3-1 win over Bayern lifted his Dortmund side above them. Bad news as Carlos Tevez has not been able to adapt to Germany and will be departing in January to Arsenal for 9.5m, he still has a couple of months to help strengthen and add to Ross' Dortmund side and Louis is hoping the 30 year old can do just that.
Really good story! keep it up.

Mid-season review

Ross has got his Dortmund side top of D1 6 points clear of Bayern going into the winter break and although he could not get past the group stage of the CL (in the group of death with Porto and Athletico Madrid) It was a draw and a loss vs. Madrid that ultimately saw Ross' team finish 3rd. This means that they are in the Europa League and face RB Salzburg in the knockout round then will face either Celtic or Marseille if they get through. Europes 2nd tier competition is one Ross is really thinking about winning but with the departure of Tevez and little to no funds left he must find another striker to help Lewandowski.

The last game before the Winter break saw Dortmund progress into the 1/4 finals of the German Cup after beating Schalke 1-0 AET meaning a date with Hoffenheim in the next round, Ross is said to be going all out to win the league, cup and europa cup to put alongside the German Super cup to make it a quadruple of trophies for Dortmund this season.

Ross is looking at Striking options already as he prepares for Tevez's departure, he has agreed to sell Postiga and a few other of the deadwood at Dortmund with Brown Ideye as a second choice to Lewandowski Ross now has the choice to put his faith in the underperforming Ideye or to search maybe for a loan star.
Ross has been awarded the Manager of the year award for Serie A for his time at Palermo (Their awards are done yearly not by the season)
SIGNINGS

Following Carlos Tevez's departure Ross wasted no time in snapping up wonderkid Carlos Fierro from Chivas and he netted in a friendly vs. Zenit in the Winter break.

Ezequiel Garay will be joining at the end of the season when his contract with Benfica ends too.

Ross is managing to move the deadwood out too but is keen to keep hold of Hummels but Barcelona are reportedly interested.
7 games left in the season

Ross' boys sit 14 points clear of rivals Bayern with 7 games to go, with Bayern up next for Dortmund the title should be wrapped up if Dortmund record a win over Bayern.
In other competitions Dortmund face Leverkusen in the 1/4 finals of the Europa League with the winners facing Schalke or Stuttgart.
DORTMUND WIN THE LEAGUE

Ross reaches another milestone in his career by taking Dortmund to the D1 title after a 3-1 win over Koln.

After crashing out of the Europa League Ross was furious with his players, after dominating the game vs. Leverkusen after securing a 2-1 first leg lead Dortmund lost 2-0 with Leverkusen's goal keeper claiming MOTM (9.2/10) One of those days for Ross' boys but after seeing his former side Palermo reach the semi finals of The Champions League Ross must be left wondering why he can conquer Europe's leagues but not the competitions.
Ross has collected the Manager of The Year award and the Players manager of the year award
BREAKING NEWS

26th June 2015.

Ross has stepped down as manager of Borussia Dortmund after he applied for the Manchester United job, it became free after Louis Van Gaal retired and Ross saw this as his next step in his managerial career after two successive titles in Italy and Germany.

Ross' Press statement.
I am sad to have had to leave Dortmund, the fans, players and staff have been brilliant. he project I had was one that I felt confident we could take to even greater heights by going far in the Champions League but managing in England is a dream and the Manchester United job does not come along every day, I am waiting to hear from them and if I end up not getting the job I will have to see what comes up.
Guardiola chosen as Van Gaal's successor

Ross was offered an ultimatum by the BVB board, to apologise, or to leave so he left, when Guardiola was unveiled as the new Manchester United manager Ross was asked if he had any regrets:
No, none. One day I will manage in England and I will win the Premiership, I guess it wont be with Manchester United though. I wish Pep all the best he is a great man and manager and am sure he'll do well
