Sonwild will manage Paris FC

http://www.leparisien.fr/images/2012/08/02/2110364_0fb181a4-dc27-11e1-b420-001517810e22.jpg

Without manager since the sacking of Alain Mboma, Paris Football Club has confirmed the caretaker manager, Alex Sonwild for the coming season.
Assistant manager last season, Sonwild is familiar with the club he joined at the age of 19. Paris did not hesitate to offer him a contract as a coach when he retired aged 29.

Last year, when he began his sixth year in the staff, he was named assistant manager by the new manager, Mboma. The club finished 16th in the league and Mboma was fired.

Sonwild took the post until further notice. But today, turn of events, Guy Cotret, the club owner, announces the confirmation of Sonwild as manager.

The two men have met a lot lately and knowing the commitment of Sonwild to the club where he is very popular, it is not surprising that an agreement has been found between the two men even though it is likely that there were several failures for Cotret because Sonwild seemed clearly not to be his first choice after the formalization of the dismissal of Alain Mboma.

The club has cut off all communication with the media but Sonwild will be presented to the press tomorrow.
This will sure be interesting. Looking forward to it :)

Who is Sonwild?

http://ie.playstation.com/media/8h-2AGdw/FootballManager2012_Hero.JPG

Alex Sonwild, son of former Ivorian international Yaya Sonwild and of the English singer Kate Fletcher, was born in Marseille on the 13th December 1975. In 1984 he began football and in 1989 he joined Olympique de Marseille at their training centre. aged 18, Sonwild was loaned for six months to Caen. At the end of the season he was listed as not needed by the club and joined for free Paris FC with only one appearance for OM.

Sonwild rapidly acclimatized to the third division club and after ten years he had become a big supporter of the club, and the club had a new legend. He was never the best player on the pitch but his physical attributes were incredible and he was a great captain. He obtained the captain armband aged 23 for his importance in the changing room, his mentality, his determination but also for his generosity, his sense of humour, and his cheerfulness.

Alex Sonwild retired in 2005 after a difficult season in the fourth division where he had a lot of minor injuries. The club's physio said that Alex could continue football, last year was a bad year but everything should have been all right for the next season, yet Sonwild decided to put an end to his player career claiming he was mentally tired.

The chairman didn't hesitate to offer him a contract as coach, and without hesitation Alex accepted the offer." In 2010, Mboma, the new manager of PFC, appointed Sonwild as assistant manager.

One year on and Mboma has been fired and Sonwild has become manager. The story between Paris FC and Sonwild doesn't seem near to the end and it's a new chapter that is beginning.

Sonwild and PFC come back all smiles from Netherlands

http://perlbal.hi-pi.com/blog/864303/header_round1/1343238835.png

For his first match in charge of Paris FC 2000, Alex Sonwild and his players returned from the Netherlands with a convincing victory (4-0) against Rijnsburgse Boys, a team playing in Topklass A (D3).

Playing in 4-4-2 formation, the Parisians retained possession with a solid defense, a point that was particularly effective as the team was boosted in the second half when Sonwild used his twelve subs.

The first goal came just before the first change, Murcy cutting a perfect cross at the 58th minute. Sonwild then made a tactical change trying a more offensive team. An effective choice as they scored three beautiful goals by Ayala and Ramdani, who scored twice, the first one on a beautiful freekick curled to the first post.

But not all was perfect, far from it, especially in the offensive sector with many opportunities missed but quickly forgotten, thanks to those who went into the back of the net. At the end of the match, Sonwild seemed pleased with the performance of the team, but how long will his happiness last?

Ajaccio continue their winning ways

http://static.foot01.com/img/images/650x600/2011/Oct/20/l-om-reste-une-grosse-ecurie-pour-ajaccio-iconsport_tra_250911_17_20,26224.jpg

For their 4th friendly of the preseason, AC Ajaccio have once again put on a good show and come back from Paris with a 3-0 win, not against the giant PSG that they play on the 21st of August, but against the 3rd division club Paris FC.

Albert Emon, the new Corsican manger, declared he was very happy about the serenity he felt in the group, two weeks before the reception of Reims for the championship opening. His team didn't meet any real difficulties, the Parisians simply giving back the ball to the Corsicans whenever they lost it and never approaching ACA’six yard area(14 shots for the Ligue 1 team and none for their opponents).

Already winners against Marseille (3-2) but also against Vitréenne (3-1) and Waasland-Beveren (4-1); Ajaccio will now attempt to make it a 100% winning streak by winning their last friendly match against Ingolstadt.

PFC trained for two weeks by Alex Sonwild (their legend player) had won their first match 4-0 against Rijnsburgse Boys but sank today against Ajaccio.

The Parisians were clumsy, not very confident on passing and experiencing difficulties to get past midfield. They concentrated mostly on organizing the defense and not releasing space but that was their mistake. With his tactics, Sonwild let his opponents build the game.

Mutu opened the score with a long range shot. At the 35th minute, Germain turned a new Mutu shot onto the crossbar but Diop took this opportunity to dive and score a header leaving the keeper no chance. The second half of the game was just a blueprint of the first and Casabianca sealed the score from a corner just before Ibrahima Faye was sent off for a dangerous and useless foul on Pirredu.

Paris FC will try to pull themselves together against Ludogorets on Sunday and will then have three other friendlies before moving to Creteil on the 6th August for the first day of French National.

Impressive stuff, unlucky about the result
