2013-04-28 11:43#95827 Blue : Should be an interesting link up :)
When I asked for a feeder club and they popped up I couldn't resist. They are the team I support and Andy Tillson is a club legend. Had to do it.
Great stuff Gas. Help them get back on the PL!

I hope that my Tillson quote at the end of that updates hasn't caused confusion. By "I look forwarding to returning there" I meant returning to the Memorial Ground for the annual friendly.

Plus, Bristol Rovers have never been in the Premier League. :(

A much better month for Stoke as they once again defeated Arsenal, who they have beaten 3 times in 3 games since Tillson became manager. Hard fought draws against West Ham and Southampton but again, poor finishing caused them to drop points. Ipswich went 2-0 up in the first half in the Capital One Cup fixture but a Kenwyne Jones hat-trick turned the game around for Stoke.

Stoke City's Player of the Month - Steven N'Zonzi

N'Zonzi had a great month for Stoke. He defender superbly, broke up the opposition's play and was key in attacking movement. N'Zonzi's performances for Stoke have gained him some admirers from larger clubs.

Stoke went 100% this month, beating some tough sides. Coming from behind to beat Everton, taking a 2 goal lead at both West Brom and Fulham. They squeezed past Aston Villa in the cup, despite dominating possession. Kenwyne Jones had a goal ruled out for off-side in that game but they went on to win 4-2 on penalties with young Jack Butland saving two penalties.

Stoke City's Player of the Month - Ryan Shawcross

Ryan Shawcross was again solid in defense. One of the stand out performers for Stoke week in, week out. His motivational skills helped with the come back against Everton and their resiliency against Aston Villa.

Stoke City manager Andy Tillson has been approached by Italian giants AC Milan and Athletic Bilbao. AC Milan recently parted way with Massimiliano Allegri, who was underpreforming in his role and was sacked following a poor run. Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa recently replaced Andre Villas-Boas at Spurs, Stoke City's Capital One Cup Quarter Final opponents.

AC Milan currently sit in 11th position in Serie A, with 11 games played. Having lost 6 games this season, 4 in the poor run which lead to Allegri's dismissal. Athletic Bilbao sits in 13th position in La Liga, despite this low position they are only four points off of the top four.

Stoke City have allowed Tillson to talk to AC Milan and Athletic Bilbao, if the representatives of the clubs meet Tillson in Stoke. Stoke have agreed a compensation fee with both clubs, if Tillson does take the either job. That fee is reportedly £2m.

Will he stay or will he go?
I hope you stay to continue progress with Stoke but these are two massive clubs! Where will you go? :O

As reported yesterday Andy Tillson was approaced by AC Milan and Atheltic Bilbao. Both clubs matched the compensation fee and agreed that they would meet with Tillson in Stoke, so Tillson could prepare his squad for their upcoming games.

Tillson met with the two clubs, one after each other earlier this morning and has decided against moving to any of the clubs despite the offer of a substantial pay rise. Tillson was quoted saying "I have a job here to do at Stoke, I am not done here. I was flattered to have been contacted by such big clubs but right now I am contracted to Stoke and I want to fulfill my task".

Stoke Chairman Peter Coates had this to say "We are delighted that Andy (Tillson) has decided to remain with us here at Stoke. Both of the clubs who came in for him are massive and we didn't want to stand in the way of such a promising manager's career".
I'm glad you didn't leave Stoke, you haven't won the PL with them yet ;)

The AC Milan offer was so tempting but I plan to stay for as long as possible, unless the right club comes in.

One day, maybe I will win it.
I'm glad you stayed at Stoke. With imminent European football on its way, it'll lure players and better things will come!

Stoke City started off the month losing to last season's Premier League runners-up, Man City. They played valiantly and kept the score line very respectful, especially as they were expected to be dismantled. Next came three fairly straight forward wins against Swansea, Sunderland and Watford.

Stoke City's Player of the Month - Abel Hernández

Hernández had a difficult first few months here in England, Abel took the month by storm. Scoring the winner against Swansea as well as goals versus Sunderland and Watford.
Only loss this month to the league leaders, well done mate.
