Football Manager 2026 Facepacks - NG_Regens Newgen Megapack with Picture Pack 8 - FM26, FM24 and below
Hello guys!

I would like to share with you my newgen replacement pack. The pack currently consists of more than 130,000 player pictures across 55 different ethnicity categories and more than 15,000 staff pictures for both male and female.

You can have a preview of my pictures and (almost all) ethnicity categories here:
PICTURE SHOWCASE

For FM26, you can get the pack in two versions:

a) Single Bundle File (NG_Regens Lite Experience)
This is a single bundle file that you can place in your FM26 folder. It's easy to install and use, but it's significantly limited in what it can do, how many faces it includes, and what methods are used to assign faces to newgens.

b) Full Experience with Custom Software (FM26 is Windows Only, FM24 supports all platforms using the shortlist export method)
For Windows users, I recommend the full experience with my custom software. It supports more than 10 times the number of pictures, categories, and assignment methods. For FM26 I'm currently investigating how to port this to Mac and Steam Deck.

THE FULL VERSION FOR FM26 AND FM24 FOR WINDOWS:

Follow the guide here:
FM26/FM24 WINDOWS BETA GUIDE

If you have problems accessing the page that means your provider uses crappy AI modules that have false flagged the page. As a workaround you can set your Windows DNS Settings to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 or Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1. You can find (not mine) guide on how to do that on your Windows machine here

THE BUNDLE REPLACEMENT METHOD:

If you're on Windows, I strongly recommend using the full experience of the pack with my custom software. However, if your platform isn't supported yet or you don't want to deal with the software I've created, I have a bundle file for you to use with the bundle replacement method. Just keep in mind that this bundle represents only about 5-10% of the full experience (it's not me limiting you to force software adoption - this is simply how the bundle method works).

1. Download the updated bundle file from here: https://download.ngregens.org/ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle
2. Go to your FM26 install directory. By default, it should be \Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 26\fm_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64\
3. Make a backup of the ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle file in case you want to revert to default faces.
4. Copy the file you downloaded in step 1 into the FM26 folder, replacing the original file.
5. Start FM26, go to the Preferences screen, and select "Detailed" in the top menu. Then select "Audio & Visual" in the left menu and check the "Use pre-generated pictures of players (and staff) rather than dynamically-generated images" option (as shown in the screenshot).

6. Restart the game.

To revert (or migrate to my full-featured experience with the custom software), uncheck the "Use pre-generated pictures of players (and staff) rather than dynamically-generated images" option and copy the original bundle (that you backed up in step 3) back into the FM26 directory.

If you are interested in FM24 version with shortlist export method for both Windows and Mac you can still download and use the old 25 version of the software below.

Stay tuned!

///////////////////////

BELOW IS THE OLD SHORTLIST EXPORT METHOD FOR FM24 AND BELOW FOR ALL PLATFORMS:

Due to how diverse the pack is, I had to create my own expanded folder system to accomodate all 55 categories, so the pack requires a custom NG_Regens Manager 25 software

Installation guide:

1 - Get the main NG_Regens facepack here

2 - Copy the NG_Regens folder into your FM Graphics folder. It would be the same folder where you have put the original newgan facepack or where you put real facepacks. In my case that would be “Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\graphics\faces\”

3. Download the NG_Regens Manager 25: Windows | Mac

4. Watch the NG_Regens Manager 25 guide on Youtube
If you need a detailed video guide on shortlist export process you can find it here
Deepdive into new version 1.2 features
I will redo all three current Youtube videos into one, but this is a time consuming process, so bear with me.

If you’ve already got a save going and want to keep your existing regen faces but generate new ones using my latest pack—you’re all good, I’ve got you covered! The program can read both the classic NewGAN format (Zealand’s original one) and the newer FM.Z/URAN format. If anyone’s using a different format, definitely let me know so I can look into it.

Just a heads-up though—this compatibility is one-way:
You can use your old mappings with this tool, but you won’t be able to go back and use classic NewGAN/FM.Z/FMRTE afterwards (or at least, I honestly have no idea what would happen).

So here’s what to do:
Find your current regen pictures folder — this is the folder you've been using as your image folder in NewGAN Manager, FM.Z Manager, or FMRTE.

Copy the contents of the NG_Regens folder from the archive you downloaded in Step 1 of the guide and paste it right into that same image folder.

If you’re using the classic NewGAN format, your folders should now look something like this, with old and new folders side by side at the same level:

There’s just one small caveat: the folder called "Scandinavian" exists in both the old and new packs. But don’t worry—our files have different names, so they won’t overwrite each other.

Here’s what will happen with that specific folder:
Your old face assignments will stay intact—no worries there. The system will treat the "Scandinavian" pics from both packs as part of the same group. That means you might see old faces showing up on new players and if you start a new save and click "Generate", the program will pull from both versions. You’ll basically end up with a Scandinavian mega-pack of around 12,000 pics.

If you’re using the FM.Z/URAN format, your folder structure should look like this:

Just keep them at the same level in the directory and you’re all set!

If you have any questions regarding the installation or anything else, you can leave a comment here, on my youtube channel or you can send me an email to [email protected]

I hope you have fun with the pack and have a very nice day!

F.A.Q.

Q: Why did you create a new folder structure? / How can I unpack your pack into the old NewGAN "Italmed/YugoGreek..." folders?

A:
First off, huge shoutout to the original NewGAN team—they did an amazing job, and their work is still being used by thousands of people today. Even my project builds on the filters and views they created, so big respect to them. Seriously, none of this would be possible without their foundation.

That said, the original NewGAN pack came out about five years ago, and it was built using the tools and structure available at the time. It only has 14 categories for the entire world. A lot of care went into the big football nations, but unfortunately, many other countries kind of got lumped together in ways that don’t really make sense.

Let’s do a little experiment: I could show you a few images from my pack, each from a different category. In the old NewGAN setup, all of those would’ve ended up in the same group—meaning a player from one of those countries could randomly get any of those faces.

Notice the difference? That’s why it’s just not possible to repackage my set back into the old structure without losing all the nuance (or simply creating a mess).

That said, you can totally keep using your existing save where players already have NewGAN faces assigned, and just use my pack for generating new faces. I’ve got a guide on Reddit that walks you through it—look for the section called "Keeping your current regens."

@Klash Not yet, but it is in the works. If you ping me up on discord I can make you a workaround config file so you can play.

@cprrylow Thanks for the great program! I have a little problem. Not all regens change in the game. I'm playing with the converted league mod and I have a country id: 583 involved. And when installing regens in this country, the regens remain from SI, in all other leagues and countries the regens from newgen. Is there any way to fix this?

@cprrylow it took agessss. almost an hour.. but it work.. thanks

@cprrylow Thanks for the quick response and your work on this! Just left it for 15 mins on the loading screen and it's working now.

@Harkett @dpendao as far as I know this is FM26 caching issue, I have different users reporting that they had to leave FM26 on that Loading screen for ages, like 10 minutes, before it finally did wake up. Was a smooth saling after that and next starts were around the usual speed. Doesnt happen to everyone though, no idea what causes that...

@pixelrbit Nice to hear you enjoy it! Female pack is a bit further down the line, Im totally overloaded now. At least I need to bring the software to its final version, then I can probably transfer that time to the female pack.

@dpendao - Having the same problem getting stuck on the "LOADING" screen. Have used the Real Name Fix updates too but my save is just a fresh one for FM26, not imported from 24.
  • dpendao's avatar
Good morning, I need help. I imported my save from FM24 to FM26 to continue my game. I did the Real Name Fix updates and moved the graphics folders to the FM26 folder... when I try to open it, it doesn't read the Newgan faces file or the game doesn't open, it gets stuck on the "LOADING" screen... am I the only one experiencing this or has no one else had this problem?
  • pixelrbit's avatar
This is the best regen pack hands down! Any updates on the female regens? Waiting for it before starting my WSL save :)

@SonTungST If SI doesnt come with a sollution in the near future (like enabling shortlists for FM26 or something similar), then I will try to add Mac Software for those who are willing to go the SIP disable way.
  • cprrylow's avatar
@GfxJG No, I have honestly never heard of this one yet (and the pack is being used by thousands of people daily, so this is really something rare)... It really sounds like something in your FM26 goes bananas for some reason.

Do you only use my pack? If you have tried a bundle method before, have you reverted your Preference Audio & Visual settings back?

Could you please ping me up on Discord? Invite is in the bottom left in the software, tag @NG_Regens in graphics channel and I will come back to you. It is rather hard to tshoot via FMScout comments.

Great software, the faces looks great in FM26 as always! I will say though, it seems a little... Inconsistent, in assigning them when reading from memory? I run it, everything's fine, no errors. I restart FM26, but most of them are still the default PNG's - Until suddenly, randomly after an hour or two of playtime, your faces pop in! Not for all newgens though, it's as if some are missed, or assigned the wrong ethnicity - It'll be assigned a white face at first, and then when the "pop-in" happens, it changes to the correct black face?

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is more on FM26 than your software, due to the pop-in, but it's not something you've heard before?
  • SonTungST's avatar
@cprrylow i think you can provide a notice about your app to users. This is the same way FMRTE did.
And one more questions, the main reason when you changed the method in FM24 (shortlist and export) to using current method in FM26 is that FM26 doesnt support export list as FM24 did. So in the future, if FM26 support export feature, we can use your app normally as FM24
  • cprrylow's avatar
Yes, basically it would require you to partially turn off the SIP. Another downside you cannot turn it off only for my application, you can only turn it off for everything.

So realistically the flow would be:

    Disable SIP
    Run the scanner
    Re-enable SIP

Not sure how many users would actually be willing to do that, thats why I havent invested my time in Mac adoption yet...
  • SonTungST's avatar
@cprrylow, i understand that, if user want to run your app on MAC, they have to disable the SIP, this thing is not recommended, right?
  • cprrylow's avatar
@SonTungST The problem with Mac is called System Integrity Protection. This is the same thing that affects, for example, FMRTE editor as we use the same technique to get to the FM data.

You can google fmrte macos-unable-to-open-process to get more infos.

As you see in the article there is a workaround, but Im not sure how many players would actually want to go that way (which I can fully understand).

So I kind of just sit here with my fingers crossed for SI to provide some kind of alternative solution for newgens with one of the hotfixes...
  • SonTungST's avatar
Hi @cprrylow, I am very appriciate of your support. Could you please tell about the availability of MAC version of your software

@jaseng FM24 or FM26? Im still trying to figure out unclickables, I feel a bit unstable. If you have only reinstalled the game, but still have the same profile with the same configuration file, then it is the game not displaying pictures for some reason... Unclickables are still a bit of a mystery for me tbh and they are hard to troubleshoot.

@Goldfinger24 6250 regen players on a game start? that doesnt seem too low to me... Are you sure those other players on your U20 are regens? At the start of the game many players there are real players who dont have photos... If you want to troubleshoot further please get in touch with me on Discord (invite is in the main menu of the software in bottom left), tag @NG_Regens in fm26-graphics-skins channel and I will get back to you eventually.
  • Goldfinger24's avatar
@cprrylow I doesn't let me select the folders. Accidentaly I chose the wrong one first. My FA folder is now fm26\graphics\NG_Regens_MainPack and picture folder is fm26\graphics\NG_Regens_MainPack\NG_Regens. This gives me only about 6250 faces to players. Even my own U20 team have only 5 players out of 25 with faces. How can I select those folders again? I have deleted everything and uploaded them again but those folder stays unchanged
  • jaseng's avatar
Thanks so much for this! Quick query, images were pulling through for journalists and non clickable staff but I had to reinstall the game and since then they are no longer there - players are working fine. Any idea why please?
  • cprrylow's avatar
@ElGusto Make sure your AV is not killing the process. When you click on the scan button it tries to attach to the FM process to get infos about the players, so your AV might be killing it to protect the FM process.

If you see nothing suspicious in your AV, then please get in touch with on Discord, invite in the main menu of the software, tag @NG_Regens in one of the graphics-skins channels
  • ElGusto's avatar
    Hi @cprrylow,
When i hit the Start Memory Scan button, the NG_Regens Manager 26 program just shuts down. Do you have any solution? Thanks
  • ooshosboshe's avatar
@cprrylow I'll keep that in mind!
  • cprrylow's avatar
Cool. If it works, then probably you are good, just beware, that theoretically you are now assigning each picture 14 times... so in case it will start to act wierd, I would suggest to split the mappings, so that each ID is only assigned once in its respective folder.
  • ooshosboshe's avatar
@cprrylow So, what I did in Notepad was replace the file location in the config, for example: African/. I did this for all file locations. So what's left in the config was just the picture name and the regen ID. Then, I copied the config into each individual folder, and now all the pictures appear as they should. Thanks a lot for the info, mate!
