Football Manager 2024 Facepacks - NG_Regens Diversity Newgen Megapack + Picture Pack 2
Hello guys!

I would like to share with you my newgen megapack, that I have created for myself while playing the game.

Right now it consists of almost 95000 pictures across 50 different ethnicity categories.

Due to how diverse the pack is, I had to create my own expanded folder system to accomodate all 50 categories, so the pack requires a custom NG_Regens Manager software (you can have a look at the completely new version of the software released with Picture Pack 1 in my youtube video guide).

Update 11.06.2025 Picutre Pack 2

Picutre Pack 2 brings you more than 14000 new pictures for the following countries:

France
Hungary
MainlandSEA - Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand
Poland
Vietnam
WestBalkan - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia

All pictures have been generated completly from scratch using completly new model trainings.

Arabic, Croatian, Indonesian, Polish, Serbian, Turkish and Vietnamese language support has been added to NG_Regens Manager 25.

I case you already playing a save and want to keep your currently assigned newgen faces (original NewGAN, FM.Z, FMRTE) but use my pack for new faces I also got you covered - see Keeping your current regens section below.

Here is a showcase of how it looks in-game.

A tactics screen of a european team. 4 are real photos, the rest are newgens. Can you guess who is who?

And here is a Brazilian u19 team, all are regens here:

You can check this reddit thread for some more showcase pictures.

Installation guide:

1 - If you do not have the big NG_Regens face pack already installed (about 6.5GB), then download the facepack from this very page or from mirrors below:
Mirror1: https://www.mediafire.com/file/ojt0v2oji2i7m23/NG_RegensPack_uptoPP2.zip/file
Mirror2: https://mega.nz/file/CpxwCDqZ#Jf3lp64OLo0eeV2_f7Rb-8trJtrztRkt037yjJ8n2Ks

If you only need small Picture Packs (about 1GB each) you can get it via the NG_Regens Manager 25.

2 - Copy the NG_Regens folder into your FM Graphics folder. It would be the same folder where you have put the original newgan facepack or where you put real facepacks. In my case that would be “Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024\graphics\faces\”

3. Download the NG_Regens Manager 25 here:

Windows:

Mirror 1: https://www.mediafire.com/file/l4sj6rztsw0enyi/NG_Regens_Manager_25_Installer_1.1a.exe/file

Mirror 2: https://mega.nz/file/flpkjLbZ#BDX6fJ1LnInmH22fOYMINzoqoO_fplzjrJTMuF0vlLo

Mac:

Mirror 2: https://mega.nz/file/LlRylaQZ#JcNSKTN5aA-LZKt4FY-V5FHqW6MrTW0F00AfYSekq4o

4. Watch the guide on Youtube.

Mac users, if you want to install Picture Pack automatically via the NG_Regens Manager, please disable automatic archive extraction in Safari's Preferences -> General , or use a different browser to download the picture packs. The program expects the original .zip file, otherwise you will get CRC error.

Keeping your current regens

If you’ve already got a save going and want to keep your existing regen faces but generate new ones using my latest pack—you’re all good, I’ve got you covered! The program can read both the classic NewGAN format (Zealand’s original one) and the newer FM.Z/URAN format. If anyone’s using a different format, definitely let me know so I can look into it.

Just a heads-up though—this compatibility is one-way:
You can use your old mappings with this tool, but you won’t be able to go back and use classic NewGAN/FM.Z/FMRTE afterwards (or at least, I honestly have no idea what would happen).

So here’s what to do:
Find your current regen pictures folder — this is the folder you've been using as your image folder in NewGAN Manager, FM.Z Manager, or FMRTE.

Copy the contents of the NG_Regens folder from the archive you downloaded in Step 1 of the guide and paste it right into that same image folder.

If you’re using the classic NewGAN format, your folders should now look something like this, with old and new folders side by side at the same level:

There’s just one small caveat: the folder called "Scandinavian" exists in both the old and new packs. But don’t worry—our files have different names, so they won’t overwrite each other.

Here’s what will happen with that specific folder:
Your old face assignments will stay intact—no worries there. The system will treat the "Scandinavian" pics from both packs as part of the same group. That means you might see old faces showing up on new players and if you start a new save and click "Generate", the program will pull from both versions. You’ll basically end up with a Scandinavian mega-pack of around 12,000 pics.

If you’re using the FM.Z/URAN format, your folder structure should look like this:

Just keep them at the same level in the directory and you’re all set!

If you have any questions regarding the installation or anything else, you can leave a comment here, on my youtube channel or you can send me an email to [email protected]

I hope you have fun with the pack and have a very nice day!

F.A.Q.

Q: When I try to import a shortlist, I get a "Parsing failed, this shortlist is invalid" message.

A:
This usually means the exported shortlist wasn’t in the correct format. Here's how to fix it:

Make sure the correct view is imported and active before exporting the shortlist.

You can follow along in my YouTube guide on how to export your shortlist.

Sometimes FM doesn't activate the newly imported view automatically. To fix this:

Click on your current view in the player search screen. Then go to "Custom" and select "SCRIPT FACES player search" to manually select the correct one.

Your player search screen should now look like the one in my video, with columns like:
UID, NAT, 2ND NAT, NAME, followed by three numeric columns.

To double-check, open your exported RTF file with any text editor (like Notepad). If everything was done correctly, the file should have a structure like this:

| UID | Nat | 2nd Nat | Name | | | |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| 2002075057| ESP | | Juan Pablo Abascal | 1 | 5 | 1 |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| 2002074630| ENG | | Andy Stafford | 2 | 5 | 9 |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| 2002076407| AUS | POR | Tozé Fareleiro | 1 | 16 | 3 |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Q: I started a new game with fake players, but when I try to generate faces, they get skipped in your software and don’t get assigned in-game.

A:
This is due to how SI handles fake players. When fake players are used, FM keeps the original IDs of real players but replaces their names and statts. For example, if Messi has ID 123456, a fake Argentinian player will appear with that same ID — and since FM assigns faces based on IDs, that fake player would technically receive Messi’s face.

To avoid this kind of mismatch, it seems SI has completely blocked custom face assignment for fake players. So, even if the software tries to assign a face, FM simply won’t display it.

There might be a hidden workaround to force the game to allow face assignments for fake players, but as of now, I’m not aware of any reliable method.

Q: Why did you create a new folder structure? / How can I unpack your pack into the old NewGAN "Italmed/YugoGreek..." folders?

A:
First off, huge shoutout to the original NewGAN team—they did an amazing job, and their work is still being used by thousands of people today. Even my project builds on the filters and views they created, so big respect to them. Seriously, none of this would be possible without their foundation.

That said, the original NewGAN pack came out about five years ago, and it was built using the tools and structure available at the time. It only has 14 categories for the entire world. A lot of care went into the big football nations, but unfortunately, many other countries kind of got lumped together in ways that don’t really make sense.

Let’s do a little experiment: I could show you a few images from my pack, each from a different category. In the old NewGAN setup, all of those would’ve ended up in the same group—meaning a player from one of those countries could randomly get any of those faces.

Notice the difference? That’s why it’s just not possible to repackage my set back into the old structure without losing all the nuance (or simply creating a mess).

That said, you can totally keep using your existing save where players already have NewGAN faces assigned, and just use my pack for generating new faces. I’ve got a guide on Reddit that walks you through it—look for the section called "Keeping your current regens."

Q:
What’s the current state of the facepack? What are your plans going forward? What’s the overall vision?

A:
The big-picture goal is to make the most realistic regen experience possible — ideally, I want every country in the world to be playable with newgens that actually feel like they could be real players from that nation. I want you to be able to load up a save in the Philippines, Haiti, or Mali, play a few seasons, and not be able to tell who’s a regen and who’s an original player. That’s the dream.

Are we there yet? Not even close.

Right now, the facepack is basically a solid skeleton. It represents the major world regions pretty well, at least in a general sense. What I’m currently working on is improving the overall quality: I’ve been dropping picture packs that upgrade older images with better, more lifelike ones.

Along with that, I’m also aiming to make the age range more consistent — my sweet spot is around 16–20 years old, since that’s the typical age for regens when they pop up. I want every region to reflect that.

Once the entire world is upgraded to the new image quality, the next step is to double the image count — way more variety, way more realism. After that? The ultimate goal: creating a believable, country-specific facepack for every nation in the game.

Thanks for the reply, yeah I looked over the facepack again seem like you updated the texture to make them look better.
  • cprrylow's avatar
    Hi mate,
I distribute them via the software, not because I want to be difficult, but because it's incredibly time-consuming for me to manage links otherwise. I would need to distribute them to 4 places instead of 1, maintain them in 4 different locations if a link changes, and if I make a typo, it would be harder to track down... This might seem unimportant now with only two picture packs, but imagine how it would look when we get to 10 or 20...
Also, as summer is approaching, I won't be able to generate as much content (or I'd die from overheating), so my idea was to reduce the size of picture packs and distribute them more frequently but with less content per pack. In that case, I would only update the big pack once every 20,000 pictures or so. If I had to update 4 pages every time I release a small pack, I'd probably just stop doing this altogether :)
Also worth noting: the Reddit page now gets auto-deleted by filters every time I update it, and I need to ask mods to undo that... so yeah
  • Fwied's avatar
Hi, when you release new packs can they also be link for them as a separate file and not a combined?
  • cprrylow's avatar
I will gradually increase the total number of pictures with each new picture pack, but I think the total number of pictures you need for a normal save is much lower than many people expect. That is, of course, unless you're doing something extreme like a Tier 20 England start or an AFC Thames-style six-year stint in the Vanarama National.
  • kubunio's avatar
Mixed this pack with FM.Z as well as the original newgan stuff and have come out to 420k+ faces. This method is really much better as it matches so much more closer to the countries looks. Maybe one day it'll be every single country gets its own folder.

Great work, hope you continue it for a long time.

Yeah, you can check the config file to get a good idea—probably covers around 85% of the countries. But keep in mind, some countries don’t use static pack assignments. Instead, the pictures are selected dynamically based on a few different factors.

For example, most of Latin America, the Caribbean, Belgium, and Switzerland don’t rely on static mappings (even though you'll see them listed in the table—they're just not actually used).

Here are the main packs used for Latin America:

Mestizo, AfroCaribbean, IndigenousSA, MixedRace, Spain, Italy, Portugal

Belgium pulls mostly from France and Netherlands, while Switzerland pulls from France, CentralEurope, and Italy.

Now, if players have non-default ethnicities, the rules shift a bit—for instance:

    Belgium may pull from Congo

Switzerland might pull from Albania/Kosovo, etc.

So yeah, the system's pretty flexible and tries to match things as naturally as possible!. If this whole thing is a thing for FM26 onwards I have some ideas how make this even more cool.

P.S. Picture Pack 2 comes in the next couple of days, I just need to get France sorted (and it is harder than I expected)

@kubunio yes will take some time to do it. You go into the new cfg file that cprrylow gave us. Then you should see the following below in the cfg file. For example ALB. Then you go into the FM.Z facepack and find ALB which should be in the folder male/1 for the FM.Z facepack folder. Then move ALL the ALB faces into the NG_Regens AlbanianGreek folder. Repeat for all the faces.
    {
    "Ethnics": {
    "AFG": "Iran",
    "AIA": "Afrocaribbean",
    "ALB": "AlbanianGreek",
    "ALG": "Maghreb",
    "AND": "Spain",

Is there a list for which country codes are allocated to what files? Trying to transfer FM.Z faces to this one where they have it coded faces by country.

I totally get where you’re coming from. I can help you add the old folders into my structure, that also partially works the other way round, but only for some folders. I've actually updated the main post with an FAQ—check out the image in the last question. It really shows why this doesn’t work in reverse.

If you try to add my folders into the old NewGAN structure, you’ll end up with stuff like Czech players getting Kazakh faces. It’s not just a small mismatch—my folders include ethnicities that straight up don’t exist in the original NewGAN setup. So trying to force them in would break the realism or simply make it look stupid.

Now, if you want to merge the old NewGAN folders into mine, that’s generally doable. Just keep in mind, some categories will end up with way more pictures than others. But if you're okay with that, here's roughly how I’d approach it—starting with the easiest matches and moving toward the ones that are kind of a stretch:

Italmed - easy, dump everything into Italia
Scandinavian - easy, dump into Scandinavian
Caucasian - dump all into Anglosphere or split with Ireland
YugoGreek - split between AlbanianGreek and WestBalkan
SpanMed - split between Spain and Portugal
MENA - dump into Maghreb, maybe also drop some into Turkish
Asian - split between China, Japan and Korea
Seasian - split between MainlandSEA, Vietnam, Filipino, Singapur, Indonesia and Malaysia
MESA - split between Mashriq, Iran and ArabGulf
African - I guess split between Afrocaribbean, CentralAfrica, EastAfrica, SahelianAfrica, SouthernAfrica, HornOfAfrica and WestAfrica. But I guess you already see the issue here.
South American and SAMed - I guess into Mestizo, but thats a big stretch already.
Central European - Split between CentralEurope, Netherlands, France, WestSlavic, Hungary and Poland.
EECA - I have no idea, this is the most senseless folder of them all. I guess split between EastSlavic, Baltics, Finstonia, Caucasus and Armenia just to rise the picture count there.

As you can see, there are a few of my folders that I don’t even mention here—CentralAsia, Uzbekistan, PacificIslanders, MixedRace, SouthAsia—because there are simply no equivalents for them in the original NewGAN.

So yeah, technically you could try to do it in reverse and fit my pack into the old structure, but honestly, it doesn’t really make sense for the second half of the folders. There's just no proper place for them to go in that setup.

    cprrylow
Don't get me wrong, your work is better and more accurate than previous versions, that's understandable, but if I have to choose your 90,000 thousand with more accurate distribution of new newgens, I'd rather add them to the 300,000 thousand from older versions and have 390,000 (even though they will be less accurate distributed to countries
    Best regards
  • zamek9's avatar
Can you write where to paste your folders into the old folders? I mainly mean the MESA, MENA, Samed, EECA folders, I have no idea what to put into these folders from your packages, so as not to confuse the regions, something like you wrote on the page "Update 03.06.2025 Picture Pack 1 + NG_Regens Manager 25" only with folders as above from the old packages.
And if you added such an explanation in your package for those who do not want to give up the previous packages and just combine them all together, it would be great
many people would definitely be grateful to you and your package would definitely be universal then : )
  • cprrylow's avatar
Check the Reddit page — there’s a guide on how to properly unpack the folders if you want to keep your current faces, there is a section there called "Keeping your current regens".

    In short:
Unpack my new folders in parallel to your old ones. So, for example, the new “Italy” folder should be next to your old “Italmed” folder. Then, start my program, point it to that one big folder, and use "Preserve" mode to generate new faces for your current save.

    This way:

Your old regens (who already have a face assigned) will keep their existing faces.
All new regens will get faces from my new pack.
The old folders won’t be used anymore to generate new faces — they’ll only display faces that are already mapped in your current config.xml.

If it were technically possible to keep using the old structure and still have a realistic setup, I absolutely would’ve stuck with it. I wouldn’t have spent time building new software. But as I’ve said before, I just don’t see how that’s possible with any level of realism.

And just to be clear — I’m in no way criticizing the NewGAN creators. They’ve done an amazing job with the tools they had at the time. Massive respect to them. I still use their views and filters to this day in this project.
  • zamek9's avatar
I know that I can upload your faces to my old, existing folders, but the thing is that your folders are divided into countries and not all of them are known to be placed in the game, not to mention the fact that when uploading them like that, the faces will be incorrectly assigned to players, black players will receive white ones and vice versa
  • zamek9's avatar
Does this mean that when installing using your program, your faces will be installed appropriately to the old folders I have, Crucian Spanmed, Italmed, etc.?
  • cprrylow's avatar
@zamek9 You don’t have to sort anything into the classic NewGAN folder structure. You can just use the software I provide — it takes care of all the mappings for you.

If you already have a save going, you can even dump the old folders into my new ones (or the other way around), and my software will generate new mappings using the new faces — but it will keep your old NewGAN faces for players that already have them. That way, you won’t lose anything in your current save.

Honestly, I have no idea how to make realistic enough faces using the old NewGAN system. It’s just way too ungranular.

Take East Asia, for example — it’s all in a single folder. If I only have generic Asian-looking faces, fine. But if I’ve got Japanese, Korean, and Chinese faces, where am I supposed to put them? All in the same folder? Then you’ll end up with Japanese players having Korean faces, Koreans with Chinese faces, etc.

Same thing with other folders: Czechia, Estonia, Russia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan are all lumped into one. Every Black-looking person on Earth gets thrown into a single folder. The only regions that are granular enough are Western/Northern Europe, and maybe parts of South America. There are only like 11 or 12 categories for the whole world...
  • zamek9's avatar
The package is cool but when I think that I have to put in so much work to sort them into MENA, MESA, Italmaed folders etc. I don't want to upload it. In the version with these folders it would be much better because it would be possible to combine them with other best packages without any problems
  • tomlwd's avatar
@cprrylow I did the first two tests and it created a new set of faces for all but one of my youth intake as far as i can tell. Not sure why my original config file was not working but thank you for all your support!

  • cprrylow's avatar
@tomlwd Could you please run the following tests for me:

    1) Test Default Faces:
Move the current config.xml out of the NG_Regens folder, then reload your FM skin.
Expected result: All regens should revert to the default SI faces.

    2) Test Fresh Mapping:
If the first test works as expected, then—without moving the original config.xml back—start the program and generate a completely new set of mappings from your RTF export.
(The program should automatically default to “Generate” mode when no config.xml is present.)

Once that’s done, go back to FM and reload your skin.
Expected result: All regens should now have appropriate faces from my pack.

If the second test doesn’t work as expected, could you please zip the following and send them to [email protected]:

    Your original (backed-up) config.xml
    The newly generated config.xml
    Your RTF export file

Cheers, mate! Let me know how it goes.
  • tomlwd's avatar
@cprrylow I have ruled out the possibility of it being another config file and its definitley your facepack thats appearing on youth intake immediately. i have also checked the rtf i am exporting and the players that arent getting faces are on the file so im not sure why it isnt applying
  • cprrylow's avatar
@tomlwd Is it possible that you have another "config.xml" file from a different regen software somewhere in your graphics folder? If newly generated players already have faces without you having generated them yourself, it's a strong indication that there's another config file somewhere that's applying a different mapping. Also dont forget to reload your FM skin, it will remember old config.xml/old mappings until you reload.
  • tomlwd's avatar
This facepack is fantastic but i have been having some small issues with whenever there is a new intake, players already have faces assigned to them but the faces are random and dont mathc the players ethnicity. Also some youth intake players just wont get assigned any faces no matter how many times i generate
  • cprrylow's avatar
I have fixed the download link, sorry once again for my fat fingers!

@daniswara you can theoretically use the old one, but I would appreciate if you would switch to the new software, as that would allow me to distribute you smaller facepacks faster without the need to update all the reddit/fms/siosi/etc pages all the time. New software can also replace old files with new correctly of you have a save going (or only replace those files that are unused by your current config.xml)
  • daniswara's avatar
OMG, thank you for the updates!

Quick question: Do I need to download the custom NG Regens Manager to use Picture Pack 1? The old Big Pack was working fine with the previous NewGan Manager you provided earlier. Or can I just drag and replace Picture Pack 1 into my old Big Pack folder?
  • cprrylow's avatar
Guys I have fingered a wrong link under the download button, sorry... I will update as soon as I can, for now please check the reddit page for the correct one, should be around 6.5GB in size. The one under the button is the Picture Pack 1 only, you only need it if you have the old big pack from 2 weeks ago.
