Genie Scout 23 "g" edition now free!

As of October 1st, the special "g" edition of Genie Scout is available for free! Normally this edition requires a license and is only given to Eugene's direct supporters who donate to keep the development of this brilliant tool alive.
Genie Scout 23g has no ads and includes some extra features, such as GS STATS, search by role rating and probability of development.

No. However, we exclusively release a real time editor:

How to run GS23

Extract the downloaded .zip file and run the setup .exe file.

Follow instructions until installation is finished.

Run Football Manager 2023 and load your saved game.

Launch Genie Scout 23 and from main menu click "Load Game".

Donate to Eugene to get the "g" edition

As usual, Genie Scout 23 comes in two editions:

The public edition comes with 2 banner ads.

The "g" edition has no ads and includes a few minor extra features.

In order to get the "g" edition, you need to donate to Eugene.

Genie Scout 23g Explained

DELIVERY OF THE 'G' EDITION:
Eugene has automatized the process of distribution for the "g" edition, so you will have to wait just a few minutes before you receive a download link. Another email containing the key file might take a while though. But only if they have sent correct contact email, correct Unique ID alongside your donation.

Make sure you check your Spam folder too.
It might take up to 24 hours though. In case of problem with your donation, please contact Eugene using the email address you'll see in the message after donation.

IMPORTANT:
Donations are handled by Eugene. He will deliver the ad-free version to you after donation.

Bug Reports

During closed beta stage for supporters, Eugene fixed most bugs that came to surface. As a result, the public edition should be reasonably stable from its very first version.

Should you find a bug, please report it to the Genie Scout forum.
Read this before submitting any bugs!

Known issues:
- Sale value for players is not accurate and sadly we have no way of making it work as it used to be before GS13.
- In-Game Scout works, but not always for everyone. Eugene is still trying to find a way to make it work more consistently.

Any comment including bug report posted on this page will be removed on sight!

EXPORTING DATA:
Please understand it is forbidden by the EULA from SI and SEGA to export all the data from the results. You should be able to export only basic information such as player name, club, age, etc.

chipthompson I just keep getting an error message saying my version of FM is not supported? Would anyone know why?:

I believe it will be because of the latest FM update - Eugene has to update the scout to run.
Genie is normally accessible a few days following the FM update.

Hi, I am a huge fan of your work. I have some requests on player calculations. Lets say you have a CF. Now, obviously, pace is critical but there is a point at around 16+ where it arguably becomes less important ie law of diminishing returns. It could be an idea to have an optional lock on the maximum attribute you can rate. Another example is wingers. They need enough strength to stay on their feet but having strength of about 14+ is excessive and may result in someone like Adama Traore getting a better rating than a more all rounded winger.

Another idea I would like to see is being able to make some limited custom formulas. So lets say you are searching for a CF and you get your PA ranking it might be an idea to have another tab which divides that score against say the players market value or sale fee.

hello, i'm playing fm23 via game pass. but when i try to use GS, it gives an error "Football Manager is not found." (i ran it as admin as well, did not help)
does anyone know the solution?

I just did my donation to obtain "g" version of GS23, however there was nowhere to put the id it simply went through paypal, what to do? I wish the donation system was easier to deal with. Will the key file be sent without the id ?

For those who can't wait for the public GS23 to be updated later this month and don't wish to support Eugene, you can use FMSE23 in the meantime. The basic scouting features most people need (see CA, PA, hidden attributes, etc) are free there.

As stated on our posting guidelines:

NO advertising allowed without staff permission. Anything we don't develop (tools) nor publish (content) here, should be avoided.
So keep that in mind please.
@mattw123: Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I only recommend following our posting guidelines.

@refree1990: If Eugene's store for donations worked right after the main winter patch (23.3), the 4-week delay would begin on March 2nd and we'd have an updated public GS23 by now. However, it didn't work at the time and public GS23 got updated for that patch after a few days. Now that he has a working store, he chose to apply that delay as he usually does on 2 occasions each year (game launch, winter patch).

@Sciv: I've seen your message on chat. Eugene would probably have a better idea, but it's possible that the FastSpring platform might have an issue accepting payment from certain countries.

@mimis13: Were you able to donate successfully in a previous year? I'm not aware of any issues for people from Greece.

@ernestbugaj: Please message Eugene directly at [email protected] - make sure to check your spam folder just in case. Sometimes, another possible reason is a typo when filling out the email address.

@stalin76 @Sonygoal69: It's the same drill each year. A 4-week delay for the public edition after game launch and after the winter patch. It's Eugene's way of rewarding his direct supporters. In all other occasions, public and g editions are updated at the same time.

@charmander: That's something for Eugene to answer. I know he has been very busy with real life matters and that he's planning to spend more time on GS development going into next season.

@artvandelay80: It's understandable. It's not very likely, but I'll ask him anyway.

@YILDIRIM @ofekmek: Seems like you didn't place the key file in the GS23g installation folder. That could explain wrong nations, stats, etc.

@Joshmontage98 @Flosse FC: The public edition hasn't been updated yet to work with the latest 23.4.0 patch.

As a G version donater and also using it since last update, I also would like to see public edition to be released soon and would like to play with public version. G version is a more complexed programme and it works slower than public version. Still, much appreciated to Eugene. Simply I cannot play this game without Genie Scout. Thanks for your effort.

This is a little disapointing. We are over 12 months on from the issues and resettlements in western Europe, so we dont have that as a factor anymore. The product hasnt evolved, and the releases have been pointless this year. Just an opinion, which I am entitled to.

I recommend FMRTE to everyone. Stam will not like this as it drives traffic away, but it is a product that is up to date and is free.

Dear Stam, i'm really thankful for the effort made in these years by fmscout.com, it's really great for all of us. However is difficult to believe that public edition is delayed to the end of april "because it wasn't possible for Eugene to do it after the main winter patch due to issues with his old store" if the g edition was updated in march the 30th (Build 1311). So, it's rightful if Eugene wants to wait a couple of weeks after the g release to earn something on his excellent work, but it would be honest to say for a choice and not for issue. PS I hope that will be fixed also the crash that happens closing all the builds so far.

ok, this season's fm scout genie didn't go as planned. tried to donate, or better buy the service in any ways that might be possible, but no one got me the product. (the picture is edited to hide my personal data)

I have been using public version of Genie Scout from many years.
This year I wanted to gave a donation to Eugene for the first time.
31.03 I've sent a donation and till this day I still haven't received a key-file..
As @charmander said - the service is terrible.
If you are considering a donation - think twice.

I have posted this repeatedly, and almost every single year on these forums. Not asking for new features, but requesting to stop doing a half baked job.

Will not buy GS g Edition this year, sorry. This terrible service cannot continue. A decent reply would have sufficed, but our requests have fallen on deaf ears.
