Public editionWe won't make any promises on the release date of the public version, but most likely we'll be able to release it during November.

"g" edition
The "g" edition, which is the one for people who donate, is available since 16 October (beta 1). Current version is beta 9 and available since 28 November.
Reminder: The "g" edition is ad-free and has a few extra features compared to the public edition.

How to get Genie Scout 14 public edition earlier!
We will make the public edition available for download earlier for people who have signed up for our newsletter. All you need to do is give us your email and verify it by clicking the confirmation link in the email you'll receive.You will receive an email with the download link to the first Genie Scout 14 beta version of the public edition a bit earlier than everyone else.
How much earlier? Well, it could be for half a day or two days. Once that time has passed, it will be available for free download on our site of course for everyone else. Why lose a single hour though? Signing up for our newsletter is free!

we need to be patient once genie is ready eugene will release it, every year is like this, we need to thank him for genie scout and not create problems demanding (????) it's release...once it's ready it's out, he's a father of a newborn, i'm a father of a newborn also, and i understand him perfectly, i'm sure he's doing his best...

You're just trying to defend your errors without success.
Why "g" version is available and public version isn't?
The "g" version becomes available early as a closed beta for the select few people who support the GS project by donating to Eugene. During closed beta, there are quite a few bugs that we need to iron out and core features to re-enable for new FM before releasing a public beta. Otherwise, we'll be receiving an enormous amount of complaints and that wouldn't be helpful at all. The delay between "g" and public also encourages people to appreciate the tool and donate more.
We choose to receive a few complaints about a "delayed" public version instead of many angry bug reports. The public version will still be a beta by the way but very close to the final stable version.

It's obvious that my "rude" comment wasn't aimed at people who have donated. Next time think twice before you question my words.

Surely we all have lives, problems and priorities... but when you criticize someone, you need to have at least a similar experience. Have you ever released something for free for public use that was actually popular? Rhetorical question.
I still provided an answer for the release date though, which makes your comment look random. You're just trying to defend your initial opinion without success.
You're a newcomer and you have no right to question a staff member who has been here for many years. If you think you can do a better job, start your own site and work on it for 9 years; then you'll know.
I'm not angry for receiving a lot of comments, private messages and emails. I'm just fed up of seeing ungrateful messages from people who have used and enjoyed Genie Scout in the past and yet they still can't appreciate our work.
It's very fortunate we can continue releasing Genie Scout and do it for free. If you can't respect that, please be silent and keep your comments to yourselves.

I'm right in what I said, if I'm a member for 5 days or 1 minute ... this is not the criterion of reason , I think so.
You should not talk like that to people who donated to the Eugene , everyone appreciates your work and Eugene . Unfortunately not everyone can donate for a utility to play a game , life is a much more complicated game . The way you talk who do not donate and just want to know information ( public scout day x ,and nobody bothered)was quite rude .
We all have lifes , working school family , and our priorities , I respect that side who is working for us , but in this case I had to talk it´s not important if i´m a 5 day member or 1 minute,I know you are angry because you receive many messages, but looking be more proficional another time , Nobody is crazy to complained about the specific release date of public version, without one reason.
Now, say we aren´t deserve an answer or the Gscout , by an error , which are completely unrelated...

1. You're not a customer. GS is not something you buy, it's free. And whoever donates, donates to Eugene (GS author), not to me.
2. Whoever is bitching knows it. You weren't one of those people, but obviously you didn't understand what I meant. I replied to you, didn't I?
3. We couldn't set a release date for several reasons. One of them is that Eugene is now a father of 2 (got a newborn last month) and his time is very limited. But who cares, right?
4. As I said I don't take donations, but I wouldn't really care to receive any from ungrateful people if I was.
5. You're a member for 5 days. You don't really get to tell me how to speak on my own site.
Just had to put things on certain dates, and nobody you bitching about the public release!

When public version is ready, you will receive an email with the download link before everyone else here (still not sure how much earlier).
Problems with donation?
Allow up to 24 hours until you receive the emails with download link and key file. Make sure to check your spam/junk folder and your promotions tab (for gmail users) in case the email is already there. For any problem regarding your donation, please contact Eugene by sending him a private message. He's the only one involved with donations and the delivery of the "g" version.
Is there another way to donate except this fastspring thing?
I'm afraid not. Eugene lives in Ukraine and PayPal has issues with that country. FastSpring is the best service he has found that allows him to accept donations so far.
Where can I find my Unique ID since there's no public GS14 yet?
Use GS13 or GS12 to find your Unique ID. It's the same ID if it's for the same computer.

Will there be a Mac or Linux version?
No. Unfortunately, GS is for Windows only. For Mac users there's MacAssistant RT.

Tried shutting down FM and genie...tried unloading/reinstalling genie...it's still climbing. I'll try to capture some data and bug report it.
(Basic info I'm running W8-64 w/ 32GB RAM on an AMD 3.2 6-core system)
Everyone, Eugene remarks in his latest email to the paid folks that this is the "latest beta before the final release, all data is available now. In the final release, the new FM14 player roles will be added." What I understand from this is that the next release will likely be a public one. Judging by his update history, I'd expect the "final release" within the next two weeks, so not too much longer for you guys to wait.
Please take this with a grain of salt because I'm not Stam or Eugene (not that they themselves seem to be too accurate on their time estimates :P). I did donate $3 - and I'm enjoying the game that much more, so I think it's worth it. I didn't have any problems personally on the installation side of things either.
beta 8 was stable, but beta 9 is not. approaching 900MB memory usage and climbing (FM has 630MB in use). It'll hit a point to where it spams out of memeory error and crashes.
