In this tutorial, I use three different formations. Two of these formations (4-3-3 & 4-4-2) use the same tactical philosophies but are just in a different formation (read next page for the reasoning on this). The third formation is a 5-3-2, which will be used against opposition who dominate the game against us and, also, in the final few minutes of games where we just need to hang on.
I will not cover set pieces in this tutorial. They will be covered in future tutorials. In the mean time, I have uploaded a set of Defending Corner Routines which are inspired by Jürgen Klopp's philosophies for these situations. Either click the link supplied in this paragraph or the image below for more details on it, as well as a download link.
In future episodes we will analyse the tactics used to understand their pros and cons, where they can change and what strengths we can emphasise. The future episodes will almost be more useful than this one, in that regard.
Please note that the tactics I detail in this tutorial are not what I recommend for everybody to use at all times. They are what I have decided to use based on what I have available to me in terms of player resources. As for the tactics discussed in this tutorial, I will upload them at a later date if they prove to be successful for me.
