Where Else Can I Look For Players?

Now this is a section which I spend hours at a time working through very regularly throughout the save because you can quickly find players who would become good additions to your club this way. I'm talking about going to a Nation's Transfer tab. It is, perhaps, an area that is not well known to many FMers but can be very useful for locating the youth intakes of every club in a nation as well as, more importantly, the players released from a club in that nation.

In this tab, you flick through the transfers/releases made in each month, and even organise it by name, date of activity, club, transfer type, fee, etc. I find this very useful as I can find players who have just been freshly released and offer them a new club to join, if they're good enough. I would, of course, either scout or trial these players before signing them, to make sure they are indeed of the right caliber to join. It can be quite exciting when a top club like Manchester City or Chelsea release a player who you feel you may have a wage demand within your budget.

Just because these players have been released doesn't mean they're bad players. Players are released from clubs for various reasons. Perhaps they didn't fit their manager's style of play, perhaps the level of competition in their old team was just too high, perhaps they just wanted to leave that club. The only way you can judge a released player's ability is by analysing him yourself. Make sure you leave no stone unturned when looking at players in this Tab, you may just find a player who can take your player to the next level (for free).
