There are 4 main factors in youth development for clubs to consider when scouting for Newgen’s; Youth Importance, Youth Facilities, Youth Coaching and Youth Recruitment. Every category is rated from 0-20 with 20 being the absolute best. On your screen’s, you will not visibly see the rating out of 20 – rather a text-based equivalent, but we have them detailed out below. All of these ratings are dynamic and over time will change in your saves.
Youth Importance
Simply put – does a club put emphasis on youth players? There are simply too many clubs which put an emphasis on youth to list, but this rating should not be ignored. First a higher Youth Importance rating means that a club will put more focus on youth development making those clubs ideal to scout or become an affiliate with. Secondly, a lower Youth Importance rating but partnered with higher ratings in the other categories can mean that a club has a fantastic Youth Academy but does not put emphasis on bringing them through to the first team and developing them there. This means you can possibly swoop in and offer development and playing time.Youth Facilities
Youth facilities are one of the key factors which contribute to the development and production of Newgen’s. This factor describes the level a club’s youth training facilities (academy facilities) are from a global standpoint. Better youth facilities mean you are more likely to see Youth Candidates with higher current abilities and possibly influence their potential ability when coming through the Academy.- 0 = None
- 1 - 3 = Poor Youth Facilities
- 4 - 5 = Basic Youth Facilities
- 6 - 7 = Below Average Youth Facilities
- 8 - 9 = Adequate Youth Facilities
- 10 - 11 = Average Youth Facilities
- 12 - 13 = Good Youth Facilities
- 14 - 15 = Great Youth Facilities
- 16 - 17 = Excellent Youth Facilities
- 18 - 19 = Superb Youth Facilities
- 20 = State of the Art Youth Facilities
Academy Coaching
This describes the quality and quantity of your coaching team at your academy. The higher the rating, the higher the quality of your coaching which allows more players to have a higher potential ability and start off with a higher current ability once entering the club on a youth intake day. Note that this does not guarantee that a newgen will reach their potential ability.- 0 - 2 = Basic
- 3 - 5 = Fairly Basic
- 6 - 9 = Average
- 10 - 13 = Adequate
- 14 - 16 = Good
- 17 - 19 = Excellent
- 20 = Exceptional
Youth Recruitment
In this category it is quite common to have high values as this describes how far and wide your reach is into recruiting players not only from your home nation – but also from foreign ones. This can be considered like a tiered system, where the best of the best in a region gets to choose the best youngsters from the best pools of talent while other clubs are at the bottom of the pecking order. A clubs’ youth recruitment is almost directly tied to their reputation (self explanatory) and a higher reputation will mean more players from a region or all over the world will look to those clubs to become the best player they can be.- 0 - 2 = Limited
- 3 - 5 = Basic
- 6 - 8 = Fairly Basic
- 9 - 11 = Average
- 12 - 14 = Above Average
- 15 - 16 = Good
- 17 - 19 = Excellent
- 20 = Exceptional

Other Notes
The above male and female lists only include the clubs that are best-of-the-best. However, it is not a requirement for a club to have all these factors to contribute towards producing high class Newgen’s. Likewise, it is not a guarantee that world class talents will consistently be coming out of these academies, nor is it a guarantee that they will reach their potential. What you should learn from this guide is that it is important to invest in your own infrastructure and scout academies far and wide. Many great academies are not listed simply because they don’t have all three factors’ meeting an “excellent” rating that I chose as a requirement to make the above lists. Developing strong youth coaching, facilities, recruitment and putting more emphasis on youth can help not just bring in more top class Newgen’s - but develop them when they are at your club.
