Attacking Free-Kicks: Direct Delivery

Now for a direct delivery of the free-kick into the box. You can go Near Post, Far Post, Penalty Area, 6 Yard Box or Cross Centre. This is just down to personal preference. For the sake of this guide, we’ll use Cross Centre as it delivers the ball in to the middle of the other options. Now let’s take a look at the instructions.

We have the more creative MC standing beside the corner taker (the AMC in this case) to offer variety. The striker marks the keeper in order to put him off and to challenge him for rebounds or 50/50 balls between them. One player disrupts the wall, two stay back to cover our bases and four go forward to attack the ball. Attacking free-kicks delivered directly to the box don’t offer much in variety in this FM, unfortunately, so that’s how it is done.
