Football Manager 2020 Tactics - Marmalade by Zinaldinho // FM20 Tactic

Marmalade Tactic

My first tactic that i have released on FM Scout so i hope you all like my tactic. Please feel free to comment on what you think of it!

The Roles

My tactic is an old fashioned 433 formation but with a modern gegenpress style. A very high intensity pressing style starts from the front with my front 3 pressing high up the pitch and putting lots of pressure on the opponents backline.

The most important players in this formation is the 2 wing backs which is no suprise as they not only do there defensive duties but they are the sides presence up and down the flanks so suggest you have 2 players for each postion as you will need to rotate these alot.

In the centre of the park i have went for a role which isn't utlised alot in FM which is the roaming playmaker. With not having a lot of width in the team i am using 2 of these and giving them the freedom to roam in to the space out wide and to give them a bit of creative freedom. Anchorned in the centre of those 2 is a ball winning midfielder. Every team requires a ''water carrier'' and my team is no different. His main role is to break up attacks and win possession and then feed both roaming playmakers.

Very fair point, yes. I will be more constructive here in the future. No need to apologise.

Well if it sounded like it was me then i apologise. I just dont like to see people critising other people's tactics especially when its the 1st they post as it could put them off posting again and it seemed to me that is what you were doing but if i picked it up wrong then my bad. We should try encourage others not put them off. So maybe give them pointers on how to make it better.
I have saw some of your other posts and you seem to know what your doing so maybe try pass on some of your experience. Maybe even tweak the tactic and show were it could be made better could be an idea?

I think you are missing the point. FM scout will only post the results they are sent they do not test tactics. And i don't see why you think this tactic or any other tactic is suppose to work for every team that is just unrealisitc. Some tactics will work with underdogs but less successful with elite teams and vice versa. If you do not like this tactic then you do not need to download it. If you can do better than the ''so called'' experts why not upload your ''fits all teams'' tactic?

It's not just a tactic for the lower fancied teams. It's a tactic or a range of tactics for all situations. Too often I see miracle tactics posted where both full backs are FBA's or WBA's. When you are the underdog against a 4-3-3 with inside forwards you will get torn to absolute shreds. It's simply unrealistic to constantly be attacking, even on FM20 which supports attacking tactics. There's times where you have to compromise & concede territory & these are the types of situation that need teaching to people by the 'so labelled' experts.

Certain tactics work for certain type of teams. In my opinion this would be for an elite team. IN FM20 i dont think there any many tactics that fit all type of teams apart from 4321 or 442 formations. But feel free to try it with a lower team see how it does who knows may suprise us and work a treat!

You're using Liverpool.... How does this clearly over aggressive tactic work with a mid/lower Premier league team??

Full respect but doing this well with any of the big clubs is pretty easy. How about testing it with lower standard clubs, that's the true acid test of a balanced formation.
