5-3-2 Niko Kovac FM18 Tactics

This FM 2018 tactic is inspired from the real life tactics of Niko Kovac who is using this tactical system with very good results at Frankfurt this season (finished 8th).

Football Manager 2018 Tactics - 5-3-2 Niko Kovac FM18 Tactics
Balanced Football Manager 2018 tactic for any team. You need two fast strikers and two wing backs with decent pace and crossing.

In terms of tactics, Niko Kovac been able to construct an identity for Eintracht Frankfurt that relies on a few key ideas.

  1. A strong but disciplined press in a 5-3-2 shape without the ball, with Haller initiating the press and Rebic covering a lot of ground as the second striker.
  2. The wingbacks push up to put pressure to the opposition’s fullbacks.
  3. The midfield trio usually creates a triangle with Boateng up top, seeking to trap the opposition playmaker much like Tedesco’s Schalke or Hasenhüttl’s Leipzig.
They have the 6th most intensive press, and it does a good job of weaker opponents playing lots of long balls that the back three usually deals with.

I tested this tactic with Leicester.

    the club is called eintracht.

frankfurt plays in the fourth-tier regional league south.

you wouldn't write munich when you mean fc bayern, right? same here. and they didn't only finish eighth, they also won the german fa cup.

What results did you have with Leicester trying this? Unless I've missed them somewhere in this post.
