Sports Interactive have just announced that Football Manager 2020 is now free to play on Steam for 2 weeks (initially meant for 1 week). This is the first time Football Manager becomes free-to-play in its entirety and not as a half-season teaser demo. Of course there is a time limit you can play the game without activating it, but still.
If you already have a Steam account, getting access to the game is straightforward – all you have to do is head to the Football Manager 2020 page on Steam and hit the download button. The game will move to your library and will be fully playable until the free week ends.
If you don't already have a Steam account, go to steampowered.com, click on ‘Install Steam’ and follow the instructions. Once Steam is installed and you’ve set up an account, the process is the same as above.
This free access only applies to the PC/Mac game (on Steam) and it will only be playable free-of-charge until the 2nd week has expired. After this, you can continue your journey by purchasing a Steam key for the game at any time as your career progress will be saved in either your Documents folder or the Steam Cloud.
We recommend getting your FM20 Steam key through FM Scout because it's much cheaper than Steam store and it significantly supports our fan site to keep going forward.
FM2020 remains free to play for 1 more week as of March 24th. If you are already on board, there's nothing you need to do - as your progress to date will continue into the second week. If you are yet to get involved, join over 100,000 playing now and create your own football story today.
