The extra round/matchdays are filled (at the end of the LOI season and the beginning of the NIFL season) with each team playing 10 or 12 crossborder games before the best finisher from each side play off in a two-legged final. Everyone's season is the same length as before, plus or minus a game.
Could definitely use some testing, and open to suggestions on ways to improve it. I'd love to make the results count in each country's league standings but can't think of a clean way to do it.
