  • - The U17 World Cup is held annually, following the 2025 format, with the only difference being that the tournament venue rotates.
  • - There are 48 teams divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two advancing to the round of 32 along with the eight best third-place finishers. It is played between November and December.
  • - The CONMEBOL qualifier follows a group stage where teams are divided into two groups: the first-place finishers advance to the playoff for the title, while the third- and fourth-place finishers advance to the playoff for the remaining three spots. There are seven spots in total for the World Cup.
  • - The CONCACAF qualifier is divided into eight groups, with a single round, where the top-place finishers in each group advance to the World Cup. There are eight spots in total.
  • - The AFC qualifier follows a first group stage of 10 groups, with the first-place finishers and the six best second-place finishers advancing to the group stage. The top two teams in each group qualify for the World Cup. There are 8 spots in total.
  • - The CAF qualifier follows a format very similar to the Asian group, where the third-place teams play off each other for two additional spots in the World Cup. There are 10 spots in total.
  • - The OFC qualifier follows a group stage format, where 8 teams qualify for the quarterfinals, and then the winners of the semifinals qualify for the World Cup. There are 2 spots.
  • - In UEFA, the format is similar to the African group, with an initial group stage to select 24 teams for the finals, where the top two teams in each group qualify for the World Cup. There are 12 spots.
  • - The host country qualifies directly for the finals but plays in the qualifiers. If the host country is from the AFC, UEFA, or CONCACAF, the spot goes to the next-place team in its group. If the host country is from CONMEBOL/OFC/CAF but qualifies for the World Cup, the spot goes to the highest-ranked team in the FIFA rankings.
