I used a similar tactic in FM20 with a bunch of clubs and the most notable results I got were :
- CL winner with AS Roma in 2 seasons (and quite a lot of transfers in the meantime),
- 3 seasons in a row winning championship, national cup and CL with Real Madrid (was around 2030 so I had a lot of regen players)
- Took Jena from Bundesliga 3 to 1 in 5 years.
With FM22 now out, I took it with Pau FC and changed a few things. Now here's the thing, Pau is club more suited to the 3rd Division but they surprisingly managed to avoid relegation and ended 14th in the 20-21 season.
You start the game with players on loan, bad infrastructure, and something like 200K€ transfer budget. The only thing the board asks is to remain in 2nd division but it's far from an easy task: you need new players, the ones you have are so bad no-one is interested into buying them.
While the beginning of the season was hard (almost got fired) always staying in 17th-15th, the next half started so well I has a streak of 10-11 games without defeat and even had a chance to get promoted.
So the tactic, highly offensive + based on control. Defense is not perfect but your strikers are here to do the job. Works with big clubs, worked with a bad one.
