UD Las Palmas - Onwards to glorious days

Introduction
I was finally able to start a FM 2010 game. At first I decided to manage Olympiacos, as it's my favourite team in Greece and I know the team well, but I gave it up before the 1st season came to an end. I wanted another kind of challenge, something more exciting. I thought Spanish premier league should be a good challenge, so I was thinking about which 2nd division team to manage. The choice was easy though, because of my FM past. I remembered one of my favourite FM players of the past, the spanish starlet Aythami and his teammate Aleman... both playing for Las Palmas back in the day. Well, they are both gone from the team now, but I liked the name, the location and the stadium. So, let's get this story started.

About Las Palmas
Union Deportiva Las Palmas, S.A.D. is a Spanish football team based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in the autonomous community of Canary Islands. Founded in 22/08/1949, it plays in Segunda Division. Its stadium is Estadio de Gran Canaria, with a capacity of 32,520.

Meeting the team and setting season expectations
The president would give me 0 funds for transfers and some tight wage budget whatever my ambitions were. So, I selected avoid relegation, as the media had me for relegation this season. They let me use 35% of any outgoing transfers as potential transfer budget.
I mutually terminated most staff contracts and tried to bring better replacements, while focusing a bit on custom training schedules. It was the best I could do, as I had no money for player transfers.
The team wasn't so bad to go down in relegation, so I hoped we could battle for a mid-table finish.
In Spain, you can only register 25 players, which actually helped me to limit my choices and decide more precisely about the first teamers and the backups.

As I've reached the year 2014 at this point, I don't remember all my players back in 2009, but I'll give it a try. Let's see the transfers I was able to make..
