Football Manager 2026 League Updates - FM26 CONMEBOL Realistic Leagues Pack
I've always been mesmerized by the amount of detail that goes into FM and the level of detail that it can recreate from real life.
I mean, it's still a game, but one has to appreciate the depth with which it reflects the world of football, and the editor is right there for us to further explore these depths.
I've been playing since FM17, and it's taken me years to muster the courage to plunge into the editor and tinker with every aspect of it. Slowly but surely, though, I have gotten more confident about my abilities, and so I finally feel comfortable sharing the results of my work.

Here, I present the top-tier divisions of the CONMEBOL nations missing from the game. All of the formats, rules, and numbers have been sourced from the real rulebooks, the football federations, and other reputable sites.
The few details that do not match reality are due to:
a) improvements on playability to reduce issues like fixture congestion, or
b) limitations on the editor.
Still, I have yet to find another creator that reaches the level of detail that has gone into creating these. Things like the accurate application of average points for relegation in Paraguay, or the addition of local regions for Venezuela to correctly draw groups for the cup, are a few that I haven't seen replicated in other files.

Which reminds me, I highly recommend playing with these for a fresh FM experience. They each have a few quirks that make them unique in terms of league formats, and you're guaranteed to be left scratching your head if you're not familiar with South American football and its shenanigans.

Without further ado then, I present you: the 4 leagues of Ecuador, Paraguay, Bolivia, and Venezuela.

ECUADOR's Liga Pro Serie A

The Liga Pro came up with a new format in 2025 and you can now play it to compete in the most overperforming league in CONMEBOL

16 teams play a traditional double round-robin
Then, they split into 3 groups: 1st-6th, 7th-12th, and 13th-16th.
Each group then plays another double round-robin within their group: the top group competes for the title, the middle group competes for the last continental qualification spot, and the bottom group fights against relegation.

PARAGUAY's Copa de Primera

The Copa de Primera is one of those leagues that is played twice a year: Apertura and Clausura tournaments.
They each feature a double round-robin between the 12 teams, and the team at the top of the table each tournament is crowned champion.

So, it's not that convoluted, until you look at relegation. For it, the clubs' points for the last 3 seasons are averaged, and the bottom 2 teams get relegated. (The Average Points table is tough to find in FM26, but you can find it in the league page, then click the 'About' card, and click on the 'Table' card on the mid-bottom).

BOLIVIA's División Profesional

Here, I've used the 2024 format because the amount of games played in 2025 was not manageable during World Cup years.

The season begins with a League Cup in which each team plays 8 games before the top teams qualify for the quarter finals, semi final, and the final.
By May, the league starts and is composed of a double-round robin between the 16 teams who fight to crown the top club at the end.

VENEZUELA's Liga FUTVE

Similar to Bolivia, the current format would lead to fixture congestion in years with international competitions, so I have used the 2023 format (which also rewards more consistency throughout the year).

14 teams play a double round-robin before the top 4 go into a championship group, where another double round-robin is played. Then, the top 2 in the championship group play a grand final to decide the season's champion. Simple, right?

The care that has gone into each of these makes me feel like a proud dad, so let me know what you think when you check them out!
Eventually, I would love to do the 2nd tiers for each of these, but I have other projects that are using all of my time (Canada and Mexico's women's leagues).
Feel free to comment any suggestions and have a great 2026.
