3322 | Catenaccio - 3 Variants

The tactic I have developed for this season with 3 variants, since the previous season did not go too well with the previous tactic being 7th for Conference (it seems not bad position but personal expectations were higher although the club marks mid-table, also the defense was not very good) and 2 seasons ago in the first year in Liga Santander being 14th, so in our 3rd year in Liga Santander I have developed a kind of Catenaccio with the famous 3322, my preferred formation. The tactic contains all customized set pieces.

Tactics:

What we achieve is to have a pretty solid defense in defensive zones with a line of 5, we try to press so that the ball is concentrated through the center where we have our strength.

In defense we have a defender with touch to be able to have the possibility to mount effective counterattacks, this defender requires to have at least a decent pass as you will understand, in my case Caruso for example I do not have him with touch because his pass is not good enough, but if you can use 2 defenders with touch better, we do not necessarily always go on the counterattack, in fact we do not force the counterattack in the tactic, in this aspect we give freedom to the team to get the ball out from behind or also mounting counterattacks.

We have 2 wingers in an attacking role to give depth to the flanks.

The sweeper here is the backbone of the team, he is the one who protects us from loose balls, the one who deploys in the defensive zone to comfort a line of 5 and the one who in the attacking phase becomes a kind of regista with the attacking role, this player is very important in the team.

Further forward we have the midfielder to protect the defense when the libero ventures into attack and the wingers are up top, so we maintain a line of 3.

In the midfield we have a support midfielder to help us in all phases of the team's play, this player must be quite complete.

A mezzala that gives us support on the wing with the wingers.

Second striker to give support to the midfielders.

And our man up front without more.
