In the first place, it seemed desirable that the Club should be able to compete in some strong League. The strongest available League is the Southern Amateur League, and the Committee have been fortunate enough to secure an invitation to join this League. It is probably generally known that this League is composed of eight of the strongest amateur Clubs in and around the Metropolis, so that by joining it the Club would have sixteen of the best matches that could be wished for

What is "Project Old Boy" - The Southern Amateur League (POB-SAL)?

POB-SAL is a FM23 project that seeks to provide a unique experience for players, as it makes available the Southern Amateur League, with 184 teams to play as, and 20 divisions and 10 cups to play for! The uniqueness of this database is on its attempt to recreate the feeling of "multi-level" football, with teams with multiple sides - for example, Civil Service or Actonians Association - being linked through B Team Affiliations. Therefore, these teams share the same board, facilities, etc, and players move freely between them.

Furthermore - as can be predicted by the Leagues' name - all teams and competitions are all-amateur, allowing for the game to be played in its purist form, without concern for wage or transfer budgets.

Leagues:

SAL Senior (three leagues).
SAL Intermediate (four leagues).
SAL Junior (four North leagues, six South leagues).
SAL Veterans (Two North leagues, one South league).

Cups:

SAL Senior Cup (open to all Senior leagues).
SAL Intermediate Cup (open to Intermediate leagues 1 to 3).
SAL Junior Cup (open to Intermediate leagues 4 and Junior leagues 1 North & South).
SAL Minor Cup (open to Junior leagues 2 North & South).
SAL Senior Novets Cup (open to Junior leagues 3 North & South).
SAL Intermediate Novets Cup (open to Junior leagues South 4 & 5).
SAL Junior Novets Cup (open to Junior leagues North 4 & South 6).
SAL Veterans Senior Sunday Cup (open to all Veterans leagues).
SAL Veterans Junior Sunday Cup (open to all Veterans leagues).
