2014-02-27 16:15#163294 AaronHJFT96 : Very poor month, but no doubt an extremely hard start!

Although I do have to ask...How have you got three points in three games if you haven't won once? (This is probably just me being stupid lol)

You aren't being stupid. I played far ahead in the season and then got my league table screenshots mixed up so I think I have missed out this latest month's table. I have removed it to avoid any confusion. Plus, we did get a win against Fulham in August which gives us those three points; we are now at four because of the draw against Spurs. Apologies for the confusion, although it does show you actually read it thoroughly :)
Ah, I see! Well, cheers for explaining mate it was quite confusing lol :P But, what's the point in reading if you aren't going to read properly? lol, I always read through :D

October: Change in Fortunes

After the disappointment of last month, surely this would be the month to change our fortunes so far this season...and it certainly was. You can imagine my despair and disbelief when I saw that the first game of the month was going to be against another title challenging side in the form of Arsenal. To make matters worse, it was going to be played at the Emirates which is an extremely tough ground for any club to go to and come away with a positive result, which in our case is any results other than a loss. I mentioned in my last update that I wouldn’t be tinkering with formations and starting line-ups but instead keep the faith in my strategy with this group of players and have faith in their ability to perform and get a good result. And boy did the players not disappoint!

Sure we were lucky to come away with a point from the Emirates when you consider they had twenty-six shots compared to our three but it is always the end result that matters the most in this game! Yes they dominated possession like a typical Arsenal squad and in fact we hardly saw any of the ball and the key moments I viewed mainly involved them firing shot after shot at our goal, but it is always the end result that matters in this game! This result seemed to give the players that confidence that I thought I was going to struggle to instil in them. The result of this new found confidence was another two positive results to finish off the month.

Swansea City is a club I think highly of in real life. They are great on the ball and their quick passing movements are something to admire. And yes, this occurred in-game with them having an overall 60% possession of the ball but here’s that phrase again, it is always the end result that matters in this game! Yes our goal in the game as an own goal after a cracking cross from Jordan Ibe so our players had so far failed to find the goal this month but it is always the end....well, you know the rest by now. We didn’t however fail to find the goal ourselves in the final match of the month. Gozie Ugwu was a brilliant player for us last season with him scoring goal after goal and without those goals, we wouldn’t be where we are today. I was worried about whether he would be able to step up his game in the Premier League and the game against Crystal Palace who are definitely over-achieving so far this season, proved that he is capable. His hat-trick against Palace is one he will remember and it could be the single three moments that really kick start out season. Come on Notts County!

Player of the Month – Gozie Ugwu

That was a great month! unbeaten...And a draw to Arsenal!! Well done lad!

I still can't quite believe how well it went. A draw against Arsenal is my best result of this whole journey thus far!

November: Over-Achievement

What is over-achievement? Over-achievement is defined; by the Google definition service (others are available), as individuals who “perform better or achieve more success than expected. The implicit presumption is that the “over achiever” is achieving superior results through excessive effort.” Well, when you consider what we have achieved in the past two months, including this one, and where we now sit in the Premier League table, I think that we are the definition of the term over-achievement. Nobody at the beginning of the season gave us a chance; we were even given odds of 1000/1 to challenge for the title (I personally think that is worth a £1 bet!) However, we continue to defy the odds just like we did in the Championship last season.

This month alone showed our opponents that no matter the stature of the club, the players those club’s possess, that we are not afraid to go out and attack a game in order to come away with the result we want and deserve. This month we showed that to be our ethos. West Ham didn’t stand a chance and just weren’t given a sniff of a chance but instead crumbled against us and posed very little threats on our goal. The positive after effect of this game was evident in the second game of the month against Sheffield United. Sheffield United will be in and around us come the end of the season so it was fantastic to get such a good result against them.

The result against Southampton, despite it putting an end to our three game winning streak, was probably the best result of the month. Southampton, under the new management of Marcelo Bielsa, possess some great players and I will not be surprised if they challenge for a spot in Europe towards the end of the season. Despite coming up against the likes of Coutinho (formerly of Liverpool), Wilfried Zaha (formerly of Manchester United), Sami Khedira (formerly of Real Madrid) and Olivier Giroud (formerly of Arsenal) there was only one player who stood out. Jordan Ibe put in a fantastic performance which out-shown all of the international players that were on the pitch. Ibe is still a young player and with the amount of game time he is receiving, he will continue to develop. I do intend to try and sign him on a permanent deal for the club as I feel that with him on one wing, and the ever impressive Jack Grealish on the other, the chances and goals will surely come.

Player of the Month – Jordan Ibe

Wow! Great month! Nice to see Ibe doing well as well :)
A very good month! Good luck later! Ibe looks pretty good, maybe it will grow more.
Looks very good and enjoying it so far, keep it up :)
LFC: Things seemed to go a lot better and the players seemed to perform much better. Lets hope its a sign of good things to come.

bebero:It was indeed a very good month. I hope it continues. Ibe is a great player who would get a lot of game time at Notts County so I will be looking to sign him on a permanent deal.

Nero:I am glad you are enjoying it.
