Very good friendlies, matches very hard! Good luck, the Italian looks pretty good.
Some really good results! Came close against Bolton as well by the looks of it!
Huge win vs Braga, they are a good team though right? :P Good update, very nice to read as always :)
bebero:They were quite tough opponents so we did well to score the amount of goals that we did and keep a couple of teams out.

LFC:I couldn't quite understand the Bolton result...they are a team that we really should have been beating. Maybe it was a bit too much tinkering on my part.

TheFMProject:Braga are a pretty good side but I don't rate them all that much. I amglad you enjoyed it. Onto the next one.

August: Reality Check

Last season was a successful one and one that will go down in the history of Notts County football club. Despite being knocked out of the two domestic cup competitions, the league season went according to plan and saw us win the majority of our games which saw us win the league comfortably. You couldn’t blame a club in our position for brimming with confidence heading into a new league season, despite it now being in one of the top football leagues in the world and coming up against a number of world renowned clubs. When I looked over the fixture list for the first couple of months, it did make depressing reading. Within the first two months we are due to come up against the majority of the top teams in the league, including Everton and Chelsea who brought us back down to earth with a bump.

Even though we were comfortably beaten by both clubs, it was great to see us get on the score sheet and our Premier League account underway. It is clear that we are going to be able to score goals but avoiding conceding them is going to be a big concern for the majority of the rest of the season. I am hoping that Bossaerts and Streete or Miquel can form a solid partnership in front of Alnwick who will have the task of picking the ball out of the goal many times this coming season.

On a positive note, I can already tell we have got ourselves a bargain in Jack Grealish. It is already clear that he is going to be our biggest outlet and threat in every competition that we take part in this season. It was obvious he wasn’t over-awed by the quality of player we came up against in the first four games of the season but instead took the game to them and showed glimpses of the talented player that he is destined to be. Hopefully Jordan Ibe can also demonstrate his quality and provide us with another outlet on the right side of the pitch. With Ugwu and Rossi showing a good partnership during pre-season then goals will always come our way.

Player of the Month – Jack Grealish

Gotta be the best story on FMS this year!

September: Further Misery

I never headed into this Premier League campaign, the first in Nott County’s history, believing that we could do well. Don’t get me wrong, I head into every game optimistic about our chances and that we always could pull of a shock result; I just can’t see us doing anything else this season apart from being entangled in a relegation battle. After a month like this one, surely it is inevitable!

Everyone has to admit that the schedule has not been favourable for a club that is experiencing their first time in the top league. So far we have played Chelsea, Everton and now three other teams that could possibly finish in the top four; hell, you all saw in a previous update the dominance of Manchester City in the last few seasons. Giving us these tough challenges at the beginning of the season was cruel to say the least. The players will have come up into this league with confidence after the highs of last season with the championship win. These defeats will have just delivered them a sucker punch. What’s worse is the fact we have then exited a cup competition at the first hurdle to a club that are in a lower division than us. Morale is well and truly shattered! It is going to be a very difficult task to get the players back on side and performing to the standard I know they are capable of. I will however stick to the formation and tactics I and my players know and continue to be optimistic and have faith in their ability to perform.

Player of the Month – None

Tough month but luckily it is still early in the season.

It was a very tough and depressing month but I am surprised that we are where we are in the league. Hopefully we can steer further away from relegation next month.
least your not bottom of the league! player of the month - none is funny though haha

I just don't think any of them showed any potential of improving our situation. Nobody earned it so nobody gets it :)
Very tough month! I suppose a draw against Tottenham ain't the worst.

The result against Spurs was the only positive moment of the whole month. At least it shows we can do ok against some of the bigger clubs.
Very poor month, but no doubt an extremely hard start!

Although I do have to ask...How have you got three points in three games if you haven't won once? (This is probably just me being stupid lol)
