Keep going, you can win the league :)
Josh_MU:Well I am hoping that with not much left of the season we can just keep winning and carry on challenging for the title.

AdamFinchale:Fingers crossed.

Justice:I think we can but I don't like to say it outright usually as a lot of things can change.
You def can win the league!

An update is being written as we speak.

April: It’s in our hands...

It has been a while since I last updated this story due to the fact that it was taking a lot of dedication to write these updates, no matter how short and it was simply time that I couldn’t spare. I also was worried about the save becoming boring so took the decision to take a step away from FM14 for a couple of weeks with the aim to return reinvigorated for continuing this journey that I am on. Now I have decided to continue with this story I feel the need to recap with you the aims of the story. The first aim is to get this story past my previous personal best score of 66,192 views that I achieved with my Liverpool FC – The Future story. I am very proud that this story is motoring along to that number and is looking likely, as long as I keep writing the updates, and of course making them interesting, that I will achieve that first aim.

The second aim of the story is to make this journey last as long as possible; hopefully until the age that I would have to retire in the real world of football. This means that I will not be focusing on any other story and I will have to make tough decisions in order to prolong my management career; this is something I have already had to do. I am still as confident as I was when I wrote the first update, that this aim will be achieved and that you will not see another story from me until FM15 is released.

I think success in-game helps produce a successful story. A story that readers will want to keep coming back to, especially if you have started at rock bottom of the management ladder. This is something I have done and I am proud of what I have achieved thus far. I, and my Newcastle United side, are teetering on the edge of Premier League glory. It is simply in our hands. Despite not getting the win against Manchester City, which would have all but confirmed the title for us, we are still on pole position. Despite it being the closest league Premier League race for many a season (in-game), with ourselves and City being level on points, wins, draws, losses and goal difference, we are still the club at the top. We just need to carry on what we have done all season and produce performances when it matters most. I am confident that if we do this, it will be us lifting the Premier League trophy come May.

It is going to be a very tight affair. We need to win our last three games and just hope that either Man City slip up or we end up with that all important better goal difference.
can't wait to see the signings you make after winning the league plus who is ur top scorer

Jerome Sinclair is my top scorer and he is near the top of the Premier League Top Scorer chart also.

Month of Champions

I have to be brutally honest with myself when reflecting back on this season and admit that it was too close to call and came right down to the wire. It turned out to be the closest title race (in-game) for many years, which has now seen the end to the dominance of Manchester City who had won the league four out of five times in recent years. Our outstanding achievement this season will surely bring newly found confidence to other teams in future seasons as we have proved to them that the money of Manchester City can be beaten; even though it was very close come the end of the season.

When reflecting on ours and Manchester City’s final three games, we came up against teams of fairly similar calibre (respectively), which suggested that the league title would come down to goal difference. City had two out of the three games at home; they would come up against Tottenham Hotspur and Norwich City at home before a tough finish to the season with them visiting the Liberty Stadium and Swansea City. Our final three games saw us travel to Reading, Crystal Palace before finishing our season in front of our great home fans against Stoke City.

From above you can see that we performed magnificently at the end of the season. We got the three wins that we needed and more importantly, we did not concede any goals. Depending on City’s results this could have been a really important contributing factor to who would win the league title. However, it turns out that the match against Liberty Stadium was one step too far for Manchester City with them only coming away with a 1-1 draw. Despite late heroics from Sergio Aguero (again) it wasn’t enough as Swansea saw out the game; this something I am extremely grateful for as it meant that we got our hands on the club’s first trophy for many years.

When looking back on the season there are a number of matches that will stand out as signs of good things to come. A 2-1 win against Liverpool, followed by a 1-0 win against Chelsea showed early on that we should have been shown more respect at the beginning of the season. The next stand-out performance was a 3-1 win against Manchester United in front of the St James’ Park faithful who were repaid in that single game for their support thus far. Despite hitting a very difficult period in the season with two draws against Liverpool and Chelsea and a loss against title rivals Manchester City did little to knock our confidence. After this tough time we went on to win our last four games which got our name on the league trophy.

In terms of ambitions for the future, the board of directors want me to sign a new long term contract but I cannot see myself committing to the club for many years but instead look to more to a club of a higher reputation as I am focusing on my own personal achievement instead that of the club I am at. I will however continue to put my all into the club and see out the remainder of my contract with the club, which expires at the end of next season. I already have put plans into action with Thomas Carroll, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel and Nicolas Gaitain being shown the door and replacements being targeted. It is a very exciting time around St James’ Park at the moment, which I hope I can help continue for at least next season.
