He came up against stiff competition which is always good when deciding on which player deserves the recognition through my PoTM award. I couldn't quite believe the impact he made in the game. I hope there is much more to come from him.

Despite there still being two months worth of games remaining in our first season in the Premier League, you can consider it a huge success, even if we slip down a few places before the end of May. At the beginning we were predictably favourites to be relegated and it was thought that we were going to have to endure loss after loss and it was just going to be one long hard slog until the very end which would see us return to the Championship. However, by the looks of things at present, we will undoubtedly go down as the league’s over-achievers of the season, well, if we don’t...I will just be shocked! Due to the success we have had this season I feel that it is important to set the club up for at least another few seasons in the top division, whether I am at the helm or not. In order for this to happen it is essential that the board of directors have faith in me and put things in place to ensure the sustainability of the club for the long term.

The first step I have taken to help Notts County become a team to be reckoned with for years to come is to request that yet more investment is piled into facilities at Meadow Lane. As a result of the huge increase in income this season, because of playing in the top league and the introduction of Yaya Toure to the team, it has meant that investment can be made without worries of any future financial difficulties. Although, if the club was to get relegated in a season or two, you couldn’t be blamed for thinking that the club would struggle to maintain Premier League quality facilities. However, I only see the club going from strength to strength based on performances I have witnessed this season; this means that there will be larger amounts of money coming into the club which will mean the club facilities can continue to be developed in order to achieve the next ranking and compete with facilities of the big clubs.

Take a look at the last league table...we are nowhere near relegation and if anything, Europe is a possibility. Thanks for reading.

As you can tell from the title of this update, we are certainly within a shout of a European spot come the end of the season. As a result of going on a 7 game unbeaten run, 6 of the games being wins, we have managed to get within reach of a Europa League place next season. You can imagine my shock and surprise that we find ourselves in this position with three games to, with one of the games being against Europa League rivals Liverpool on the final day of the season at Anfield. Despite us defying all odds this season and now having the chance to get Notts County into the Europa League after just one season in the Premier League, a huge part of me is hoping that we don’t accomplish this magnificent achievement.

The simple reason for this is that the club does not have depth and it is going to take a lot of investment to turn the club in its current state into a side that has the strength to put 100% into what would be four competitions (Premier League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup and Europa League). Yes if we made it into the Europa League it would sharply increase our income and chances of bringing in the players to compete at that level but I feel that for at least the next two to three seasons, sustaining Premier League status and developing the club’s infrastructure needs to take priority over one season in Europa League which could result in Premier League relegation. On a side note here, the board of directors have invested further money in expanding the stadium after my request for this to happen. This club is going places! Once we have a team that I feel can sustain Premier League status for the long term, then I will start to focus on the other competitions and attempt to add trophies to the Notts County cabinet. However, how long am I realistically going to be there for?

The aim of this story was to beat the number of views one of my first stories received and also to keep the story going until I have to retire from the save. I feel these two aims that are the basis of this story can only be achieved through a change of team sooner rather than later. This therefore means that if a big club comes in for my services then I would be daft to turn them down. Yes it may not then work out for me but it would definitely add some spice to a story that could potentially become mundane if I stick with Notts County for seasons to come.

Everything is looking good at the moment and Europe is a real possibility. Three tough games remaining, but of course the story is behind the save so I know exactly how it ends

I will be able to reveal very shortly if the players bottled it or not

Prior to this month it looked quite likely that, despite having only been promoted to the Premier League for the first time since in the club’s recent history that we were going to have the chance to achieve a European spot. Yes it would have been in the competition that I deem pointless and affectionately call the “Champions League Losers Cup” but it would have been an extraordinary feat if we qualified for the competition. Last month our confidence was sky high. We were playing well and a number of players were really starting to show off their true potential at the best possible time.

Unfortunately this month was just a month too far for our players who were evidently shattered when looking back on their performances. In this month we should have been picking up at least 6 out of 9 available points. The win against Newcastle was a brilliant way to start the month and it looked as if we were going to go on and get the points needed to get into the Europa League. Why we lost to Norwich City I have no idea. The only excuse I can give for the players is that they would have been both physically and mentally shattered after what a shock to the system this season would have been for many of the players. A lot of them will not have played in a league of players of such high calibre; for us to come away with 8th spot is a brilliant achievement and one that I am proud of.

The match against Liverpool gave us a little sign that we have come a long way since the beginning of the season. For the team to come away with only conceding one goal against a Liverpool side which did disappoint their fans, was a pretty good way to finish the season; I couldn’t have any complaints about how the lads played, especially my player of the season, Jack Grealish. I cannot believe I managed to sign this fantastic youngster for £5.5 million. He has huge potential and could become one of the great Notts County players but also a stand out Premier League player for years to come. It is an exciting time at Meadow Lane!

He has a very bright future ahead of him so I see it as a great piece of business to get him for just over 5million.

It was disappointing but I think it will benefit us next season to not have another competition to play in. The logo and facepacks came from this site. Check out the download section and the top rated downloads for the logo and facepack section.

Disappointing to see you miss out on a European spot but hopefully you can strengthen the squad in the summer with some new signings and next season get to where you should be, Europe!

Taken a few days but Ive really enjoyed reading this. Lets see what the future brings.
